What a glorious future! Imagine, no pain,no suffering,no feelings, ultimate order...ultimate peace...all this thanks to the Necrons and to their Star Gods,C'tan.
@whipfistpwn Do you think I don't know about the new codex? It's funny ,but introduce something what doesn't match with the necron strategy. Necron army looks more like the Tomb Kings...it's awkward.
MAN! I was dissapointed that super death god with the scyth didn't make an apperance in this little ending he was way cooler than the deciver. Picking units up and hust mashing them into a bloody mess, then casting them aside like a balled up newspaper and going for another. XD

It is amazing to know that the C'tan Gods of the Necrons had a serious conflict with the Chaos Gods. It would be interesting to know why Chaos Gods and the C'tan Gods have such a huge issue with each other. There are various and obvious reasons why they hate one another too: Soul-less Necrons want to destroy everything and fill graves with the dead. Madness of Space Marines want to enslave all and fill the land with either dead, bloodly, or magic of Chaos. Who would win between these two?
@bossshun9 Necrons. Huge Tombworlds full of Necrons, and at full strength, the C'tan are stronger than the Chaos Gods, though at the moment the Nightbringer is still recovering.
But the reason that the C'tan hate the Chaos Gods (the Chaos Gods don't really know that the C'tan exist) is that the Necrons hate anything created by or related to the Old Ones, and the Forces of Chaos are both.
@bossshun9 Saw that some other guy replied so let me clear this up for you. First, they haven't had a ''serious conflict'' with eachother. The Warp was utilised as a weapon by the Old Ones' warrior races in the War in Heaven, which unwittingly shaped it into what it is today (a nightmare) - the C'tan although physically immensely powerful simply cannot handle the Warp. That other dimension is completely alien to them and it's also the most effective way of defeating the C'tan.
@bossshun9 So to combat the threat of the warp, the C'tan intended to seal it off from the physical universe. But the project to do so was never completed. And the C'tan are not more powerful than the Chaos gods - nothing is - but they are the most powerful creatures of the physical universe we know of. The C'tan and Necrons can make devices that contain and seal off the Warp and its energies but they cannot handle it themselves at all. And Chaos would ultimately win in theory.
Chaos and Necrons are on opposing ends of the spectrum. Chaos comes from what is most easily described as another dimension or universe but it doesn't physically exist. Necrons and C'tan are of the physical universe and have zero ability to use Chaos, and since they are masters of the physical universe, they would be nigh-invincible with the Warp sealed off. But Chaos to interact with the physical universe. Hope I made it clearer, don't hesitate with any questions.
@Korrinthestormtrooper You'd need at least a Resurrection Orb for that to work. People like you, who overstate them like that, are the reason they might get nerfed by Games Workshop and screwed up for the rest of us.
@DARKSERB96 Necrons aren't made out of living metal, or at least not the same stuff as the C'tan are (Necrodermis). They just have hyper-advanced self-repair tech. But Lasguns are nearly useless against them because of their heavy armour. And as for hydrogen bombs, well, they'd have almost no effect.
As for the video itself...
The Necrons didn't lose the first war.
They won. By a lot. The reason they went to sleep was because the C'tan, or the four remaining C'tan anyway, had almost no food
@razzadb Yes, but they only got free (or turned malignant, whatever) because the Necrons caused the Old Ones to have a mental spasm when they lost the war. The C'tan could have wasted the Enslavers, but they didn't see the point.

