LOL "Uphill seems tough on that car"!!! I think uphill kills any civic. My 1.6ek is decently fast and picks up quick but going up hill on the highway makes me feel like I should of gotten a v6.

Btw I'm pretty sure, infact I know my S2K would take out this rx8, with the same driver in my car that mazda wouldn't stand a chance. Boosted with 10lb fully built head semi built bottom, rebuilt transmission with shortened final gear. Engine is fully tuned, full suspension spent over 5k on suspension components alone. My car is tracked regularly on local scca events..!

the civic was quicker, he pulled the rx8 easily until the uphill started to make its toll on the civic. plus rx8 could take corners better with the RWD.

@gokuman63 Actually, I was under the impression NA was better because you don't need to worry about turbo lag. Either way, the power difference didn't take anything away because the civic is so much lighter. Besides, if we took ALL the mods from both cars, I'm pretty sure the RX-8 would still win out on the Civic.

yeah to the wheels they only produce around 170-185 to the wheels.. Its underpowered but the platform is great! my car produced 260 hp @ 6psi. You have to remember that th FD int he US was tubro chared.. and the rx8 is N/A no other rotary motor 13B has ever produced the power of the renesis without forced induction.
