  • HOW COME SOME MARCH IN WHITE AND SOME OTHER GRADS IN OTHER VIDEOS MARCH IN BLACK COATS? IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?

  • This brings back memories.. I was at RTC GL in Feb. 1988. Company 050... PO Ballentine was my CC. Great memories.. Thanks

  • It looks cool, but when you're the one standing there in attention and parade rest for 2 hours it sucks!! lol You can't do nothing!!! Hooyah Navy!

  • @cantugabe me 2!!

  • My boyfriend is going through this right now :')

  • mine is too!

  • you can never walk where you wanna walk in great lakes. you don't step on any grass and you always follow a pattern. it sucks cuz you got no freedom whatsoever during "P days" and sometimes they won't let you shower for like 5 days and everyone stinks

  • Im soon to be in this position

  • My son is at Great Lakes right now going through boot camp.

  • do they still play that song at the cap exchange?

  • This is the same place that my grandpa was at when he joined the Navy. He says that when he was there it got so cold that they still had to swim

  • @2wolfcry

    FFFFUUUUUU

I am going in the middle of January.

  • This brings back some memories. Went into the Navy in 1965, graduated boot camp in Feb of 1966 but did not have a parade because ADM Nimitz passed away and all the "brass" went up to his funeral. Had to do mess cooking for about six months but the month I turned 18 the navy sent me to Vietnam(happy birthday)! I retired after serving 23 years . I was proud of what I did and the service. I was proud of the young men and women I trained and lead in my final years in service.

  • I just found this beautiful video. We go this week to see our son graduate on 9/16 and I am awed with the discipline and pride that all these sailors carry into this event. God bless all our service people and I hope they always know how proud we are of them.

  • wow, in the army all we got was hearded into a theator listened to save a horse ride a cowboy and that was about it, damn and navey was my first choice lol

  • I start boot camp on oct 4 and im so scared of messing up in the drill part every thing else is easy for me

  • I have a question, when they do a counter march. Do the guidons still lean the guidon on their belly on the dress whites? Won't that get the Guidon's dress white jumper dirty?

  • Ship Date Oct. 24th 2011

  • This is just a beautiful amazing video! Thank you! My son graduates in two weeks. I can't wait to be there to see him. God bless all of our men and women and their families serving this blessed Nation world wide! God Bless The United States of America! Go Navy!

  • I was in that Division 238... Great Time...

  • I graduated from GLTC on Flag Day, June 14, 1967 in a special ceremony at Soldiers Field in Chicago. 10,000 sailors came together to participate. After we circled the field we gathered in the middle with colored cloths over our head to form a giant American Flag which was photographed from the air and broadcast on the news.It was an amazing day, as is any day when a young American successfully completes the first step in serving their country. Thanks for sharing....Great Video!

  • soon to bne me

  • wonderful video. Thank you to all those who have served. Cant wait to fulfill my navy dream pretty soon.

  • i've always wanted to be able to play drums like they do at 5:30

Navy drill to that fag nazi music.........so gay!

  • CAN'T WAIT TO BE THERE after highschool

  • i like how they have positioned the black kids, here and there, in order to make a nice balanced pattern, lol

  • @erion628 :S

  • @erion628 what? you want em to be in one big group? sounds like segregation man.

  • @erion628 ~FYI~ In formation the Sailors are positioned according to height (a height line), unless they are designate a special role (RPOC, AROC, Flag Bearer, etc) The formation is NOT configured according to accommodate for race nor in an effort "to make a nice balanced pattern."

    Best of luck over there!!!

  • @Luishazong Your going to have to salute me, only lazy people go in the military as enlisted. Im going to medical school next year and the navy is going to pay for everything, and im going to come in the navy as an O3. Be smart kids dont join right after high school, go to college, come in as an officer and get paid way more.

