  • Love this guitar im so glad i bought one while they made em. I replaced my bridge with an evo-2 but the activators still own and i slapped it in another guitar >:)

  • isnt that the sickest v ever!?

  • i hate you so much for playin that sik john petrucci lol niiiiice

  • @cr0magnum1 Thank you! You're a great player yourself. Checked out your Killswitch video.

  • how low did you tune that thing for the mushuggah cover? because i can almost guarentee that a 6 string isnt made for it. considering all they use is 7 strings... well 8 strings now i should say but too low for a 6 nonetheless

  • @deathcore1239 I tuned the 6th string only, down to Bb. I am completely aware of the loose tension that follows when you tune a string that low. I actually have an 8 string now and for the low F# I use an 0.70 gauge string.

  • Wow man. Nice playing!!! LOVE the thrash songs. I also like how ur DiMarzios remind me of an EMG 81 but with even more clarity. Now that's one hell of a p/u

  • @Hendrixidol Thank you very much, sir! D-Activators are loud and clear indeed.

  • Dude, you rip hard on Master of Puppets. Rock the fuck on.

  • @420witchdoctor Thanks, man!

  • @Moozart Yeah man, totally!

  • Great Riff Selection!! Awesome playing

  • you shred man. how is that neck pickup for soloing and clean tones? I was thinking about getting an x2n on the bridge and that on the neck.

  • I do like to think that I can hear a great pickup when I hear one, but I have only owned EMG's and these passive DiMarzio's that have been anything else than stock pickups. If you're like me, who like the clarity of an active pickup, then these pickups are pretty good. They're ringing out bright and clear. I like that for both clean and distorted. Probably for neck position as well as bridge too.

  • how do you like these pickups compared to active? I just bought the same guitar, but black. $450 Canadian with case, i was saving for an ESP Eclipse, but i stumbled across the vtb when my friend was selling one, and I grabbed it, figured it was a good deal, The previous owner was a guitar collector, didn't even play, and my friend only had it a month. after playing it for a few days, i know i got a good deal. Still saving for the eclipse though.

  • It might be the thickness of the body or any other factor, but I feel they are even brighter than EMG's. I'm not an expert though. In short, I think they sound clear and clean and you don't have to worry about batteries.. Sounds like a great pickup to me!

  • awesome riffs and playing

  • Is that guitar good? Maybe buying one used. Heard quite much good of it. And looks like, it sounds awesome :D

  • It's one of my best guitars indeed!

You should absolutely try it out if you have the opportunity though. Since this line of guitars is known to be prototypes and I have heard several people say that the frets could have been done better. I had to file down a few frets on this guitar. That's why you need to check it out ;) Apart from that, this is a good guitar.

  • Murud, Murud, gitarguru! :p

  • Oops, sorry , you did play some Slayer.

  • Great playing! Would you consider playing some Randy Rhoads and some Slayer? Thanks for showing and great choice of songs.

  • its all played absolutely perfectly =O one of the first youtube videos ive seen that has no mistakes at all. well played

  • That's very nice of you to say. Thanks for the compliment!

  • Nice playing.. but sounds so so digital

  • It is digital, so hence the sound. But, if plugged into an effects loop, this thing can sound pretty authentic. I tend to use the amp models on the pedal and use my amp just as a power amp.

  • Very heavy. Hell shall welcome you.

  • Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

  • Good thing IMO. :)

  • Man.. well, for your love of hell, I consider that as a positive response on my video from you so I thank you ;) \m/

  • I would guess that's a good thing!

  • nice. love the megadeth. and i like

how clean your playing is. i always manage to hit other strings when i'm playing..

  • Thanks man! I manage to do that myself as well.. Believe me! Try to play the rythm on the chorus for joe satriani's revelation. Without the pitch shifter effect. That's a good exercise for string skipping. And it's a great song.

  • nice man! slayer! :] how are thoes dimarzio's im planning on getting thoes

  • They work pretty well. Very clear sounding. I would have traded them for EMG's though.

  • Great!!!

My english is not very good, tu joues très bien et ton son est très bon(you have a good sound and you play very well).

  • got the same guitar its awesome! i hate emgs and those dimarzios are fucking sweet :) nice playing

  • i have a jackson WRMG with emg 81 and 85... those are the crappiest pickups you can get!!! i hate that tone, i can't believe how so many people like it... seymor duncans like JB4 or SH59 or lots of dimarzio pickups are 1000 times better! maybe you play nothing but metal, but i play many shred and rock stuff, and that's where the emgs completely FAIL!

  • what determins the best pickups?

  • what your ears tell ya you like.

  • Amazing playing. I love that guitar but can't seem to find it anywhere. I want! Lol.

  • Hi Mate,

    That's top drawer riffin!

Can I ask you what kind of rig you are using?

All the best from Leeds, England!

  • For this video, it's just the guitar and a boss GT-8 directly into the computer.

  • fucking hais brother

    TOP FUCKING CLASSSSSSS

    Q:)

    I LOVED THE MESHUGGAH RIFFAGE

  • thank you!

  • A: Clean up your house or room

    B: Get a pink guitar

C: Play Van Halen cuz there the best

D: Nice playing man, dam keep up the good wordk

  • I love Van Halen! But I hate pink guitars and cleaning up :P

    thanks

  • flying v's always have that cut to them, that's why they are perfect for live, and those pickups sound amazing, even for active wannabes, i should get me some

  • You're SO right! V's have a cutting sound. I can absolutely recommend the pickups. They're hot and sound nice and clear. I have a Les Paul with active EMG's and they are comparable. However, EMG's are more silent and have a more compressed sound. So I can understand why someone would by those instead of the D-activators.

  • i have a schecter hellraiser with emg 81/85, its great for aggressive playing but when it comes to playing clean, its a bit too sterile. d-activators fix that problem to some extent i suppose with respect to dynamics. however, i have a c7 blackjack atx with blackouts and for active pickups they are a lot more dynamic and have a lot more headroom.

i have an ibanez which i mainly use for playing death/black metal stuff and that i have x2n on bridge and d-activator on the neck. works for me.

  • thats fuckin badass guy!

  • Thank you!

  • I digggg it......

  • Wow Petter...cool vid!!! :D That`s some serious HEAVY picking and some MEAN faces right there DUDE. I still can`t get master of puppets to flow like you do :(

  • Thanks, buddy!

    I like being dumb ;)

What you thin of the sound? It's the sharpest sounding guitar I've got, but I absolutely love it. I'm bringing this guitar to the capital, and we're gonna shred on it.

  • HEHE sure thing dude, those dimarzio`s are killer!!!
