@Fleefles - I discount a biased source of "information". HW is about as biased a source as exists. Their lack of credibility would be a joke, if it weren't so pathetic.
As for 1st Amendment Rights and crush videos: Where animal cruelty begins, your 1st Amendment Rights end.
HSUS does not run a single animal shelter, of the 131 million raised in 2010 only 527,566, or 0.4 percent went to any shelter nationwide while $32 million went into hedge funds.
As local shelters struggle to keep their doors open, HSUS is raising millions of dollars a month from unwitting donors to bankroll an animal rights agenda and fund a huge staff of lawyers and lobbyists, a bloated executive pension plan, and exorbitant fundraising expenses
Great video!!! Even other animal rights groups are against the HSUS. Even a Peta board member (at 1:15). And Peta is one of the worst groups. What does that say about HSUS?
I don't care who posted this. It is long overdue that people get the TRUTH out there about HSUS/PETA and the like. They do nothing for the animals. They will not provide aid to rescues that are actually doing the work and saving animals. HSUS refuses to even pay directly to veterinarians when the help is requested. This is FACT.
This is posted by owners of a Missouri Puppy Mill, whose living depends on the abuse and torture of dogs for their own profit. NEVER BUY A PUPPY FROM A PET STORE OR OVER THE INTERNET OR FROM A SIGN IN SOMEONE"S YARD> IF YOU DO YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE SUFFERING OF THE PUPPY MILL DOGS
@GriffGruff: Google "Missouri Proposition B". And also look around at how opposed "Humane" Watch was (and is) to legislating ANY controls on puppy mills or irresponsible breeders.
HSUS, along with other large animal rights organizations, have lobbyed hard for an end to factroy farms, battery caged poultry, gestation cages for sows, AND for state disaster planning units to plan for animal rescue.
Also (it appears you didn't know) - "Humane" Watch supports crush videos as "free speech".
@tellitlikeitis2 The discussions on crush videos at Humane Watch were about the potential ramifications on first ammendement rights and how it could relate to hunting videos. NOBODY on the website supported crush videos.
KNOW YOUR SOURCES, PEOPLE! This is another smear video put out by the Center for Consumer Freedom ("CCF"), a front group for the MULTI-MILLION agribusiness lobbys.
Seriously, think about it :What did HSUS have to do with the military personnel forcing people to leave their animals behind? Answer: NOTHING!
Also notice that the only person NOT identified in this video is the spokesman for Humane Watch @ 4:12. Why the secrecy? They don't want you to know the TRUE purpose of this video.
@tellitlikeitis2 So, how about refuting the arguments against the HSUS instead of attacking the source of them? Also, is it hard to understand why organizations that use animal products would be against an organization that wants domesticated animals extinct?
HSUS ties are to the Camorra is a criminal organization and secret society, originating in Naples. It is the oldest and largest criminal organizations in Italy, it was started in 18th century. Al Capone was from Brooklyn & his parents were from Castellammare di stabia, this Chicago mob crew is with the HSUS. Two of New York families are in with them also, and money still goes back to Naples, this is team NWO.
Anyone who loves animals in any way needs to see this video. I will NEVER donate to HSUS again. NEVER. NEVER EVER. HSUS does NOTHING to help even one single animal in one single shelter.
While I can appreciate what smaller groups are doing for animals, I wonder that in order to get laws passed to protect animals from abuse such as puppy mills, dog fighting, etc., perhaps HSUS has more clout in getting laws passed, whereas, the smaller groups don't have that influence.
I can appreciate what you say and I will do further research into HSUS.
@judyrusso What legislation has the HSUS had a hand in that is so effective at protecting animals from puppy mills, dog fighting, etc.? I would love to be educated on this topic, but I'm fairly certain that any money given to the HSUS or PETA has been a complete waste. (Hint: the crush video ban makes for great banner waving and feel-good-about-yourself-for-donatingness but it was ineffective, affects very, very few people and/or animals to begin with and ultimately doesn't do squat)
That's a lie. They own animal clinics and hospitals, that also happens to be a shelter. But what I don't like is that the people who rescued us humans at GUN POINT to get in and leave your pets. Then the humane didn't do shit but rescuing them. I live in a Ca. What is theres a wild fire and I'm forced to evacuate? Fuck no I ain't leaving my dog alone!