@KopritheStormtrooper funny thing another dude answered my question when he said the Necron's are made of living metal that regenerates. he also said they're minds are dull from having died to much
Necrons never attacked tyranids? that's weird..it is not a fear of death, the necrons fear NOTHING,they are like an army of undead arnold schwarzengers who just keep reviving and reviving if you dont finish the monolith, the tyranids will have a fucking hard time beating them..they are deathless terminators, fearless, and extremely resilient..i think that the tyranids them selves fear the necron, who the fuck doesnt? the necron lord could kill like 5000 with infiltration before dying, then he revives!
Soooo do they build new Necrons to replace the old ones that get killed, i KNOW the whole idea of the necron is that they come back to life(sorta) but some of them are about to get blown to pieces, melted, and generally too worn out to re-use so how do they get new ones, even if they got more out of storage underground they'd run out EVENTUALLY.
@vader228 Yes, the Void Dragon was on Terra at one point. I don't want to spoil it for everyone, but the truth is, it turns out the Void Dragon was really Justin Beiber. It makes perfect sense if you really think about it.
Here is some fragment from lexicanum which is canonical :
"In the book series, The Horus Heresy, a great deal about an entity almost certainly the Void Dragon is revealed, called "The Dragon of Mars". The Emperor himself defeated a creature of godlike power who existed on Terra itself centuries ago sometime during the 12th century . He travelled to Mars and imprisoned the entity within the Noctis Labyrinth, purposefully not destroying it."
It suggest that Void Dragon was dormant on Earth itself
@vader228 Very nice, althougth almost entirely suggestions and implications (Games Workshop likes to do that). None the less, all very possible and or probable
@TheReinstator The c'tan and chaos gods HATE each other because the c'tan can't stand the warp.
The c'tan don't mix with the warp at all so they have even tried to block the warp from this world. The chaos gods would not like this but for the c'tan the warp is the #1 threat. (just like the c'tan is to the warp)
@mrspontaneous100 Only enslave him on Mars. Dont worry, he will be back and will be the end of the whole galaxy.(if he is so powerful as gamesworkshop said) ;)
@vader228 He wasn't enslaved, he is just dormant there being it was a tomb world long before man ever existed. It is rumored that the Void Dragon is actually the Machine spirit that the Adeptus mechanicus worship.
Sad part is that the void dragon will never have his fluff advanced because of where he is. If he woke up that would be the end of the imperium (the emperor being dead and all) although I'd wager he couldn't take out the void dragon anyway.
and it wasnt the deceiver who tricked the C'tan, its missunderstandable, but it was the laughing god ( the thing the stupid eldar harlequins are worshipping... )
@BlutengeldesTodes You should check your knowledge. Heres some fragment from Lexicanum: "When read alongside Games Workshop Website - Dawn of the C'tan, The Death of Light this offers the possibility that the Eldar Harlequin Laughing God is in fact The Deceiver in another form - although there are also many evidences against this, as well as the possibility that both have imitated the other on numerous occasions."
In other words: The Great Deceiver maybe IS Laughing God!!!
@vader228 he really isnt - c'tan are star being made solely in the materiel plane, they have no warp presence, no psychic powers, no soul they are pure material energy, the laughing god was created by collective psychic energies of the elder in the warp or immaterium - if they were one of the same then harlequin could join necron because harlequins are directly protected by the laughing god.
@mryevix He is Ctan. But maybe this is just one of his plans to dominate galaxy and life itself. We know that eldars dont know about this fact .They think that this is possible but dont know that this is happening right now. In other words: Laughing God maybe is 2 or more persons in one.
@LordSerion That is the most interesting in all of this!!! Why? I dont know. Maybe to gain more power, because he is too selfish, even for Ctan standards.
@vader228 The Laughing god tricked the deceiver into absorbing the other c'tan gods and proteceted the Harlequin souls from being absorbed by Slaneesh.
@munguntulga I see, well I'm afraid that your information is a tad skewed. I have that codex and there is no mention of the laughing god and the deceiver ever coming in contact with one another. It was in fact the Deceiver that convinced the Nightbringer to feed on other C'tan and The Laughing God that convinced the Outsider to do that same (causing him to go insane). It states that the Deceiver is by far the weakest of the C'tan so how would he be able to beat and absorb any of the others?
@munguntulga The only indication of how strong any of of the C'tan were is that it is stated the Void Dragon was the strongest, and if you read the Deceiver section of your codex it clearly states that he was the weakest and made it a point to avoid the others. We know the nightbringer is the most active (as far as kill count and overall destruction) and nowhere does it talk about any of the other C'tan (not counting the 4 remaining) or how strong they were.
@munguntulga That would be the case if they went into more detail about how they "all" got absorbed. In the case of the Deceiver he had to trick several of them, he was not able to simply overpower them. If he were as powerful as lets say the Nightbringer he wouldn't need to rely on cunning and trickery then would he? Its possible that each one wasnt comsumed by one of the remaining 4. The deceiver could had tricked one that had already absorbed 30 or so of the others. All speculation ofcourse
@munguntulga I agree, but that my friend is a different discussion entirely. This is the 40k Universe, strength is almost always measure by raw power. It wasnt implied that he was the weakest, it was flat out stated.
@Bishop15a2 Don't know about that, i think that implies to orks only. If that were true man would've gone extinct long ago in the 40k universe. The deceiver is the weakest of the other 3 yes but not the weakest c'tan.
@munguntulga The race of man holds literally almost no "strength" of its own, they survive purely by the will of their god emperor (who I think is dead). He is the only reason man still exist. If the C'tan don't rise to power again then most likely the Tyranids will consume this galaxy like they have done many others (brute force at its finest). I personally dont think the Ork banners uniting would be fair or any fun to watch. As for the C'tan, again merely speculation on my part.