  • @AtheneLoseslul You dont know what you are talking about, and you have a disgusting attitude. Just so you know, I was studying International Relations at University but couldnt wait for 3 more years to start serving my country and living the Navy life. So it has nothing to do with LAZY. I left my family, my friends and my entire life back in Mexico City just to have the honor to be in the Navy.

So really think twice before you open your big mouth.

  • @Luishazong god bless you for serving our country il be doin the same but im joinin the marines i respect all branches we all defend this country

  • @Luishazong y yo a sinaloa

    GO NAVY!!!

  • @AtheneLoseslul you and your attitude disgraces the navy

  • @AtheneLoseslul if you talk to an e9 like that and try to pull rank you are going to have a bad time in the navy

  • @Luishazong Yo i leave the same day!

    #Cool

  • @SwiftB100 Thats sick bro! We will be seein each other at Boot Camp!

  • @Luishazong I'm glad your proud. Wear your uniform with pride!

  • @Luishazong dude I'll probably see you there, starting 1st of Sept.

  • @Luishazong Best of luck!

  • @Luishazong the black uniforms are called blues. they look a hell of alot better but they are the damn itchiest things

  • Im shipping out july 18!

    pretty excited!

  • Their uniforms are gay.. thats whi i chose the marines.

  • @taker1292 ...you made your decision of a military branch upon a uniform? yeah you def belong in the marines

  • @Luishazong yep.. the few the proud.. that why we got, better uniforms, better ranks and most repect

  • @:44. SO AMAZING!! My fiance graduates the 25th(next friday) and will be the first division to come in! Can't wait to see him. I'm so proud of him:)

  • I ship out for boot in Aug.

I won't lie, I'm already starting to get Nervous.

  • @xZeroGravityDeath Dude i ship out August toom!! on the 16th jajajaja I'm freaking excited!!! xD Yea It's gonna rock :P xD jaja

  • @xZeroGravityDeath DONT!!!, I think it will be the best experience of my life! (or not haha) but i sure cant wait to live something like that, its a once in a lifetime thing!

Be positive and enjoy every minute of it, take it for what it is, it wont be a walk in the park, but love each thing for what it is, i dunno to much BS hahaha but youll like it!, i know i will!! :D (I leave in Sept )

  • Wow this video is so much better with the mute button on! haha just playin jeff, i appreciate a look inside of the Great lakes basic training, thank you. Ima be shipping out to boot on June 13. and in the words bart scott, " CAN'T WAIT"!!

  • @eaglepoacher You'll have a blast...well first week or so isn't the best, but it gets better, and it's a piece of cake, got any questions about what "really" goes down shoot me a message, Good luck future shipmate!

  • i know you only get 4 tickets for family to come to the graduation. but are there any exceptions for only 2 more people??

  • @betty5boop it just depends on how many divisions are graduating that day. This friday only 7 are and my sailor said that if we bring a few more, after everyone is already in thats on the list, they will be able to get in.

  • @heimy1227 oh ok thanks so much (: thats what my brother said too! (:

  • Great video. I graduated from here back in 1964. I guess about the only difference is that we were in the old drill hall and in dress blues. Thanks for the memories, love it.

  • this looks like the huge hangar i was in when i went to pensacola for the NJROTC national competition, same lanes on the ground and everything.

  • thanks for the post, flying out to the Lakes tomorrow to see my son graduate....hell Lee, you ALREADY have me tearing up! :)

  • oh and i remember the hard hard work saying the sailors creed with every1 at rtc

  • i was a snare drummer in my boot camp in 2006. honestly if you play an instrument try out for it. it lets the time go by faster

  • Oh, this was a fun day! But definitely remember the countless hours of practice it took to prepare for this...along with all the other crap we went through, LOL. Wouldn't trade it or any my navy experience for the world though

  • My daughter enlisted in the US Navy this past Friday, she leaves for MEPS tomorrow. THis video is AWESOME!!!

  • @BabyBlu809 so your daughter probably just graduated right?

    Thats awesome!