When in doubt, look at the return address on the envelope. If it's from the East Coast, especially Washington D.C., do not donate!!!! Donate to your local humane society, and do not support any organization that uses professional fundraisers. Your money will only line the pockets of some fat cats getting rich on your good intentions.
Another Propaganda from the Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF)?
Just a comment on the discrediting campaign and all other campaigns those filthy lobbyists are doing against animal and human rights group, worker unions and others...
The president of the American Federation of Teachers named the CCF's leader as "a shameless lobbyist who has shilled for pesticide, alcohol and tobacco companies." A USA Today journalist said that they should change the name of their website to "FatForProfits"
Individuals fail to realize that for several individuals, responsibly raising purbred dogs is the livelyhood for many and they love what they do. For some disabled individuals who cannot handle a 9 to 5 job--this is their life and their only source of income. It is actually more labor intensive than a 9-5 job--and many never take vacations for themselves--they are with their animals 24-7 day in and day out. It is a passion for them. Radicals fail to see this.
Out of respect and responsibility for their actions--ALL Voters who were so adamant about Voting YES need to contact some of the dog breeders and offer to adopt the many adults/puppies that will be relinquished as a result of this. Animals that already have clean warm beds food & water who will be gotten rid of. Shelters won't take on this many dogs and will not be able to properly care for them. Congrats guys--you sentenced many helpless animals to death or worse!
A big Thank you! to everyone who got out and voted against this Money and Power hungry giant! Almost 1 million people spoke out against this--that is a lot guys! AND WE DON'T EVEN HAVE RICH CELEBRITIES BACKING US!!!! Great work! The fight is far from over--lets stick together and continue to educate everyone on the HSUS and their deceptive ways. By all means--donate to your local shelters and HS--but don't let this animal extremist see another cent!
Under Prop B, responsible breeders will no longer be allowed to buy & administer their own shots/meds. Necessary shots are already costly--but the law would require breeders to load up all their puppies and travel to the vet for EVERY necessary shot/med--exposing young unprotected puppies to needless travel and diseases at the vet clinics. Many vets charge an office call per visit--more needless expenses for reputable breeders already struggling to provide quality puppies at an affordable price
HSUS is good at using emotional propaganda to get control of what they want-without consideration for the little folk who are busting their butts behind the scene. They have NO CONCEPT of what responsible breeders go through on a daily basis & what it takes to maintain a kennel--but yet they sit in their high dollar offices and make up a complex set of rules and regulations that support no one and fixes no problem. Resp. breeders get punished with more work, rules, expense and HSUS gets control.
If more Missourians could see this video--I think individuals would see the reality and would easily vote NO on Prop B this Nov! Wish this was on a TV ad or featured on youtube!
MISSOURI VOTERS--Here is your chance to fight back! Nov is coming and we need your Vote! Let's tell the HSUS where it can shove it's law and regulations in Prop B!
Hunters, farmers, pet owners---not just responsible breeders should be VERY concerned. We have the Power to change our future! I value my rights! Do You? Say NO to Large Corporations running America! Vote NO on Prop B!
HSUS’s own website lists 14 executives who it is reported received $2.5 million in 2008 in pension benefits alone. (Their salaries are not available.) In that same year less than a half million dollars went to animal shelters (less than 0.5% of their budget)
I have to admit I am a bit conflicted with this video. I have seen the propaganda against PeTA, and many others who are pro-animals rights, and I've seen 'PeTA kills animals' website, and I know certian organizations are more lobbyists, certain ones more hand-on the animals, etc. The Humane Society has been instrumental in both introducing legislation to benefit animals and enhance laws, bring knowledge with their investigations, and support animals in general.
