What is the Hawaiian word Rich says at 12:02? That sounds very interesting. There is such a word in Lojban called "co'e" meaning "whatever word would normally make sense here", like instead of "mi klama le ckule" (I went to school), you can say "mi co'e le ckule" (I -fill in the right word yourself- to school). That a natural language has this is cool.
I had never heard of this show until I discovered it watching Rob Brydon videos the other day, we sadly don't have it here in America to my knowledge at least. While it is extremely funny and all My favorite part has to be the theme song. It kind of makes me want to dance or something.
Wrong island Rich Hall. The Mauna Loa he's talking about is located on the island of Hawaii or as we locals like to call it, the Big Island. He's right about Da Kine though. lol.
They are wrong about the age of consent in The Vatican. It is the same as Italy's, since Italy's laws automatically became The Vatican's laws up until January 1st 2009. Italy changed its age of consent before that date to age 14, and thus The Vatican's age of consent is 14. Italy may have changed it since 2009, but they now have to be ratified by The Vatican before becoming law.
Isn't this the episode they got in trouble for, that Japan got ticked off about due to a misunderstanding of the segment on the luckiest/unluckiest man?
@danielbudzynski He's won several times. Actually in terms of numbers of wins he's probably near the top of the leaderboard - but his win:loss ratio is pitiful :)
SPF is not a consumer-friendly number,” says Florida dermatologist and American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) spokesman James M. Spencer, MD. “It is logical for someone to think that an SPF of 30 is twice as good as an SPF of 15, and so on, but that is not how it works.”
According to Spencer, an SPF 15 product blocks about 94% of UVB rays, an SPF 30 product blocks 97% of UVB rays, and an SPF 45 product blocks about 98% of rays.
As you may know, Sealand is also the name of the world's smallest island. It's actually visible from Harwich which Alan (I think) gave as a wrong answer to the Hiroshima question.
@southsydney Please tell me you are being sarcastic. That joke was old 50 years ago. I know, I used it in school back then and had to duck flying erasers (rubbers to all you brits), pencils and chalk. But most of my jokes got that reaction.
For the "Holiday" episode, they should have gone with that couple that was in New York for 9/11, London for the subway bombing, and Mumbai for the 26/11 bombings. Granted, none of those places begin with H, but they actually were on holiday.
I have to disagree. I feel the best panel would replace Rich Hall with David Mitchell, and then intentionally do something to piss him off. Also, I'm torn between Brydon and Jupitus. Depending on what the topic is, either can shine.
I want to go to Bhutan now.
The place sounds amazing.

When the train is moving, so can you.
