Hey Tonyz400, that's a great question. I've asked that question to a pile of experts (rednecks) and I haven't seen any loss of power yet. The pipes on it are off a friends Harley I cut to fit. This bike is pretty fast. It's spinning the tires pretty much every time I take off. I'm still working the bugs out of the carb so I haven't really thrashed it yet.
I have been thinking of doing a bobber build out of my ts 185 lately and have a question about your exhaust. Since the motor is a 2 stroke it came from the factory with an expansion chamber, but your new pipes don't have that. Have you noticed any lose of power or torque by putting 4 stroke style exhaust on it. I met one guy on chop cult.com who did a ts250 and had a straight pipe too. does it bog or have less bottom end?
