  • like your stuff, but you would get the same effects if you punched for your opponents centre line, plus you will be punching for the head.... just my opinion... no expert...

  • the only thing i don't like in this video is at about 6:40. Why the other guy don't chase the center of your body while punching?

  • @metalmechanix i think its because, its jin who is attacking. he is trying to get to mike's central line and mike is going from shoulder to shoulder so he is kinda defending thats why he is not going for the central. i think lol

  • @Chitaune I don't agree with you. in order to pursue the principle of simultaneous attack and defence he should point to the center of the opponent's body. maybe it's only for the purpose of the exercise ;)

  • i am enjoying most of your vids (havent watched them all yet), and i like the way you explain basics, excellent for us newcomers to this martial art. i use your vids as a reminder when i am not having training, because they are full of good explanations, and they motivate me to practice more. thanks!

  • Talking about posture and structure, how can I get as fit and cut as you guys.

  • this is the GREAT teacher

  • AMAZING TEACHING 2 Thumps Up, 5 stars, 100% GREAT :)

  • I have been practicing Karate for about 6 years now have almost achieved my blackbelt , Ive always liked Wing Chun though, offers a lot of great concepts and ideas about striking, we do a bit of attack combined with guarding but not in this manner, seems awesome, I wonder if ill get away with trying to incorporate some of these techniques, awesome work man keep them videos coming! Could be the next donnie yen!!

  • i need to train with this guy very informative thanks..

  • I wonder if the blonde moves his hand fast, you have time to turn the body and keep touch with his hand? And if you hit the way you go it seems that he is also turning his body and you hit him but no straight.Maybe he could make bong sau?Just questions.Thank you

  • had upmost respect until i saw dem calves, gotta train the cavles..

  • This line is also used in Chum Kiu (second form).

These punches are also used when your opponent moves to the side, to follow him and still strike towards his center line

  • Wish i could meet you at my lifetime man

  • Where can I get lessons,

  • muy buenooo! lastima q no tiene subtitulos en español!

  • verry interesting...im soo glad these vids are here..im waay too poor to pay for wing chun lessons...hopefully there will be some benefit..

  • hi jin! thanks for the selfless, generous instructions! keep it up!

    you're a great martial artist!

  • this video is good stuff, jin young teaches. Talking about some of the key similarities of western boxing and wing chun, reminds me of bruce lee's philosophy for his JEET KUNE DO idea (mixing western boxing and wing chun)

  • @mrd88888 JKD was more than just Wing Chun and Boxing. Jeet Kune Do means "way of the intercepting fist", and contains components from many different martial arts in theory, but what it truly is, is martial arts and combat minus the frills, making your movements as direct as possible, and really, by its very definition, JKD is absent of any absolute definition, because it is a very personalized style formed around a theory, that's all.

  • I was thinking Wong Shun Leung method when you were explaining this. You're awesome. This is great stuff for a lot of Wing Chun practitioners even if they studied the art. This gave me a new spin on somethings that I do.Thank you

  • as always, excellent teaching here. only annoying is the google ads for gracies stuff:P

who cares about the trolls, wing chun practitioners should check in here, its quality stuff.

  • Sounds good. But you have to be very very luck for this to work in a real fight.

  • More great stuff from you, Jin. Thank you!

  • nice that you point out that there's more than one option than to go straight....way too many concentrate on the centerline too much...idk what these other guys are talking about..ive seen this movement a lot and it works

  • and also the line of attack is awesome.

  • love the concept of hawkins, and also yeah been training hard and refining my wing chun thanks to you =D

  • nice video i did wing tsun for years in germany and we train that with the lat sao it ois very useful!!

but the only thing what i dont like its that here in the us people dont train enough situation training or lat sao . sparing its all about chi sao chi sao ,,,,,,,,

  • Jin,

Man---I don't know what the hell happened to you--but I'm definitely un-subbing from this channel. I just cant take it anymore.

Mofotox commented in the Huen Sao vid about the "Air huen"--man I know he's afkin douchebag but hes completely right!--Now this stupid 2nd Line?

