Please someone come out with a current version of a video like this. THIS VIDEO IS FUCKING GREAT!!!!!! But now need to talk about all of the bullshit line dances DJ's have to deal with PLEASE! haha
@silomontana are u serious? u would actually not play a song for some chick cos she was ugly?... well arent u mr fuckin big shot huh LOL... how would u feel if a club turned u down for a gig cos u were too fuckin ugly.. bet u wouldnt find that so amusing.....
believe me the DJ dosnt always know best as they are mainly just coked up big-headed arseholes nowadays and all think they are that cock of a dj Tiesto
Love this, I'm trying to get into djing more and more I recently dj'd a dance with a couple hundred people (mostly 15 - 20 age). It wasn't the kind you would do a mix at besides mixing in between songs with similar bpm's etc... And all night we had the same 3 girls coming up and asking for justin bieber among other things.
I've been a DJ for over 20 years & the worst incident was a dumb drunk girl who asked for a request & then dropped her beer bottle on one of my 1210 turntables which snapped the headshell in half & also destroyed my Shure M-447 stylus whilst the record was playing!
@JONATHANAINSLIE If I have had something heavy to hand, she would of got a smack round the head with it. As soon as she realised she's dropped her beer, she just ran off & left the bottle spinning on my deck with the beer pouring out.
Golden rule now is that any drunk people come near my decks get told to **** off. Harsh, I know but I'm not going through that again. lol :o)
I hate it when my headphones are on and someone tries talking to me. Its common sense to know that when someone is wearing headphones, they probably can't her you. Let alone with loud music blaring on top of that.
I've seriously had people carry on a full one sided conversation, thinking they were talking to me, and I had no idea they were there.
And the people who come up and ask to make shout outs on the microphone. ugh.
The so called DJ who wants to test your patience with lines like, "Hey DJ!, can't your mixer go any higher?" or "Hey DJ!, that remix was shit don't you have the baggerz bootleg dub remix?" or "Hey DJ!, Giz a go on ya decks." or "Hey DJ, When are ya going to start playing some real music?"
Nice Job. This song is based on a poster originally written by me in 1986 after a long night of dealing with the really stupid statements and questions that all DJ’s are bombarded with. I produced a poster that responded to the top (12). The 1st version of this was sold to members of the DDK Record Pool over 20 years ago. I did a 2nd version in the 90's called "How NOT to Make a Request"
Please feel free to say "Thank You" to me for providing your lyrics.
the DJs job is to play music and peoples job is to dance to it. If person hates what your playing then why is he/she in the club for? arent you suppose to have fun and dance instead of whining which ruins your day and the DJs day too?
they should have a portable tinted glass wall so the people wont bother the dj lol
One they missed is, people requesting songs they know are going to be played. example: when OMG by usher came out... that is obviously going to be put on at some point... its the biggest song out right now... dont request obvious songs.
over years i have collected around 180gb of mixable music... that tallys up to around 24000 tracks... at a pound a track or even a doller... u do the math bud
also many djs including myself have records that are either rare/old or not even out yet worth a allot of cash...
so i think u need to get over yourself m8 as it is a very expensive pasttime
!!!! djs have the easiest and most overrated 'job' ever, where the only skill required is sucking up to managers and promoters, and they get frustrated too? try some real work for 10 hours a day and learn what real patience means
@gamosaspoustides : easiest job hahahaha i guess u dont know nothing about dj...it takes time and a lot money to learn....yes its easy once u learn everything and its way better then being in an office for 10 hours being bored as fuck... i rather to play music and enjoy my nite...
people that fuck with djs while they work are the same people that got to your local coffee shop/retailer/service industry, and fuck with the workers their too! They are one in the same Asshole/fucktard!
Before serato this one chick was drunk as F and was trying to ask for Black Eyed Peas "Get Retarded" I kid you not I had just taken that song out of the crates that same week, cause I was thinking I was not gonna be playing it often enough anymore. I told her I ahve it, but I have it at home not with me. She starts singing it you know it goes " Lets ge-ee-et reta--arded in hee-eere" and kept bugging the whole night LOL
Personally If they want to use the DJ as a JUKE BOX they should pay for it like a JUKE BOX. One girl got mad cause she tipped $1 and I played her song but it was almost the end of the night and I was in quick mix mode so I gave her One or two verses. She got upset for only getting part of her song and started to make a scene so I jokingly said on the mike "You tipped a dollar so I gave you One dollar's worth of song" LOL.
As I tell em if they bug me too much "I Don't go to your job and tell you how to work the pole" I have at one time or another heard all of these before but often I actually get the opposite a lot. Hey man your the best DJ, Man you'r rocking it and the occasional can you play ... (and it's already cued up so I scratch in a small verse like to say you mean this LOL) sometimes it's subliminal, they here me scratch in part of a chiorus and come to the booth to request what I'm already starting up
I do take requests, but the spots I DJ @ are strictly rap/hip-hop/r&b/old school. So folks know what they can & cannot request. But I only do it for 30 minutes a night.
I've been pro DJ'n for 15years and i can honestly say i've had to put up with every one of these situations + another 100.
This video should be aired on national TV every night before people go out to the bars n clubs!!!
My colleague has a habit of playing every request he gets, for example, one track could be Flo Rida, followed by Kings of Leon followed by Girls Aloud, then Kenny Rodgers...
People should leave it to the pro's who know what they're doing...
as a DJ, this video is mad real... i got like 9 out of 11 things of those things said to me... one thing this video forgot to mention was "HEY CAN I LEAVE MY JACKET/COAT HERE?!?!?" NO MOTHERFUCKER, im not a coat check!!!
Yea that's right let the dj play an u decide if he was good or not by the end of the night.oh yea i dj too. and i hated when i was doin a beat some dude said."na man let the song play" blah blah blah.shit how u expect me to dj.
PS. I DON'T PLAY FOR MY HOMEBOYS.....I PLAY FOR THE CROWD.
YES!!!! THIS VIDEO IS FOR the people who hasnt touched music... think about it lol... I get this same shit alot... I just point at the fuckin the tip box xD
this is SO... TRUE... this video made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck as well as cringe.. thought I was the only one who heard all this shit. AWESOME video.
You are bang on bro!!! I did a Christmas party last Saturday with all ages and a multiple amount of nationalities....One woman was on me the first two minutes into it. I played all types of kick ass tunes and it still wasn't good enough. All except a select few thought that I had too play only there music. Guess they weren't smart enough too realize that a dj tries play all genres. And to those rude mother*@#$*%. F**k you!!! You rock bro!!!
love the speech at the end by the dj, so true....let us do our job! you dont like it, then get the fuck out and make room on the dance floor for ppl who want to be there and appriciate the art of DJing.
Graphixinfo: if you have ever stood on a scene where pepole dance to the music for other purposes than to get laid, You wont hear this But if a dj is standing in the local bar spinning Rnb and hits then no. Im not a dj...
