  • Just went and got me a RM1X today , on page 39 of the manual now , but got to get some sleep before i tackle the rest ,. had some great fun today playing with the preset patterns, there is some good stuff to use as a basis to get going.

  • Retro + Dubstep = Respect :)

  • Tight tune. Great use of the RM1X.

  • ....good, wow, i have one....how do you make the drops ?

  • @jazikata if you thing that amen break drops, I´m using pitch up and down to a track with drum loop ;)

  • @Outyou23 Thanks, i think at the little pauses....i don't know if are drops...sorry i'm noob, i would like to make dubstep drops (but for sure i need a better learning on the machine).

  • seems something between drum n bass and dubstep

  • I agree with everyone else. Quite a feat you've pulled off here. Well done

  • Woah hold on there sport, the Amen Break is loaded into the RM1x? DAMN.

  • @MooseHeadMoosic nope , he programmed loop and recorded pitch bend controller knob movements ect.....

  • @haggisbasheruk

    uh

but the amen snare is right there, yo

  • really nice work out of the RM1X

  • nice work

  • Damn this is sick, the best song from the rm1x that Ive heard on here, Do you sell your songs?

  • This is pretty fucking sick. I'm using a buddy's RM1x because we have one in the studio and I know it has a lot of production potential, but no of us have taken the time to really learn it, so I'm taking on the challenge.

  • Great job, congratulations! I have the unit myself so I understand what you've done there and it's great! Never thought of using my old equipment for something so modern. Glad you proved me wrong! :)

  • @SONGSTICKS Yes see page 36 , there you will see you can even setup individual midi tracks to midi out instead of the RM1X,s Tone Generator

  • Better than all the demo presets of that beast. Nice work Dude, sounds great, you give the will to get mine out of its box were it sleeps since 2006... :)

  • Great work just shows that an old bit of kit can keep up with modern gear if you go deep enough.

  • Do you use any midi function or any Vst from PC?

  • @MrSkiagrafhma no , its sequnced on RM1x with internal sounds only :)

  • I just inherited my step dads rm1x and I am just clueless on how to use it I barely figured out how to change the voices any tips on how to create a pattern?

  • gret song, how do you make that wobble bass on the rm1x ??

  • Sick song due, great work! i don't understand though how this video says all the sounds are from the rmx1, when you can't sample with it and that's clearly a drum sample of Amen Break. What's the deal? I have one of these, some dude left it at my house, and I've never even turned it on, if I can get these kinds of sounds out of it then i will for sure be using it. what patches are you using?

  • @motionate hi there, thanks :), in one drum patch (i thing is "jungle" or somthing like this, can't remember now) are sperated kick, snare and hit hat wich sounds like amen break. I simply create a loop with this 3 sounds and tweak a pitch knob.

  • i own one of these. it's great with a loop station and making improv noise music.

  • This is pretty sick man! Check my channel out, all done on a Korg Electribe, dead similar!

  • First dubstep song I've heard (and I've heard many) that I like. It is so funky

  • Hey Dude,

i love your dubstep sound on the rm1x, good job!

But, how do you make the bass drops and pauses?

  • Realy good!

  • GOOD!

  • Hi, can i ask some things ?

how you make pauses and bass drops ? i'm trying with my rm1x but i didn't find a good way to do...

You are in pattern mode or chain pattern ?

    And your wobble bass ?

Thanks, good, your video was the one that convince dme to buy this machine ;-)

  • Very good demo. Drum sounds good on this machine.

  • Super! Kdes to koupil :)

  • good work...

  • That Track is Banging RM1X is a god!!

    Morph

  • Can u write down what presets you've been using?

    And internal or external sounds?

  • very nice jam!

  • I'm serious when I say this is one of the best dubstep I've heard, usually I'm not a big fan of the genre but you got groove man!

  • Haha!! nice one, I had one of these for a while but never made it sound like this!

  • great sound man! :)

  • getting alot out of a little here I see. well done

  • Would you be so kind as to disclose which synth you used for the bassline as and its parameters?

  • love the drums actually..

  • this is the 5th time I search for this song. I really like your dubstyle dude! well done! nice job!

  • This is so beautiful... Is it up for download? Please? lol

  • hey dude! this is really good man! actually thanks to this video i wanna buy one too!!!

  • Dudeeeee! I like this. Where would i find this machine? i cant seem to find it anywhere.

  • cool track!! well done

  • thought this was sick man :) props

  • Does the RM1x come with the amen break loop sample? Or did you load it onto the RM somehow?

    Love the tune :)

  • @Dubersive There are zero samples on the RM1X. If you want an amen break (albeit played out) you'd have to sample it yourself on a different machine or just make one yourself on the RM1X

  • I have an Rs 7000, Did you sample that wobble bass in and tweak it ?

I have been trying for awhile to get a good wobble out of the rs with limited results.

    good track man real decent

  • Excellent son, vive le RM1X :)

  • i used it for tech and d'n'b tracks only too.. btw really really nice track.. 5 stars *thumbs up

  • sick i have one of these i think i wanna go play it now!

  • Sounds reallly sick. Thinking about getting this machine but not too sure yet. This thing sounds great though. Great song aswell. Excellent video.

  • I'm not too big into dubstep, but seeing an old box do this is epic.

  • man I love this song...

