@GenyaArikado Well, that's the second part of that level, as I'm sure you know, the song's called Pressure. Simple, yet it conveys the sense of urgency for that part of the game very well. That's one of the hardest things for a VG composer to do; creating the right song for a particular area of a game. This is what I'm in school studying to do, and it's not easy. Kudos to Yoshinori Sakaki and Jun Funahashi for doing so well on this game (and Contra, too!).
@aquasaber oh, good to hear that. I've never heard of Yoshinori Sakaki before because i know they aren't famous. But i'm aware of all the other castlevania osts out there cause i listen to them dayly. The music for contra is also good but not as good IMO. Which is your personal favorite castlevania ost ?
@GenyaArikado My favorite... that's a toss-up. CV3 and Super CV 4 are two of the best. I really like how several other composers have re-arranged some of the classic tracks for the portable games though. Order of Ecclesia and Portrait of Ruin come to mind. A lot of the tracks from PoR are arrangements of songs from Bloodlines for the Genesis/Mega Drive, all of which rank right up there. In general, I think that CV as a series has some of the best music in video gaming.
@aquasaber I fully agree with that CV as a series has some of the best music in video gaming. My favorite is SOTN and then CV 4. PoR had a really good OST and i definetely loved the arrangements. I really like the video game music from Nobuo Uematsu and Motoi Sakuraba too.
@GenyaArikado To be fair, there are a few really good western game composers too. Jeremy Soules (The Elder Scrolls III & IV) and Matt Uelmen (Diablo & Diablo II) come to mind. But within the realm of Japanese composing for games, there's definitely a lot of talent. I also really, REALLY like Kenichiro Fukui'ssoundtrack for Square's Einhander. The music fits that game perfectly.

@aquasaber i havent heard anything with Kenichiro Fukui. Will look him up. What did you think of mega man 9 & 10 osts then ^^ ? pretty nostalgic, right? :)
@GenyaArikado Mega Man 9, absolutely. 10... not so much. That soundtrack's very forgettable. To be fair though, that whole game doesn't measure up IMO, to MM9. That game was a return to form for Capcom, I was proud to be a retro gamer when it came out.
@aquasaber Yeah, but i still think Strike Man, Nitro Man and the Wily stages had awesome music in Mega Man 10. I'm a retro gamer as well so i often play old 2-D games on emulators. I'm a collector and i don't know this but have you played any Nes emulators ? Is Nestopia familiar ?
@GenyaArikado Nestopia's familiar, yes. I'm currently using FCEUX, and WAY back in the day (early '90s) I was using Nesticle out of DOS. I've actually played on almost every game system ever created. I think the only ones I haven't at least held a controller for are the Magnavox Odyssey, the Bandai's Wonderswan series of handhelds, and the Japanese version of the TurboGrafx, the PC Engine.
@aquasaber Oh so you did use Nesticle ^^ i used it when i was 13. Ten years ago. It was good times, however my brother is the creator of Nestopia. I really think it's neat that you can rewind whenever you want. It's a powerful tool. I've played Rondo Of Blood on PC Engine. Really nice but difficult game. I have almost completed every castlevania game there is.
I remember this from Circle of the Moon the most =) that's one of my favorite castlevania games ever, i play it alot and I love the music in it for how good the soundtrack flow is, even if it is the GBA it has a very nice flow and clean beats and music. ^^ I can tell they worked well on CotM, not too easy and not too hard either. Gamespot gave it a 9.8 too. It does deserve it ^^ I love the music from them hehe
Amazing song, but what's more amazing is the part between 1.38 - 2.23 ! ^^

The first few seconds are always my favorite in this song and it's counterparts.

the rythm in the nes version makes it more epic than Cotm's version (:

In my opinion it's hard to tell if this one or CotM has the better version of Aquarius, I like them both though :)
