They allowed this low-quality videos on YouTube; if anyone wants higher quality video, they have to buy the DVD, and if they want the English dub, they have to download the English AC3 sound file separately and rebuild the DVD using whatever software they can find online.

If you do get TBS to air it you'll probably need to censor the blood in this part and the various other swear words in it. For some reason parents are usually really strict about the most minor words like "Hell". Would be interesting to see it on a public release though, so good luck.

Okay, this is a question I've been wondering for awhile. How did you get the audio track in the movie without the Japanese VA? Did you simply replace the sound effects and soundtrack, or did you find a way to knock out the vocals? Or perhaps you found a version with music and sound effects, but no vocals?

@Ryusuta I took the original 5.1 sound track, split it into the six separate channels in audio software, and muted any sections with voice or voice echoes. Audio was the reconstructed for those sections from the original score music that was purchased on CD, sound effects from various sound effect libraries, created from scratch in software, or regenerated by manipulating other sections of audio from other channels. That was the most time-consuming part of the dub.

@StormyNightRedubTeam Wow... I'll bet it was... I've done a lot of audio editing and voice work myself, and that sounds like a nightmare to work with. Would it be remiss of me to ask what software you used? I pretty much use premiere for most of the stuff I do, since it's fairly comprehensive for simple projects and very quick to manipulate. If you'd prefer I sent a private message or not bothered you, that would be more than okay for me. Again, though... such amazing work on this project.

@Ryusuta Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge was used primarily for all the reconstructive editing of each channel. AudioMulch was used to reconstruct several wind sound-effects, Reason 2.0 used for generating reverbs for caves and echoes as well as re-writing music that wasn't able to be derived from the CD (including the original song "Watch the Moonrise"). Sonic Foundry's AC3 Encoder was used to regenerate the 5.1 AC3 file. The Hanna-Barbera and Warner's sound effects library was used as well.

I find it weird how anime (in general) give backgrounds the most detailed looks you can ever see in a cartoon while the characters themselves seem to have this weird lighting on them (that sometime makes them look like ghost due to how bright they are and yet how dark the background is.)

Wow. Is this a really new anime? Or a different art style?It's really detailed and good...anime's usually like that, but....am I making sense?

The voices for English are good. Some of the sheep/goats sounded goofy but that seemed a good voice type for them. Maybe they sounded goofy in the Japanese too.

And sometimes when Mei screams during the lightning it sounds like a human scream and "maa!" Good acting on that person's part. Not too over or underdone. :)

I dunno, I've found some pretty decent quality with subbing, enough that I could full screen and still get pretty impressed with the animation. granted it was on megavideo, so you can only see so much at a time, but I was able to get through the whole thing.
