It is amazing to see pictures of your boys. Mine is 4 and it is hard to imagine life without him now, whereas before, it was hard to imagine surviving with him in my life at all.

Well, Heather, you have no idea how timely this comment is -- I have just wound up my media stuff, and Melbourne Writers Festival gigs, and have been feeling sort of skinned, as if I have exposed myself in the most unseemly way.... And then I found your comment! I can't thank you enough for your kindness in taking the trouble to post it -- but, really, to have appreciated how very difficult it is for me to be so candid...as I said, couldn't have been better timed.