They have both introduced and supported KEY legislation and victories for my animal friends. It seems to me as long as we fight amongst ourselves, we are far weaker than if we recognized a common cause with different ways of going about it. I don't know or claim to know what happened down there, and I have had some frustrations with HSUS as I have with PeTA, and others, but it should not cause us to not look towards the common cause - the truth is they have done a lot for animal welfare.
I also don't know about the '50% on donations' thing. If I spent 50% and always got a certain return rate (making it worthwhile to perpetuate my goals), wouldn't that be the scale we should measure them by? Longevity & the ability to 'hang in there' for animals. Didn't mean to go on a tangient, & again, I am not making comments directly about Hurrican Katrina, 'cause I don't know what happened, but I am sad to see our groups breaking into smaller and less powerful fragments.
H$U$ is f**kin up big time, they advocate the death of Pit Bulls, If they come to "rescue" Pit Bulls from someone they will most likely kill them...They got donations for the M Vick dogs to care for them when in fact they advocated for their deaths. They don't just want to whipe out pit bulls, but they don't mind killing all domestic animals that they have "rescued".
Great video, keep up the great work. Thank you for showing what HSUS is all about yet again: A vegan America with no pet ownership. HSUS need to be shut down, now!
go to hsussucks . com and read the article The Mob , HSUS, and The Black Egg. Read how nearly all legislation via Animal Rights orgs are part of a racketeering scheme and artifice. Rogue Humane Societies raid both breeders and rescue to steal their product. HSUS intends to get a pieceof the action from this new "industry"& to control Ag in order to get "a piece of the action" via "protectionism racket" aka Humanely Raised labels... The FBI knows it so where is the Dept of Justice? Taking bribes.
you are missing the point. This is not just nitpicking and a small mishap. It never is when it comes to millions upon millions of dollars at stake. HSUS simply doesn't want competition, and where there is competition for future donation dollars they are a ruthless and cunning predator.
I really dislike all the nitpicking and critisizing of various animal groups because of mishaps.
All this must surely stem from anti-animal advocates and abusers wishing to discredit such groups.
Even if this video is true, these people aren't disciples of jesus. they can't do EVERYTHING. that's why there's other groups. when one can't do it, another group picks up the slack. it's teamwork.
The HSUS has still worked to pass many wonderful new animal protection laws
lol so the poster of the video, a vegan, is somehow anti-animal? What about Nathan Winograd, a vegan animal rights activists who also dislikes the HSUS and has exposed them many times in his blog?
People don't dislike the HSUS because they are "anti-animal," they dislike the HSUS because they are money grubbing liars and deceitful.
Best Frends(misspelling intentional) is no better than HSUS. they take in 30 million dollars a year and have, what? , one, yes one animal shelter and it is in a very remote compound in UTAH.
@indianredhead best friend is not a bad org, have you ever been there to the sanctuary if not, then stfu!!! have you seen how big the shelter is and how many stuff they have FOR The animals? and no they don't just have 1 shelter in utah, they also have another shelter in los angeles , it's not quite as big but its something,,
@indianredhead@indianredhead and the reason why they picked the dessert is because it has alot of rooms FOR the animals to play around with, and another reason why i love best friend more is because the staff actually care about the animals, they don't go around putting animals to sleep because it's "unwanted" like peta do, nor do they do false advertsing like hsus does, get your facts straight , best friend is the best when it comes to animal rescues!!
@MrZacharythomas If I was taking in 30 million dollars a year I would have quite a few rescue shelters and would donate substantial sums of money to other rescue agencies. You can't logically justify a couple of shelters and 30,000,000 dollars a year income, no matter how nice the shelter is or how nice the people are.
An interview with David Martosko from The Center for Consumer freedom. Now there's a realible source. He also attacks The American Cancer Society on behalf of the tobacco industry and attacked Mothers Against Drunk Drivers on behalf of the liquor industry.
Now he's attacking the Humane Society on behalf of the meat industry. VeganTruthist get a clue.
