I don't know, our generation has a degeneration jejej just kidding, but it's true, nowadays there aren't musicians like the E Street Band, they're simply amazing
I love this video. Jay's big smile at the intro, everyone playing so well, the energy and the hug and kiss Max gave his son at the end. Its so cool to see. Bruce looks happy as all hell too; I guess at this point in time it was appartent that Jay was a perfect fit as Max's replacement for the 2009 tour. I saw the May 15, 2009 Hershey show. It was great. Max was missed but Jay more than made up for it. I was sorry that Patty was not there. I missed her on the Magic Tour too.
Saw Bruce last night and max was there. I love max! sure Jay is really good, but his dad is better. Always gonna be that way. His dad plays with more soul and he is more into it. Idk there is just something about the way Max plays that makes him better. He puts everything he's got into each song. I met him once at Conan O'Brien, and i must say he is a good guy too.
I think it's GREAT to see a new Weinberg drum genius in the band. Runs in the blood, like father like son, yet they each have their own style. Max hasn't exactly passed his sticks down to Jay, but it will help Max fulfill his Conan schedule. Peace!
HEY! At 6:15 in the VERY bottom right corner, the black shirt with the guitar on the back? I have that one! lol GO BRUCE! I got chills man, what an experience for Jay huh?!
Max Weinbergs 18-year-old son Jay sat in for "Good Eye" and six other tunes, practicing to take over for his dad this summer when his father returns to Conan OBriens band on The Tonight Show
fdny442: "Its unbelievable," the younger Weinberg told Rolling Stone after the show. "Ive been on tour with them since I was nine, but I never thought I could be put into this family any deeper. Its just a huge moment."
Surely a world tour with the E-street gang is far far more important to Max than being a bit part player in a talks show?...I stand by my previous message about his serious back problems...his back is a mess
Reading Max W's Wikipedia page about 7 surgeries, my guess is that the younger Jay W can do more physically than dad at this point - and will be fine on tour - keeping up with a band that is how many years older than him??? !!!
I love Max's drumming and it's hard to imagine the E Streeters without him, but I read somewhere that there was a time circa 1980 that Springsteen was thinking about replacing Weinberg.
I am surprised to hear that Jay will replace his dad for the euro-leg but maybe it makes sense. Max has suffered from a bad back for years and maybe he just can't do 100 gigs a year anymore. This kid sounds pretty good and if Bruce is not worried the I am not worried.
Actually, Jay is filling in for Max because of Max's commitment to the Conan O'Brien show, which starts in its new time slot at the time of that euro-leg. And it isn't the whole Euro leg, only a few shows.
That was pretty cool. A lot of fans are worried about Jay, but I'm pretty sure he's up to the task, and as for his different style, his dad can show him some stuff to kinda acclimate himself better, and also probably give tips on what Bruce's secret cues to the band are for songs, so he doesn't get lost too often.
I completely agree with you man! Jay is the one who can fit better in the E Street. Of course Max is one of the most important and unique members of the Band and we're goin' to miss him in that few shows but Jay will hit the drums with the same energy.
Wow, big pressure for Jay in Europe, but I assume Bruce is smart enough to know if the kid is ready or not...nothing wrong with adding some youthful energy to the band though.
jay should be in the e street band full time, he's way better than max, more creative

@cbarrett34 No way. Jay is in Against Me! now and I wouldn't want another drummer to take his place. AM! is my favorite band.
