  • ANOTHER WAY TO DO IT.

I ran logic 8 studio on a macbook pro running osx 10.5, i then bought a new macmini with osx 10.7 lion

If you go to application on your 10.5 mac and compress the app file then transfer it to your new 10.7 mac (using sharing or a usb etc) then unzip and load the app. You have to re-enter your serial etc but it worked perfectly for me!

I don't havent tested this on any other mac but i hope it works for you!

  • thanks man! do you reckon this will work for logic 9.0.0 too?

  • @BuzzCTF Hi, for the past 2 or 3 months you can now open logic through the app as normal now... think they just realized people wernt happy. I would update to the latest logic 9 software see if that works.

  • I'm able to open it this way on Lion, but I've installed plugins that aren't showing in logic. I've done some research and it appears that I have to open Logic in 32-bit, then switch back to 64 bit. How can I open logic in 32-bit in this way?

  • HELP - I get a Bus error: 10. Any suggestions?

  • @MrMajor7 You dont need to do this process anymore ... just open as normal from the dock or file.... make sure your on lion update

  • THANKSSSSSSSSSSSS SO MUCHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE GREAT!!!

  • My hero... (swoon)

  • Pro TIP: Drag The Logic Pro Terminal app to your dock

  • @CamJvideo Dont work.

  • thank you so much , you are a hero and saved my day!!!

  • SUPERB!!! THANKS

  • Well thanks for your "determined messing."

  • Amazing! Many thanks for this. Where did you obtain this arcane knowledge?

  • @champsmacker Messing about and being very determined to find a solution lol

  • do you need to do this every time??? cause that is a massive piss take, i bought my mac purely for logic..

  • @jimmyhellyeah123 yeah you need to do this every time. Because of this and the likelihood of logic x coming out soon, plus the fact i needed a program that had to just work they way it was intended right now, i bought pro tools 9. Possibly the greatest move, means I have best of both worlds. Logic 8 is not affected by using it this way.

  • absolute hero! I almost cried when i thought it wouldn't work! are there any drawerbacks to doing it this way?

  • @vaughanmarkl no draw backs, as far as i can see and im currently mixing a session with loads of plugins and loads of tracks (89).

  • omfg thank you so much for this. i've been looking EVERYWHERE for ways to use Logic 8.0.0 express on Lion and haven't found anything helpful after hours of looking. i thought it was impossible but this worked for me first try and i must say thank you very much for providing the key for me to finally continue making music again.

  • @mmtitties no problem. I was going to wait until the newest logic pro (x or 10) came out and buy it if it was any good but due to apple screwing up logic 8, I decided to get myself pro tools 9. Im sure alot of people are the same. I was certainly not going to buy logic 9 now after it has been out for a year. Not a big enough upgrade from Logic 8.