So statements are only true if you like the person stating them? If a serial killer says 2+2=4, is that false because he is not an outstanding citizen? Also, did you know the FOUNDER of MADD LEFT the organization because they became too extremist, and want ridiculous laws like requiring all cars to have a breathalizers installed (no more mouth wash before work in the morning!)? Is the FOUNDER of MADD now a big evil meanie too?
The money donated to these groups is not given for the purpose of lobbing, when the majority of people donate, it is for the care and rescuing of animals, not for propaganda to get more donations and if their purpose is not to actually run shelters, then they shouldn't give people that impression in their commercials and mention the fact, that they kill 98% of the animals they susposedly rescue each year. If thats the kind of rescuing they do then the animals don't need it!
All I can say is what the Bible says: "VENGEANCE IS MINE SAYS THE LORD, I WILL REPAY", for good or ill whatever they have done (or not done) to help will come back to them. I would NEVER leave my animals, they would have to kill me. Thank you all for loving the helpless animals who Suffer in Silence.
After some friends of mine passed this around yesterday, we received an email from our state rep for the HSUS, trying to defend their actions and their record keeping. Do they deny that the Attorney General for Louisiana launched an investigation into the post-Katrina HSUS fund raising? I find it incomprehensible that an organization presents itself as being about animal welfare and helping animals while keeping more than 95% of proceeds for anything but that focus.
I'm glad a friend shared this link with me. If you'd like to learn how very much we've been failed by the alphabet soup of rescue (HSUS, ASPCA and PETA), please read Nathan Winograd's book, "Redemption." It is about the no kill movement but is also a historical book about how we got into this mess and the undeniable fact that the major organizations take in millions and do little to really help animals. We're better than this. Spread the word, people.
Rescues all over the USA are going broke, killing themselves to save dogs and cats from the killing facilities of our nation, so-called Animal Shelters. Thousands are killed every day - HSUS ought to help these heroes on the ground, in the trenches!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@punkpinkpony many of these anti HSUS videos are propaganda from pro hunting, pro factory farming interests, who also like to carefully censor comments on their pages. If you want uncensored discussion about anything, don't come to youtube to find it.
Peta & HSUS care about one thing, money. Anything to tear the money out of your wallet to use for their own agenda. They can not stand people eating meat and they want to put a end to it at any cost. Search their web sight. You will find out they are violating their FREE TAX STATUS ! Call your congressman ! Cut their free tax status !
Organizations such as PETA and The Humane Society of the US should not be belittled or criticized for the work that they do. There job is not to actually run shelters but to keep pressure on our legislators and government to take animal treatment seriously and enact laws that will prevent abuse of animals. They are good organizations and work at a different angle from the work that "rescuers" perform. Both are noble and deserve our thanks and support.
Each state should be able to govern what animals should and shouldn't be kept by their residents. With or without a permit. Making federal legislation is overkill and just proves that Florida can't run their own state.
HSUS and PETA care about animals. All these snakes that are being caught. They are being killed, skinned, and their skins are going to make boots, purses and whatever else. So where are they on that? How is that right? They care about animals. Sure they do, they care about money and what benefits them.Same with the senator's
HSUS and PETA both suck ass in my book. Im all for saving animals and all that. I keep some animals, and would fight to the death to keep them all. HSUS is trying to take away peoples rights to keep some reptiles. IF we let them get away with that. What will they go after next. That have to be stopped, we have to show them they cant just do whatever they want. Just because they have the money.
Ok if some reptiles shouldn't be owned. Then why are they just going after the big snakes? What about all the venomous out there. All you need is a permit. If you have this permit, then you are responsible enough to own these snakes that can kill you in hours from one little bite. So make a better permit system for these big snakes, don't ban them. What happens when the gov decides they want to take something away from you, just because they can. Or a special interest group goes afteryourhobby
I think your idea is an interesting one. Maybe you should go out there promote it? There may be a reason why they aren't taking that path but I don't know what it is. The HSUS tries really hard to do the right thing for animals. I think trying to "stop them before they go to far" is completely unnecessary. They won't "go to far" because after all, they do need a lot of support. They can't do whatever they want. If they actually do have the support then maybe its something that should be done.
