I saw this in theaters back in 2008. I guess I messed up somewhere; I thought the guy's face exploded from getting hit with the buttstock of a shotgun or something.....but it was with a swift PAWNCH.

Some of Franks extended martial arts Vietnam training, Officer Frank Castle is a grunt soldier, he has normal limitations to his abilities, in Vietnam and the Desert Storm Gulf war mostly super warfare were taught logical methods and secretive mentalities to being sickmindedly brutal in unarmed combat, Frank took up minor classes and quick teachings of what the Super Soldiers know as of todays modern military warrior.
I don't care what people are saying about this movie I liked it, sure it wasn't a grab your attention plot line that made you sit on the edge of your seat but I like it for what I think it was intended for massive amounts of violence gore. I'm sick of going to see an "action" movie that had all the real action shown in the commercials. This at least offers me something that I don't have to think about to much (inception) or something that bores me. I can sit down and watch people die.
Its not a big deal that the gore is cartoonish or anything but the movie is terrible. Porous acting the girl doesn't react to anything like when her mom pulls a gun on the punisher or when punisher blows some thugs head off right in front of her face. The punisher goes around all movie blowing peoples heads off with 9 mms but his 50 cal magnum leaves a little hole in the end. The movie tries to shock you with bad cg and grandmas exploding heads and in the end came out stupid and immature.
technically kungfucherokee is right, but nobody ever takes the time to do research, this movie was produced by Marvel Knights, not Marvel, very dark and more mature versions of certain comic books, this movie kicked ass.

Thus, the ability to make a man's face explode with a direct punch is not possible for a regular human being, and not possible for the Punisher. Even if he did have super powers, the storyline, plot, dialogue and character development were all laughable in this B-Movie, qualifying it as a terrible film.

@manpunisher Those other SUPERheros you're referencing actually have super powers, while the Punisher only has human strength. Thus, the ability to make a man's face explode with a direct punch is not possible for a regular human being, and not possible for the Punisher. Even if he did have super powers, the storyline, plot, dialogue and character development were all laughable in this B-Movie, qualifying it as a terrible film.

@ktcoleman true but it is possible for a strong person to cave in a persons face with a punch collapsing the nasal, cheek and eye socket bones is not hard for a strong person to do especially with their head right against a wall so every bit of the ft. lbs force that hits it is more than sufficient to break those bones. Think of martial artists that break through 10 blocks of concrete or a solid 2" inch thick board

@ktcoleman nope,sorry.this was a great movie...and punisher is in PEAK human physical condition and the guy he punched is a little wuss that looks like a kid.u know what i'm talking about since u saw the movie too.and he did not make his whole face "explode".he punched it hard enough to disfigure and eventually kill him.anyway it's still a COMIC BOOK movie.read Punisher MAX and see the damage he does without superpowers.and the movie was really faithful to the comics' story and characters too

The Punisher is just a guy with normal guns, guns aren't what you would call super; Then again I'm not sure if you could count Punisher as much of a hero.

When snorted it sits on the nasal membrane and stops the supply of nutrients to the nasal septum, basically starving it and killing it.
A strong blunt blow can completely cave in the nasal cavity after substantial abuse to the nasal septum.

@kungfucherokee that's just it though, it says the NASAL PASSAGES.......the nasal passages have NOTHING to do with the skeletal structure of the skull......period and in order to have penetrated the skull so deeply into the nasal cavity it would have had to weaken the structure of the skull itself which is NOT scientifically or in this case MEDICALLY POSSIBLE for Cocaine to do...

@hwaycasie30728 Cocaine cannot alter the bones in the face. However with the degradation of the nasal passageways and the bones of the face now making themselves more vulnerable to a blunt force it is possible.
You can take a sledge hammer and break into someone's skull with ease. Replace the sledgehammer with the fist of the Punisher (tank man) and have him punch through those degraded passageways giving a through that portion of the mans skull (who was backed up against a wall when hit).

I am certainly not saying the special effects were dead on but the implication that one can do this in that situation is true if well endowed with the physical prowess needed.

@QuassDebonair during the script writting of the Punisher with Thomas Jane the people writting the script talked to the creators of the Punisher Gerard Conaway and John Romita Sr about splicing the idea of how the punisher's family was butchered,and they all agreed the original story of them witnessing a mob murder while on a picnic wasn't the greatest idea for a film so they decided to make Frank Castle an undercover FBI agent and that whole idea,other than that this "falcon punch" is B.S.

@harveydents Just because it is close to the comic book doesn't mean it is not a bad movie. Yes this movie was horrible, especially compared to other action movies. The villains acted like children who want attention, only thing good was the action scenes.
Yes the punisher can hit so hard, he can break through a person's face bone. Do you even realize how dumb that is? If this was the case, he would have gone out for pro boxing and gotten paid a hell of a lot more than Mike Tyson.
