On saturday july 18 in freeport ilinois the same thing happened to a 2 week old ironsides sled. the river rat went down the line and the box chain broke and shot through the the glass on the cab
Watch the glass on the sled cab. It breaks at about the 0:07 mark. It is shown later in slow motion because I didn't notice while I was filming - I was trying to focus on the tractor, then when I realized what happened I looked at the video and realized I caught that little bit.
To be honest, I don't really know, but my guess is a rock flew out from under the tires and hit it, because if it was vibration, the truck pullers would break it every time.
@LittleAce94 Could it of been sound pressure? All I know is that if a rock did hit it they might want to invest in plexiglass or thicker glass. Just imagine if it would of hit him in the head.
I know. You'd think someone would at least get the idea that something, like a rock in this case, could have the possibility of flying out from those blazing tires that glass couldn't withstand. I suppose not...
@LittleAce94 well at the very front of all pulling sled's there's 2.5-3 feet of a steel wall plus rubber flaps on each side to block the dirt and debrie from being thrown. it's have to be a lazy arch to go over the wall and still be low enough to hit it... but im still with you... idk how it happened

Saw the exact same thing happen at a pull in Champaign IL.......never did find out why it broke

pretty sure the exhaust note hit a certain frequency loud enough to reach the resonant frequency of the glass and shook the shit out of it.