I know there is a problem in Florida, I agree with what they are trying to do. But they are going about it the wrong way. They need to update the permit system in Florida, and put in place in other states where theses animals could live. The same type of permit system. Their study they are basing this one. is total crap. Half the places they claim these animals could live in the wild. is just not true. If temps drops below 50 for any period of time, these animals are dead.
The reason is simple. banning is easy and free, but regulations and liscenses cost money to manage. HSUS is lobbying the Feds to ban things that they feel shouldn't be pets. The feds love it, because if it's illegal, then they dont' have to spend money to manage it...yet, they dont' ban dogs or cats...even though they hurt more people, and destroy more wildlife than any other non native species in the US. HSUS is full of malarcky.
Its all on the owners. If they are responsible, bad things dont happen. Its that simple. I dont keep any big snakes. All my snakes cages have locks, I dont show my snakes off to just anyone. They want to ban these big snakes nation wide. If I have an 8 foot burm up here in Wisconsin, If it were to get loose It would not make it through the winter. So why ban them in the northern states? Its stupid. If they had some scientific facts, that state why they should be banned nation wide. I would agree
But they dont, The senator's and other suporters of this bill. are being lied to. They are getting a check from the special interest groups, Its all about the money. The fact is if this passes this will kill a 4 billion dollar a year industry, nation wide. Senator nelson gets a check to his campaign, but thats all good even if they bankrupt thousands of family businesses. As long as he gets his check. How is that right.
The HSUS is a scam organization. They use the front of a humane society to earn money and use it to influence politicians. They are tricking you all and lying to you. They will take your money and try to ban you from keeping the very pets you think you are helping. They are currently trying to ban pythons from being kept by responsible people. They are stealing money from Americans push their own political agendas. They are a politically driven scam organization.
this looks like a video from the Center for Consumer Freedom which is funding by all the animal - abusing big businesses that are threatened by large animal protection organizations. I don't buy it. I totally support HSUS, PETA . They are changing the way our society treats animals. We need both big orgs and small orgs.
By trying to rid the world of pet animals? Cmon. HSUS lobbied HARD to ban ALL pythons in the recent S373 bill. maybe a few species should be regulated...but Banning ALL PYTHONS? Most of which are completely harmless? Cmon...sounds like a couple of tree huggers who are using the current libs in congress to pass ridiculous extremist laws bases on fear, ad not actual science. HSUS is a huge, money wasting, propoganda machine that wants to take your pets away from you completely!
i'm a hsus hate'n mutherfucker, and do lot's of bash'n on any such video's. i'm not say'n any of these people's agenda's are to much different., BUT, i'm gonna keep my mouth shut on this one..................almost, I TOLD YOU SO, I,TOLD YOU SO, NANA......NANA........NANAA.........
I think its annoying how people are freaking out that the HSUS doesn't give money to shelters (which I don't know if it is true or not). The jobs that the shelters do and the jobs that the HSUS do, which yes are largely political, are both very important. We need the HSUS to do what it does: stop animal cruelty and educate the public. The HSUS provides so many resources. Just take a look at their website! We also do need what the shelters do. This video is extremely misleading.
chibi - I see you are finding the truth about HSUS, but still you say they do good. As a shelter volunteer, you know who is really caring for the animals. A $100MIL per year to buy Congressmen and panhandle for more donations? How many animals could that spay & neuter? Our problems would be solved. HSUS doesn't want them solved. No problems - No Cash flow. The website is PROPAGANDA. Pacelle is OK with the EXTINCTION of all domestic animals, as they're Human-made. Actually watch this video.
HSUS spends the donations they get with misleading tactics to take away rights of Citizens, that is it. If you want to make a difference donate to local shelters.
lol no one cares what I actually say, they just want to put enough negs on it so that it can't be seen by others. I do hope though that people that are seeing this video and trying to decide what to believe read my comments. I really have gotten a lot of great resources (for ex how to take care of feral cats). Just look at their website! They are making positive changes all the time! And it DOES look like a video by the CCF like chateauyucca said!
yet both hsus and peta wanted to put down all the pits from the vick case when some of those dogs now have better lifes and familys and some are therepy dogs.
