They're really good. I think it's just the proximity, but their syllables sound awkwardly enunciated. Jo-a-na-na jo-a-na-na. I'm sure from a bigger distance it'd sound a bit softer.

@hatorigirl1202 Quite often singers, at least choirs, will seem to over enunciate consonants so that the sound will travel while still producing clear words.

In the case of jo-na-na-na, since "j" and "n" are semi-hard consonants and several people need to clearly hit those consonants at the same time, they might be over-emphasizing simply to remain together and maintain a steady tempo.