  • could you send me the mp3 of this?

youtube quality sucks and i love this tune :D

  • this little bastard sounds better than my emx and costs nearly the half of it X.X

  • great tune! would you mind doing a tutorial on how to creat that dubstep base?

  • great tune! would you mind doing a tutorial on how to creat that dubstep base?

  • NICE,NICE,NICE!!!!

  • Good work man, hardware all the way brah!

  • tyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttt!!!

  • Hi,

I've been looking at Korg Electribes and the RM1X on youtube with a view to buying one. My friend reckons this rm1x isn't a patch on a korg, but I'm not convinced. THANKS TO YOU !! :)

This track sounds every bit as good as all the electribe clips I've seen... If not better.

Can anyone throw some light or an opinion on this dilemma for me please !!?

I also looked at am E-MU MP7 which looks pretty groovy too !!

  • I think they're both good.

Some of the Korgs have deeper synth engines, not just ROMpler based.

I believe the RM1x has the better featured sequencer for controlling external gear.

I think RM1x cops some bad publicity for its internal sounds; however, I think it's a matter of how the sounds are used.

  • Thanks for that..

That's interesting what you say about the sequencer being better. I have a Yamaha DJXIIB which is considered rubbish in terms of it's sounds. but fed through a Roland EF303, Kaoss pad and an Alesis airFX.. some awesome stuff can be produced. But here's the thing alot of people don't realise, is that it's midi clock capabilities are second to none.. worth buying one for that alone !!

I have a friend who used to be a sound engineeer for pink floyd who swears by them for that.

  • @SONGSTICKS

    i've got the eletribe mx1

and i have to say that this thing sounds better ^^

but looks more complicated in the handling

  • BTW, is the RM1x the only sound source used here?

    Cheers

  • Yes only RM1x :) Thanks

  • @Outyou23

Very very impressive work! you have skills!

  • Awesome. Really great work. Thanks for the post.

  • fucking great tune!greetings from germany

  • that exactly my cup of tea..devil's beat..thanx to builder..

  • Awesome, something to learn folks, the pitch bending is just awesome, the only thing I would like is you to make more ;) please? make more so the world will be happy? or at least youtubers...

  • this is great!

  • whats better for dnb breakbeats?

    rm1x or mc505

  • Beat that Shit!!!!!

  • i own one of these too. just thought i'd say this is extremely good. good job man im jealous

  • This was really good!!!

  • fuckin' great!

  • great tune

  • Very nice work, great tune. I've owned an RM1X for years now and never could get the bass that thick.

Did you run it through some eqing and compression?

  • je super videt ze i Cesi umi dubstep :]

    Hezkej track!

  • hezká práce...skoro sem si rikal, že bych si RMXko pořídil....:)

  • díky :) je to uplně první pattern co sem na rm1x udělal, je to dobrá "hračka" :)

  • hey, im thinking about buying one of these, and i saw it for sale at a second hand instrument store.. the only problem i saw with it was that the buttons on it required quite a lot of pressure to respond (more than my emx1) so i had to give them a good tap for the sound to come out on keyboard mode... is this how the machine is made, or is the one i saw faulty? i dont wanna buy something that doesnt work the way its supposed to.

  • don't worry, its normal, . When you writting a pattern or tuening on/of parts it's not a problem, but when you play on this buttons as a keyboard it isn't so good, but you can connect some midi keyboard to RM1x via midi. :)

  • sweet, thanks... i might get a better price cause of it... but yeah i never thought of controlling it midi keyboard.. also how do you find the wave editing functions on it for the synth??? do you have many control options???

  • @Outyou23 how did you make that fast breakbeat on the machine?

  • fucking rites! im waiting for mine to arrive :-)

  • very very good, I like the tune and the rm1x of course

  • sick tune!

  • Very good sound mate! keep up!

  • You've got that DUB down Bro! Great Track!

  • Zehr Gut! Very Good! Tons and tons of shity demos here and there`s one like a shiny diamond

  • Absolutley amazing !!!

Got myself an mc-505 but so far I've only been playing around with the presets.

Hope to sound like you some day... ;)

Keep at it, we want moore!

  • shit i ve had this machine for almost 8 years and I have never been able to produce a bass line like that. How did you do it bro, its dope

this machine is so easy to use and is a great sequencer

  • How on earth was that wobble bassline made on the RM1X?

LFO modding the Cut Off? What sound was used?

    Great stuff!

  • my guess as rm1x owner would be that he overdub-recorded a cutoff-sweep using the cutoff knob.

i did that quite a few times. i loved to freak out with combinations of cutoff sweeps and manual lfo speed changes. since every midi event can be recorded in overdub mode you can play around with the conrols in real time and conserve what you did.

  • yes, you right :) ... i show it in my wobble bass tutorial

  • I just bought one of these, it arrives next week, oh I can't wait to start twiddling those knobs and buttons!

  • I love the Yamaha RM1x. Keep it up Outyou23!

  • nadhera :)

  • Oy oy oy Boy! Zeru to... Big up az Prahy... )

  • moc dík, sem rád že se líbí : )

  • Fucking sweet tune man. I just got a MC303 the other day, can't make any nice dub basses. How do you make yours on the RM1x?

  • vyborne, tve skladby je radost poslouchat:-)

  • sweeeet dude...wich sound do you use for your wobble/bass line ... i mainly use the sounds from an other synths..never found a good sound for the wobble on the rm1x

    props man

  • hustě oto !!

  • so dope. well produced.

  • Nice work!