@vader228 Impossible, The Laughing God was with Khaine in the warp when he fought Slaneesh. C'tan have no affinity to the warp and find it an impossible to inhabbit being that there are purely of the mateial universe(The warp being the immaterial counter part). Therefore they can not be the same.
@Bishop15a2 Maybe you are right. BUT, there is too many connections between Laughing God and Deceiver. I have a theory: Laughing God is directly manipulated by the Deceiver. Its more possible.
@shockywatt Yeah,i heard about it. I think its possible,i think its true. Necrons and Tyranids NEVER attacked eachother. Its something more then just fear of being destroyed by the necrons(some people think it is).Look this way,Nightbringer and Deceiver have necrons all over galaxy,Void Dragon is sleeping on Mars and is worshiped by the Techpriests. We dont know much about the Outsider .Only that he is insane and exiled by his own kind(which isnt very sane itself).
the necron army is the fucking largest and most variable of all, its just they do not awake....the great Deceiver, however is NOT the one who killed the oter C'tan, the one who did this is the Nightbringer, the most powerfull and fearsome of all C'tan, the deceiver tried to made him killed, cause he feared for the C'tan race at least....but he failed with it, the Nightbringer coulndt be slain and just fall into sleep for million years...but he is awaken know...
The C'Tan (pronounced 'Se-tan') are incorporeal energy beings that are older than the Warp itself. The Necontyr (the race that would become the Necrons) worshiped them as gods, because of their short lifespans. Using their technology, the Necrontyr forced the massive C'Tan into small, corporeal bodies made of Necrodermis (the living metal that makes the Necrons). The C'Tan tricked the Necrontyr into putting their minds into robotic shells, making them the slaves of the C'Tan.
"New, strange, and terrible armies surronding them" *AVGN face* What, the, fuck? there's nothing more terrifying than the necron, WHO WROTE THAT GUY'S SCRIPT?!?
@Hawktotalwar Necrons are the souls of a dead race shackled to undying robotic bodies, who serve their Star Gods, the C'tan, by killing the living to harvest their souls for the gods to eat. The Necrons are now slowly waking up from a long slumber.
There are four of the C'tan left (though there used to be more) the Deathbringer, the Deceiver, the Void Dragon (locked away in Mars, may actually be the Machine Spirit of the Techpriests) and the Other (trapped in a Dyson sphere).
@xpururux You mean that big floating guy? That's one of the Necron Lord's two transformations (relic weapons for the Necron); the deceiver. He doesn't have an attack, but he's got some really nasty tricks like causing enemies to fight amongst themselves and stuff like that. The other is the Deathbringer, in which he's basically an extremely hard hitting reaper-like guy that's almost impossible to kill.
@IdleBigots You mean the Nightbringer, not the Deathbringer.
If I recall correctly, when the Necron Lord transforms into the Nightbringer or the Deceiver, he becomes invincible. He can be damaged again when he transforms back into the Necron Lord, but if he transformed into the Nightbringer, then the Necron Lord heals for an amount equal to all the points of damage he dealt while transformed.
The Nightbringer and the Deceiver are two of the C'tan Gods.
I spent ages finishing the campaign with the necrons on hard difficulty, only to find the ending is the fucking same as Dark Crusade except for having the deciever instead of the nightbringer. I was very pissed off!
@closecombat4 Waddya expect? i play necrons and they are "soul less" to a degree and are machines... you cant exactly get a very dramatic and emotional ending out of them lol...
If the rumours are true, the codex will be out sometime next year, probably January, like the nids. In the meantime, I'm writing my own for my mate, to give him a chance until then.
The necrons are pratically the Reapers from Mass Effect. They both sleep while the living rise and then spring like a coil on the living wiping them all out and the cycle repeats.
It was also before Slaanesh killed most of the eldar and broke the eldar empire, so yes eldar were much more powerful during the first war against the necrons.
Didn't the Emperor fight the C'tan dragon god and win? And in a way that's who the Adeptus Mechanicus worship due to the Emperor planning it all along. I believe that only a select few from the Adeptus Mechanicus even know about him and make sure that he doesn't wake up on Mars.
Maybe. Even Games Workshop doesn't know if the Void Dragon is entombed on Mars. It was one of those "Oh ,well a history writer thinks it should be like that, so... whatever" things.
@donicTH Makes sense. The most prominent necron units are crypt spyders and lords. and what are they mostly used for? Recovery and reconstruction of broken necrons. That's recon work. No, scratch that. That's medic work.
The most powerful necrons with seen so far are not even primary combat units. They're MEDICAL STAFF.
When the actual necron soldiers awake... Emperor help us all.
@gams23 TOMB spyders the most powerful unit? Err, we have two units that are fractions of gods. And you're saying immortals aren't powerful? Or destroyers, heavy destroyers? And you don't think a monolith can cause more damage than a tomb spyder? Lol
@Gruntoffry Yeah, tomb spiders are great for soaking up damage with T6, 2 wounds and a 3+ save, and a a support unit, are only beaten by the lord because of their ability to give whole squads that have been destroyed a WBB roll, if there's not another unit of the same type within 6", but still on the board. But they're no way the most powerful unit.
I'd have to say that Destroyers were the most versatile.
The Nightbringer is easily the most powerful, though.
@Vehementi soaking up damage if someone decides to actually go for them instead of what's damaging them. if your warriors got mowed down and you need a tomb spyder, that's your fault. and the nightbringer? eh, deciever gets one less attack, one less strength, and one more initiative, plus all of his abilities. the nightbringer's and the deciever's attacks are pretty much exactly the same.
@Gruntoffry Except because TS are such good SUPPORT units, they're not supposed to damage. They're not meant to cause damage, they're meant to keep the units that do cause damage "alive".
The Deciever's more of a support unit, skill-wise, and the Nightbringer's more suited towards attacking in CC.
@donicTH Necrons beside Dark Eldar are really due an update and when it finally comes are probably going to get way more new units and infantry and hopfully weaponry like what they had back in 4th edition to go up against armies like the new IG and Nids.

