I think this song is sung from the point of view of a very young girl who fantasizes about the "institution" of marriage. She wants to control her husband to keep him safe in her fantasy. I mean, if you listen to it from that perspective, you could almost hear a hint of desperation in Kimbra's voice and words. I love this song because I think there is more to it than the catchy beat. ;)