  • been in about a year now , this shit was so gay .... had to stand there for 2 and a half hours . lawl

  • I graduated in August 1986... Company 174... THANK YOU for this video!!

  • navy is for fags

  • @Victorm1982 go say that to a SEAL kid.

  • @Victorm1982 Your a faggot kid

  • Drumline butchered the drumlin cadence.

  • Great stuff...the music is the icing on the cake. I graduated in December of 1994 (Company 025). I still have my graduation on VHS (somewhere). Thanks so much for posting this.

  • I remember when my brother graduated.I was sooooooo proud of him. He was Div. 319. My brother was part of the "head duty" i think its called. He had to clean the bathrooms lol. When they called Liberty me and my sister ran down the bleachers and knocked over like 10 people lol. it was the best day of our lives and especially Mike's best day. Semper Fortis Sailors. God Bless America and to those fighting for her.!

  • We didn't have the Drum Line performance in Orlando. It was a real Military review, not a High School drum line show. WTH has the Navy come to??

  • @enklive, I just graduated Oct 8 2010, The whole ceromony is about 2 hours total, or at least thats what it seems like for us standing there lol but its worth it its a good thing to watch, u wont be dissapointed

  • i used to work at the ihop down the road from this place, always loved when graduation happend cause we made a lot of money :-D

  • i went to boot camp here has anyone besides myself noticed that it's only whites and american born blacks that serve. why is that? no hibes, mussies, bin laden, asians, jamaicans, hatians, or any other third world welfare cheat that comes here for the free welfare benefits that this stupid country hands out while our taxes go up to support these foreign bums. at least this is what goes on in the large cities where you see the cells of them in millions. when is this F*&^ country going to wake up.

  • @rammstein11004 idk what you're talking about shipmate, the first thing i noticed when i reported to my first command was the large amount of foreigners serving, with me being one...especially asians and hispanics, thers a lot of them

  • @mbaretta71 thank you how about hibeebs and ragheads carribeans, jamaicans , hatians africans, ones here but just robbing the country blind from free benefits that they don't deserve or never earned welfare, food stamps free medical ,housing SSD SS and Workers Comp how the F*&^ they qualify for that who the F*&^ knows the country is so F up.. but anyway thanks for the good news i m glad to see that some progress is being made along some lines but they should still reenact the draft thats fair.

  • Was in bootcamp there November 1981 CO 412 Color Company

  • Go great lakes! I cant wait till im old enough to inlist!

  • I was graduated from Great Lakes in 1964. I would do it over again in a heartbeat.

  • What a great video......thank you so much, now i know what to expect when i go Nov. 12th..........

  • My daughter just went thru this, thanks for posting this...

  • How long are graduations normally? I'm going the first week of November to see my boyfriend graduate.

  • @EnKLive mine was awhile ago but i think it was about an hour.

  • Watched my cousin graduate from basic there in November 2000. Very great experience

  • I remember being there in 2003 to watch my husbands graduation. It was awesome to be there and feel that pride.

  • I remember that day, May 23, 1987

  • I'm excited to see my best friend graduation.

  • do they play that song when you graduate? its soo great, makes you feel proud.

  • @Titha123 no, the only real music is when all the divisions sing anchors away. and let me tell you, you will never feel more proud in your life then on that day.

  • I was just up there the 17th to watch my now husband graduate. I am so proud of him. We got married up there on the beach the day after. I thank each and every one of the individuals who went through this. My husband was the lead snare in the drum core. Thank you so much. We are truly blessed to have brave ones among us.

I was there too!! My son graduated, Div 309!! Congratulations to you and your husband!

  • Respond to this video..

  • why do some grads were white and some wear black

  • @tanner511

Depends on the time of the year, summer/white, winter, black.

  • Peanut Butter Shot.

