cap. america was awesome but the comic tells alot about the sociaty coupled with final crisis and blackest night i think people have become corrupt not their essence per say but their mind familys are not as close as they should be and people lake that warmth and clearness like a polished diamond people aren't as open as they should be or maybe its just cause i know the lights their but its covered up.

Wow, I'm amused at how wrong this clip gets it. The comic nerds they interviewed are conflating the Captain America as Symbol and Captain America as Man arguments. Anybody who has read some of the more recent Captain America story arcs know the character was struggling very much with his position as a symbol, which means he ISN'T a symbol anymore. This is mainly the reason I've fallen in love with Cap all over again - he knows he's a fossil and it hurts him sometimes. Comics kill chars often.

I find it funny how a fictional character can cause people to act so passionately, but the the real people who work everyday to preserve our freedom get none of the attention. Wow, I'm amused at how wrong this clip gets it. The comic nerds they interviewed are conflating the Captain America as Symbol and Captain America as Man arguments. Anybody who has read some of the more recent Captain America story arcs know the character was struggling very much with his position as a symbol, which means he ISN'T a symbol anymore. This is mainly the reason I've fallen in love with Cap all over again - he knows he's a fossil and it hurts him sometimes. Comics kill chars often.

I just love how the one girl that works in a comic book store was so wrong as to why they were killing him off. Saying an inane comment that Captain America "... lost touch with the modern world". The man was timeless and moved along with the times. He knew how to use computers and technology because he was there when each particular technology came into being and use. So JKRowling changed the plot and decided not to kill Harry Potter afterall. Just for the kids

Batman WAS a symbol. He, like others (rorschach) was a vigilante that was fed up with incompetent law enforcement methods and stood up against a law system that benefited the criminal side of society and left the victims to suffer.