Sad part is that the void dragon will never have his fluff advanced because of where he is. If he woke up that would be the end of the imperium (the emperor being dead and all) although I'd wager he couldn't take out the void dragon anyway.
Bishop15a2 9 months ago
and it wasnt the deceiver who tricked the C'tan, its missunderstandable, but it was the laughing god ( the thing the stupid eldar harlequins are worshipping... )
BlutengeldesTodes 1 year ago
@BlutengeldesTodes You should check your knowledge. Heres some fragment from Lexicanum: "When read alongside Games Workshop Website - Dawn of the C'tan, The Death of Light this offers the possibility that the Eldar Harlequin Laughing God is in fact The Deceiver in another form - although there are also many evidences against this, as well as the possibility that both have imitated the other on numerous occasions."
In other words: The Great Deceiver maybe IS Laughing God!!!
vader228 1 year ago 80
@vader228 he really isnt - c'tan are star being made solely in the materiel plane, they have no warp presence, no psychic powers, no soul they are pure material energy, the laughing god was created by collective psychic energies of the elder in the warp or immaterium - if they were one of the same then harlequin could join necron because harlequins are directly protected by the laughing god.
mryevix 1 year ago
@mryevix He is Ctan. But maybe this is just one of his plans to dominate galaxy and life itself. We know that eldars dont know about this fact .They think that this is possible but dont know that this is happening right now. In other words: Laughing God maybe is 2 or more persons in one.
vader228 1 year ago 4
@vader228 But what would he gain by turning the Nightbringer against his own kind?
LordSerion 11 months ago
@LordSerion That is the most interesting in all of this!!! Why? I dont know. Maybe to gain more power, because he is too selfish, even for Ctan standards.

