I remember an episode (flashback before Cathrine) where it showed Vincent having a crush on a sub-girl who dansed ballet. She got to close to him and 'turned him on' and he ended up almost attacking her. I wonder if that was the writters' way of saying that sex would bring out the beast in him, so let's not.
I never really got what was Catherine's problem. If Vincent has even looked at me sideways, let alone loved me beyond all measure, I'd be subterrainian faster than he could say "I love you." I'm so there, Vincent! LOL It just never made sense that Catherine didn't succumb. I'd have to be nailed down! Sorry it's all coming back to me now I'm watching the box set of Beauty and the Beast on DVD. I've never wanted a fictional character that bad! It was all Ron Perlman. What a stunner he is. *sigh*
Some how they got to together... In the last season Catherine dies giving birth to Vincent's son who was then kidnapped by Catherine's former boyfriend who was jelous.
who knows who chose Linda Hamilton to play the role of Catherine? I've heard there were 300.000 women who tried to get that role, but they chose her!one the most beautiful girl on the planet. She's sweet, nice, her face is so perfect! who wouldn't fall in love with her!?
I am blessed :D My boyfriend knows I LOVE that scene from "Temptation", and had given me several crystal necklaces just lke that. He's also a true Renaissance, generous, noble man, and I think the fact that I can relate him and Vincent makes me love this show even more !!!!!! <3
Can you imagine this coming into the big movie screen? I wouldn't approve of that because young adults of this time are all immature and they wouldn't understand or appreciate the innocent, purity of the romance to this.
The beauty of Beauty & The Beast, IMHO is the fact that Vincent & Catherine manage to show such devotion, softness, intellect, and passion w/o the need for sex. It's as if this couple, these 2 beautiful people in their own right have found the spiritual side of love w/o the need for consummation. Sure, I believed it would eventually consummate but they found true love in its purest form & they play it out well w/o leaving viewers feeling as if something is missing. It was a fairytale.
I just fell TOTALLY in love with Ron Perlman because of this show! I was just a teenaged girl, tired of the callous behavior of the males in my world. He became my ideal of what every man should aspire to be. Luckily, I found a ruggedly handsome, wise, intelligent man who loves poetry and speaks with a mistrel's tongue! We've been together for about twenty years, now. Thank you, Ron, for setting the example! For some of us, That character was as good as it got. Others, like me, found our dream!
Me too. Most men didn't like Vincent's character, but he pointed a finger. He made them look at what they were not. Except for his physical characteristics, he was a woman's dream man.
@83phatman Well, you were a little boy then and I can see how Vincent would appeal to a child. Remember how Eric wasn't frightened by his appearance at all? Neither was Tony, really. And of course, as an adult, you would still perhaps, love his character. But I did say "most men" of that time, which of course is not an absolute. There were/are many adult males who thought he was cool also..
God, I so remember when This aired! Linda and Ron where great together but sadly, after the first episode, I pretty much knew that TPTB would never have the guts to give me a true love scene between Vincent and Catherine.
heck, all these years later, I still mourn that fact!
You are absolutly correct the fanfic is much better than the last season. I wish it would be redone! For the love of God, the begining of season 3 is not what I call a sex scene. If someone is brave enough to redo the last season then let's kick it up a notch and get some real sex scene action. If they don't, then every fan will die of hormonally overload and the need to see some action for poor Vincent if for no other reason. If you ask me that is why he went mental in the first place.
It wasn't suppose to be a show where the main characters have real 'intimate' scenes. It is pure romantic pleasure without any sexual scene. Vincent and Catherine do kiss and they are connected without being together, I mean they can sense each other and that is what made the show so romantic. I loved their relationship, I hate when people get so disappointed that they were never intimate as they wanted.
Most BATB fans I know wanted Vincent and Catherine's relationship to progress to sex. They were in love - why not? You can only go so far on screen and still be tasteful, of course. But they could have done an awful lot better than that stupid lava and roses in the cave scene.
my mom still reels from the fact that she's sweet, innocent, and Sarah Connor in T1, then awesome lady ADA Catherine in Beauty and the Beast, and then kick-ass Sarah Connor in T2.
I found the episode...it was the only one I didn't see, because I thought it was only about Joe and Catherine, and not Vincent and Catherine. And it was about both sets of people. Thanks for all your help.
What episode is it when Vincent and Catherine exchange gifts for their anniversary? I may have missed it in my Season 1 DVD...or did they take it out? If they took it out...I will be extremely pissed! Thanks.
cbs should do a two hours movie where Catherine comes out of a coma of 20 years and Vincent feel that she is alive and send there son that is 20 year old to look for her and bring her back to the tunnel in NY and live happy ever after this is the way a fairy Tail should end Linda Hamiltom and Rom Pearman the original cast don't change the actor it wont be the same for this two hour movie
I'd prefer one where V&C are celebrating their 20th anniversary and they tell about how the whole thing was a horrible fevered nightmare. Which it certainly was!
Both solutions work for me. All that matters to me is that they end up together. They stop DREAMING "the dream" and start LIVING it. Together like they should be. Below or perhaps in a house above. And a few adorable babies.
I agree with you, I wished that if the show had to end, why not end it with the couple together in the end. I don't care if they died together or lived on together, all I wanted was for them to still be together.
raquel - I totally agree with you! The last season was a horror and ruined the whole series for me. Unfortunately I don't expect that to happen but wouldn't it be wonderful if it did. By the way jecris, thanks for the video. It was really nice to see LH & RP interviewed together.
wow i think i had seen dis show when i was still a little kid. :O d funneh thing is, every shows or game taht i'm kinda startin to like it, there is a bit of ron perlman inside it. Yeah, i'm startin 2 knoe dis guy in fallout game series (narrator).
Thanks for posting this clip. It's a joy to see Linda and Ron being interviewed regarding the wonderful series "Beauty and the Beast". It's special to see a little behind the scenes and to hear their perspectives. It was a special show and it still is. Can't wait to get the DVD !
What a great clip. Rare to see both Hamilton and Perlman do an interview together. I thought Beauty and the Beast was the finest show of its kind on television. Vincent was a noble, gentle, kind, honorable, sensitive and chivalrous knight. Women adored him. How could you not?!
This is what the man behind Vincent looks like? I have seen the show when I was young and I never knew what he looked like. He isn't bad looking at all but I still love Vincent.