It's retarded because when you wind up hittin you end up on line #1! Not The "shoulder" your aiming for. This only serves to confuse beginners!Wonder how many Yip's students teach this as well(Lineages to avoid)

  • @RyzER617 : Wow! =O First sign of intelligent life here for a long while. If you can spot da gratuitous 'air heun sao', you are way above the IQ level of most of the ass-kissing kids here sucking up Jin. They are more like kindergarten mentality easily impressed with Jins BS! Cheers. =)

  • @xotofom

    first of all:

    A) Jin and I would hand you your ass in a fkin sling. just because I disagree with his theory does NOt mean He cannot WHOOP ASS.

Now as for Me--If you were to knock on my door and offer me out for a fight--I'd thank Jesus(!!!) and whoop your punk ass.

So please--I don't need a cheerleader--I've served my country and my community--Just remember you are still a Piece of Shit in my eyes. You just had a lucky moment with the air huen.. >.>

    B) I'm not a kid

  • hey bro, i've said this many times before, it's okay to disagree with me, i'm not trying to convert anyone to my method, i'm only sharing what works for me

if parts of my method work for you, great, if some of it doesn't, that's okay too. it's all about finding what works for you so that you can "create your own suit".

  • as for any movement that i show you, you can practice it two different ways. one is moving "half beat faster" this is usually because you are younger, faster, stronger than your opponent. and there is nothing wrong with using your "athletic" ability to your advantage.

  • the other way is "half beat slower", this is when you have no physical advantages than your opponent so you have to rely completely on "touch first" and using the "body structure" to deal with their strengths.

  • neither is right or wrong, it's just, what works for you. as for me, i have to use the "half beat slower" since i am getting old..=( but as an instructor, i have a duty to show both methods and stay unbiased as to which the students prefer.

  • well said, I like your attitude

  • @RyzER617 : Wow! Sooooo mucho! Dont get so excited, I wasnt referring to you as 'intelligent'. If you really were, you won't be response to deliberate incite by me! ' Im not a kid, Im not a kind, Im not a kid dad !!!!' (typical of a kids response, lol) ' I served my country.I served my community' ... so self secured .... NOT! ' I dont need a cheerleader' .you already ARE my involuntary cheerleader commenting air huen u SUCKA, now put up your pom pom bitch! Brah ha ha ha!

  • How do u chose ur students? from the street? xD

  • master

may i know where ur dojo is?

currently i`m training in GM Jim Fung dojo

but mostly the instructor teaching is about self defense on the street

i really wanna learn stuff like bong sau.. wooden dummy things....but they say is not my level yet...anyway...can u do the one inch punch??

  • Just wanted to ask Jin, what are some drills that i can do by myself?

    Thanks

  • firstly, the form, that is the most important, but other than that, you can improvise any of the drills by working on a wooden dummy or just find any makeshift item such as a tree branch. be creative and come up with different training gear. peace!

  • Blah blah blah....for a whole year, very thing is basic, every thing is fundamental, etc. Jin, you are gifted with one thing: how to BS and stretch simple things into excruciating boredom! The way you are going, Ill come back in about a decade when you finish your con-cepts, let alone so many misconstructions you teach! Then and only then may be we can see some real Chi Sao or something....NOT. The sign of a charlatan is talk n talk n talk.

  • glad to see you're still around. and why do you talk talk talk so much? you a charlatan? =D

  • lol motofox is a virus. just like agent smith. soon there will be tofomox lol

  • great explanations!

  • thanks!

  • is it ok to mix n combine style like use one style for its power n other for it way of defense at the same time

  • @EDjustthatcool Completely true

  • hmm..this is a very tricky question. as long as you adhere to the concepts and principles of wing chun then i don't see why you couldn't. but like i said, this is not an easy task.

  • Your video is kinda off sync at 6:35

  • yeah, nothing i can do about it though. =(

  • man0

    the punch was really fast

  • thanks!

  • umm, may i ask how long you're studying under gary lam? what kind of knowledge u get? because this line of attack gary lam also have it i believe, other example ip chun etc

  • one day with Gary Lam and i just started wing chun yesterday.

  • lol sorry im asking this question peace

  • nice concept on the airplane landing, I always thought about a shock absorber or a spring

  • it's an important concept, but shock absorber or spring also are good ways to see it as well.

  • Great work as usual.

  • thanks i appreciate it!

  • Your videos are very helpful! Keep going! Thx.

  • thanks for your comment, peace!