@vader228 The Laughing god tricked the deceiver into absorbing the other c'tan gods and proteceted the Harlequin souls from being absorbed by Slaneesh.

Bishop15a2 9 months ago

@Bishop15a2 the codex, warhammer wiki and their site.
munguntulga 9 months ago
@munguntulga I see, well I'm afraid that your information is a tad skewed. I have that codex and there is no mention of the laughing god and the deceiver ever coming in contact with one another. It was in fact the Deceiver that convinced the Nightbringer to feed on other C'tan and The Laughing God that convinced the Outsider to do that same (causing him to go insane). It states that the Deceiver is by far the weakest of the C'tan so how would he be able to beat and absorb any of the others?
Bishop15a2 9 months ago
@Bishop15a2 all the other C'tan gods were weaker than the three and the deceiver is not the weakest,
munguntulga 9 months ago
@munguntulga The only indication of how strong any of of the C'tan were is that it is stated the Void Dragon was the strongest, and if you read the Deceiver section of your codex it clearly states that he was the weakest and made it a point to avoid the others. We know the nightbringer is the most active (as far as kill count and overall destruction) and nowhere does it talk about any of the other C'tan (not counting the 4 remaining) or how strong they were.
Bishop15a2 9 months ago
@Bishop15a2 there is a reason why the other c'tan gods got absorbed, they were not strong enough to survive. Don't need a codex to figure it out.
munguntulga 9 months ago
@munguntulga That would be the case if they went into more detail about how they "all" got absorbed. In the case of the Deceiver he had to trick several of them, he was not able to simply overpower them. If he were as powerful as lets say the Nightbringer he wouldn't need to rely on cunning and trickery then would he? Its possible that each one wasnt comsumed by one of the remaining 4. The deceiver could had tricked one that had already absorbed 30 or so of the others. All speculation ofcourse
Bishop15a2 9 months ago
@Bishop15a2 there is more to strength than brute force as the eldar and tau display.
munguntulga 9 months ago
@munguntulga I agree, but that my friend is a different discussion entirely. This is the 40k Universe, strength is almost always measure by raw power. It wasnt implied that he was the weakest, it was flat out stated.
Bishop15a2 9 months ago
@Bishop15a2 Don't know about that, i think that implies to orks only. If that were true man would've gone extinct long ago in the 40k universe. The deceiver is the weakest of the other 3 yes but not the weakest c'tan.
munguntulga 9 months ago
@munguntulga The race of man holds literally almost no "strength" of its own, they survive purely by the will of their god emperor (who I think is dead). He is the only reason man still exist. If the C'tan don't rise to power again then most likely the Tyranids will consume this galaxy like they have done many others (brute force at its finest). I personally dont think the Ork banners uniting would be fair or any fun to watch. As for the C'tan, again merely speculation on my part.
Bishop15a2 9 months ago
@vader228 Impossible, The Laughing God was with Khaine in the warp when he fought Slaneesh. C'tan have no affinity to the warp and find it an impossible to inhabbit being that there are purely of the mateial universe(The warp being the immaterial counter part). Therefore they can not be the same.
Bishop15a2 9 months ago
@Bishop15a2 Maybe you are right. BUT, there is too many connections between Laughing God and Deceiver. I have a theory: Laughing God is directly manipulated by the Deceiver. Its more possible.
vader228 9 months ago 2
@vader228
Or the laughing god is the deceiver ;]

shockywatt 7 months ago
@shockywatt Yeah,i heard about it. I think its possible,i think its true. Necrons and Tyranids NEVER attacked eachother. Its something more then just fear of being destroyed by the necrons(some people think it is).Look this way,Nightbringer and Deceiver have necrons all over galaxy,Void Dragon is sleeping on Mars and is worshiped by the Techpriests. We dont know much about the Outsider .Only that he is insane and exiled by his own kind(which isnt very sane itself).

