@captainofthetitanic On the standard gauge, Thomas arrived first, then Edward, although Edward was older. Henry and Gordon had also arrived by the start of the series.

Anything else is Hit failing to pay attention to continuity or history - Hiro's prototype is at least 20 years younger than Thomas', and yet they claim him to be the oldest engine on the island.

More importently, we all know Toby is a main line engine, because we see trams pulling the express.
