This moment does Biden some service here... it puts a family man's face on an otherwise regular old career politician. Now, I think Palin nailed this debate, even though she didn't actually answer any questions directly, and for a moment I thought Biden was floundering, but this one moment spoke volumes about the character of this man. An independent voter is now voting Obama/Biden '08.

did you even see the rest of the debate? biden consistenly made brilliant points, whereas palin rested on her narrative at a crutch everytime she was too uninformed to answer a question. this was the only moment where biden related anything personal... the rest of the hour and a half he was the politically responsible visionary he always is.

Biden was hardly brilliant here. I think he was actually *more* nervous than Palin was. He was solid, as usual, but people expect that of him. Palin was inspiring to her base and will reassure hard-core reps. who may have abandon her based on her previous interviews. This moment did reflect some much needed humanity for Biden though.