  • 1982-1986 Co- 105 I went to boot camp and MM-A school there. the winters were rough a lot of snow and wind. carrying around rifles that didnt shoot sounded strange to me back then. things recruiters dont tell you. ASMO being set back a week in boot camp. if you failed one of there weekly tests. some guys were doing an extra 2-3 weeks of boot camp. MTU which i had to do once myself ,while everybody else gets to go to sleep you get to do an hour of rifle PT. they have a ambulance standing by .

  • wow i was holding a flag that day in that room

  • its hard to believe that one day ill be standing in that room...assuming i graduate lol

march 29th is the day i leave :-)

  • i graduated from great lakes boot camp in may of 1979, co 060.

  • i graduated from great lakes boot camp in march of 1979, co 060.

  • @CGurl508 navy yes butall the others are diffferent

  • @elvensungoddess Thanks :)

  • i remember when my husband graduated. i was sooo happy to see him. i like your video

  • I graduated from this same hall in 1990, co. 948. I only did four years, but I can honestly say this graduation was the best, surreal. Unless you actually did it, there is no words. I recognize this hall, I ran miles of laps around it. It was all men recruits back then, every friday you could smell the perfume from the tours going around. I wouldn't change it if I could, had a great experience the entire time.

  • Graduated 91 company 936 State Flag Co. RTC Great Lakes. It took me back also. Any chance you got you slept, even at parade rest. Had a blast there.

  • This took me back in time. Graduated from Great Lakes BC... ('86-'92) 5 yrs on USS Dwight D. Eisenhower out of Norfolk.

  • Thank you very much for this video! I really like the music and the whole idea it give me, I'll be ready!! My son graduation will be in less than a month and I'll be there!

  • My aunt is graduating in a week! Too bad I won't be at her graduation!

  • Thank you! My son is currently at Boot Camp, his best friend graduated today, so, your video helped immensely! Thank you.

  • I loved this. My boyfriend just left for boot camp a few days ago- not knowing his general orders, face movements or anything really necessary to spare a few pushups. But I know that by the end, he will be one of the proud sailors of the US. I'm next- Leaving november 15th.

  • @EyeSowwyMama Waaao your boyfriend must be with my son, he graduate in abouth a month. Their doing okay, I'm so proud to be a parent of a sailor of the USA, congratulation, for your boyfriend and for you too, Thank you all for your service!

  • @mafaldalyn Division 306, ship 9! He's graduating September 10th and I'm going up to see it! :) Thank you so much for that.

  • @EyeSowwyMama Congratulations!! My son graduated 8/6/10. ship 12, Div 268. It was absolutely wonderful. Make sure you bring a box of tissue. When those doors open and you see all the sailors march in. You are going to feel so proud, you will cry.

  • @s4andy63 Oh I know I will. He called me today after completing Battle Stations and he said that when the RDC shook his hand he broke down completely. I'm flying out tomorrow. Crying just thinking about it. Lol.

  • They destroyed the barracks that me and my dad both served in Building 3. 77' and 01'.

  • Im not saying that the Navy, the army, and the airforce are week cuz thay are not. but im just gunna say that the Marines are the best of the best.

  • @MrKaLiWaYz you do realize that navy seals instruct and train marines right?

  • @MrKaLiWaYz haha best of the "cannon meat" u mean

  • this is amazing my husband is graduating this thursday.. to see this video i almost cried just thinking about seeing him

  • my son is out there in great lakes, enduring boot camp right now. he graduates 8/13. thanks to them all.

  • My fiancee is in Navy basic training...I'm so proud of him, and grateful for all people who serve in all branches of the US military :)

  • LOL this song almost made me not want to go to bootcamp.

  • this song is gay as fuck. navy grad beast though.

  • WEEK ASS SONG

  • This video is wonderful, the song is the song that we heard after we passed what is called battle stations which is an all night drill scenario that breaks us down physically and emotionally. IT is the culmination of all the training and physical fitness that we prepare through the whole time we are at bootcamp. IT is an emptional time when we take off our "recruit" ball caps and exchange them for Navy ballcaps.

  • great song!
