She was born with spina bifida and had not walked (with or without aid) since the age of ten. Devan had only seen her in a wheelchair. He did not even know she had the strength or ability to do what she just did. She went to therapy for years to be able to surprise him like that. And THAT is why this is such a big deal. :)