the necron army is the fucking largest and most variable of all, its just they do not awake....the great Deceiver, however is NOT the one who killed the oter C'tan, the one who did this is the Nightbringer, the most powerfull and fearsome of all C'tan, the deceiver tried to made him killed, cause he feared for the C'tan race at least....but he failed with it, the Nightbringer coulndt be slain and just fall into sleep for million years...but he is awaken know...

what is ctan god?
herogamez12 1 year ago
@herogamez12

Hawktotalwar 1 year ago
@Hawktotalwar Necrons are the souls of a dead race shackled to undying robotic bodies, who serve their Star Gods, the C'tan, by killing the living to harvest their souls for the gods to eat. The Necrons are now slowly waking up from a long slumber.
There are four of the C'tan left (though there used to be more) the Deathbringer, the Deceiver, the Void Dragon (locked away in Mars, may actually be the Machine Spirit of the Techpriests) and the Other (trapped in a Dyson sphere).

xpururux 1 year ago
@xpururux You mean that big floating guy? That's one of the Necron Lord's two transformations (relic weapons for the Necron); the deceiver. He doesn't have an attack, but he's got some really nasty tricks like causing enemies to fight amongst themselves and stuff like that. The other is the Deathbringer, in which he's basically an extremely hard hitting reaper-like guy that's almost impossible to kill.
IdleBigots 1 year ago
@IdleBigots You mean the Nightbringer, not the Deathbringer.
If I recall correctly, when the Necron Lord transforms into the Nightbringer or the Deceiver, he becomes invincible. He can be damaged again when he transforms back into the Necron Lord, but if he transformed into the Nightbringer, then the Necron Lord heals for an amount equal to all the points of damage he dealt while transformed.
The Nightbringer and the Deceiver are two of the C'tan Gods.

Maybe. Even Games Workshop doesn't know if the Void Dragon is entombed on Mars. It was one of those "Oh ,well a history writer thinks it should be like that, so... whatever" things.

donicTH 1 year ago 127
@donicTH Makes sense. The most prominent necron units are crypt spyders and lords. and what are they mostly used for? Recovery and reconstruction of broken necrons. That's recon work. No, scratch that. That's medic work.
The most powerful necrons with seen so far are not even primary combat units. They're MEDICAL STAFF.
When the actual necron soldiers awake... Emperor help us all.
gams23 1 year ago 4
@gams23 TOMB spyders the most powerful unit? Err, we have two units that are fractions of gods. And you're saying immortals aren't powerful? Or destroyers, heavy destroyers? And you don't think a monolith can cause more damage than a tomb spyder? Lol
Gruntoffry 1 year ago
@Gruntoffry Yeah, tomb spiders are great for soaking up damage with T6, 2 wounds and a 3+ save, and a a support unit, are only beaten by the lord because of their ability to give whole squads that have been destroyed a WBB roll, if there's not another unit of the same type within 6", but still on the board. But they're no way the most powerful unit.
I'd have to say that Destroyers were the most versatile.
The Nightbringer is easily the most powerful, though.
Vehementi 1 year ago
@Vehementi soaking up damage if someone decides to actually go for them instead of what's damaging them. if your warriors got mowed down and you need a tomb spyder, that's your fault. and the nightbringer? eh, deciever gets one less attack, one less strength, and one more initiative, plus all of his abilities. the nightbringer's and the deciever's attacks are pretty much exactly the same.
Gruntoffry 1 year ago
@Gruntoffry Except because TS are such good SUPPORT units, they're not supposed to damage. They're not meant to cause damage, they're meant to keep the units that do cause damage "alive".
The Deciever's more of a support unit, skill-wise, and the Nightbringer's more suited towards attacking in CC.
Vehementi 1 year ago
@Vehementi I don't use TS, anyway. I prefer to spend my H. Support choices on 'liths and H. Destroyers.
