(I know all about the Zyuranger, Zyu2, Dairanger situation btw) I wonder if Sabon watches this fan edit and thinks "God we should've stuck with the Zyuranger,Zyu2, MMPR formula instead of making our own crap." American getting the exclusive Zyu2 footages for MMPR was the reason MMPR was aired in Japan. The original Zyuranger series ended after the Doomsday episodes, Japanese audience didn't get to see them until MMPR. Fortunately though I don't see why Toei didn't air those extra episodes as bonus content when they made the Gokaiger Zyuranger tribute episode.

Nobody was losing interest. If anything, the switch to the Thunderzords so early caused less interest in the show. Were you really entertained by the rushed Dairanger Zord fights? All of them were just: *Gattai-Punch Monster-Take Damage-Thunder Sabre*

Exactly. The only reason Saban brought the Thunderzords in early is so they could introduce the toys quickly for poor parents to buy. Don't forget MMPR was 60 episodes long with Dinozords alone, how much longer still would it have been? They just got lazy after that, they used barely a fraction of the Japanese footage for the Thunderzords in total, though they did partly make up for it by creating American Thunderzords for the last few Series 2 eps, even if that was so they could be destroyed.

I guess a lot of Power Rangers fans are thinking the same thing I am. Why didn't Saban just use the rest of the Zyu2 monster fotage as it was presented and then introduce Lord Zedd and the Thunderzaords, along with the actual Dairanger costumes too would have been nice, the exsisting rangers could have needed to upgrade their powers as well as zords. I guess Saban thought that the zord change was more important and just decided to alter the Zyu2 footage without giving it another thought.

Saban could have upgraded their powers later in the season, but then you're right, back then everyone wasent aware of Power Rangers' true origins until the internet came by and the demand was to keep the Zyuranger costumes. Oh my apoligies for several spelling mistakes in my last post.

That and the fact, Dairanger had many bladed and so-called violent weaponry and fighting styles, such as the DaiRods headpieces and the KirinRanger's fighting style was the Chinese Drunken style, which could have been seen as racism being that Trini is asian. At the same time, they used the Chinese art of Aura and Chi, which would have had the religious nutjobs all over their asses about teaching their kids "religion things".

A very notticible reason as to why they didn't use the orioginal Japanese footage. What Saban could have done was imported the Dairanger costumes (and some of the Dairanger monsters) and filmed their own battle sequences. But both Ban Dai and Saban agreed to keep the Zyuranger costumes in use.

i know what you're saying. to this day i wish they had kept the dinozords as long as possible, because i so identified them with the show. "the mutiny" premiered while i was at the beach with my family and when the dinozords were gone i cried for like an hour.

but anyway, it sure seems to me like the thunderzords were brought in with the express purpose of selling toys.

I'm thinking maybe they could have used a monster from DaiRanger like Father Magnet (Magnetbrain) to bring about the zord change. A storyline could have said that his magnetic powers were too much for the old Dinozords to handle, and that they needed to upgrade to Thunderzords. This would have been the perfect way to introduce the new zords, and then use Bargon String (Pipebrain) for Battle #2, and Lipstick Songstress (Lipsyncher) for Battle #3.

We'd have a zord fight for, atleast, Bloom of Doom that included the awesome Lokar, we wouldn't have been faced with junk Zyu2/Dai footage splicing, the Thunder Megazord would not have been depicted as useless, the list is a long one.

Its true that Toei COULD do a fight scene w/ both the TM & DZ they r seen in the same episode BUT NEVER TOGETHER in the same battle scene. by the way do u kno if Primator is in the Zyuranger Sentai or JUST Zyu2 footage?

I guess Toei was kind of upset because they spent a lot of production money to shoot a lot of extra footage for the Megazord and Dragonzord for Power Rangers that ended up not being used. I think they viewed it as money wasted because they put up a lot of extra time for it because they were shooting that while they were doing Dairangers.

I don't think they would have really been upset because Saban had already bought the Dairanger zord footage, which he used to replace the Zyu2 zord footage, plus the ranger battles from the Zyu2 footage was still used. I would however, like to see the actual zord footage from some of these Zyu2 episodes.

Well something somewhat similar happened in Zyuranger. After Cyclopsis and Lokar were destroyed, the Megazord (a sentient entity in Zyurager) sealed all of the villains in jar. It was originally scripted for Power Rangers to end that way, but it was dropped because the show turned to be far more popular then expected.

The Green Thunderzord is used, though it is piloted by Zack and Adam. I can't remember the reason why, but that's how it is.

That is true, the "Lion Thunderzord" was the green rangers zord in dairanger. However, that's not exaclty what I meant. What I meant was, if Tommy as the green ranger was able to run a "thunderzord", how would it look. Obviously that wouldn't happen because there was no footage for something like that. But if Saban had decided to keep the green ranger, and film their own footage, I wonder what the green Tommy's thunderzord would have been.

Actually in an early episode of Voltron the monster beat up the separate machines several times when they tried to combine, and in Kakuranger Gasha Dokuro prevented the Kakurangers from summoning Muketi Shogun when he fought them as a giant once, but that's the only exceptions I can think off.

You don't have to worry about copyright issues in regards to something like this. The only time you have to worry about it is when you are using the Power Ranger footage to make money for yourself without Disney's knowledge and not giving Disney its share. Otherwise, go ahead and continue what you're doing.

There are obvious mistakes. The ABC Family logo appears and reappears, the audio changes a bit and you can see the Thunder Sabre as Primator is exploding. You know how people know that Primator was meant to be destroyed by Ultrazord? Because he exploded rather than having a slice effect. Soccadillo, Rhinoblaster, Pirantishead, Primator, Robogoat and Turbanshell were all suposed to be destroyed by Ultrazord.