25 million taken in...7 million accounted for. HSUS has some bad math going for it when it comes to disaster funds. Please don't support HSUS. They are currently lobbying to end reptile ownership in the US altogether, starting with pythons and boas, and working their way down. Help stop them by calling in to urge a 'no' vote on HR2811.
Want to see just one place that really loves animals? Check out Rolling Dog Ranch Animal Sanctuary. Want another? There's millions of them who really need money, who really do something for the animals but who most people have never even heard of. Just because someone has 501, doesn't make them good people. That's the same as saying just because someone is a teacher, they're a good person.
I am joe woodall, anyone that thinks the hsus, aspca, peta, alf or john goodwin is doing good for any animals you may want to see a shrink.and if anyone dont like that, lets not write on this computer, lets take it up fist to fist.and see who heart is the biggest.
Pryor is a known dog lover and rescuer. On the board of PETA? Is she unaware of their evil stance on pit bulls, and PETAS full support of BSL laws which kill innocent dogs based on looks alone? Educated Mrs. Pryor? I have seen you rescue pit bulls and believe your heart is in the right place. BUT you need to look into PETA a group you support.. If you are a pit bull PETA wants you dead. Truly disgusting hypocrites. Check it out Mrs, Pryor.
this is to john goodwin you are a coward, you came to my house, and shit on my children, now please please, leave your shitheads behind leave the police, and sign papers no one is liable, try me on for size.
The HSUS completed its animal-rights transformation during the 1990s, changing its personnel in the process. HSUS assimilated dozens of staffers from PETA and other animal-rights groups, even employing John J.P. Goodwin, a former Animal Liberation Front member and spokesman with a lengthy arrest record and a history of promoting arson to accomplish animal liberation.
The animal-rights newspaper Animal People News profiled Goodwin in 2000, noting that he gleefully announced a string of Animal Liberation Front mink releases and arsons against furriers and fur farms while a "spokesman for the underground terrorist group.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Hell, I disagree with a lot of actions large animal rights companies do. But you people have to realize PETA has done more to help animals than any other organization.
What exactly has PETA done to help animals? John Goodwin, a high-school dropout who had previously co-founded the Texas-based Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade, pulled no punches when it came to his priorities. My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture, he had written to one Internet activist mailing list. Goodwin himself has been arrested and convicted for being the ringleader of a gang that vandalized fur retailers in multiple states during the 1990s.
I no longer will ever contribute to the HSUS because they support MICHAEL VICK and has helped VICK-the DOG KILLER-back to the NFL where this DOG FIGHTER will become the American darling and hero to our young when Vick struts his stuff in the field. It's disgusting. THAT tell me enough. Even PETA dumped Vick as soon as they seen the USDA report where Vick threw in family pets into dog fighting rings-he thought it funny. HSUS seen the same report-HSUS does NOT care.
I was not aware of what the HSUS does behind the camera -so to speak- I donate to them every year, I think I will be re-thinking it this time around...
666barbie I thought the same thing you did at one time till I was educated on what they actually do and want to do. I don't want to see a day when I can't run with my dog in agility or not have them there for comfortable which is what they want. But they hide it so well that unless you really look into things you don't see what is going on. Ignorance is bliss but ends in heartache. Remember most people didn't believe what PETA was doing until they looked into it.
HSUS is adept at generating media attention for animal rescues ... WHAT???? Do you have ANY idea of the number of animals that are rescued on a DAILY basis? Hundreds of thousands animals are rescued in this country. The HSUS, SPCA, PETA, media and public have ABSOLUTELY NO idea. 'cowman1970": Don't be an idiot.
The message of this video is important even if it is being told by some of the wrong people ... the board member of PETA (give me a break).
Last week, Channel 2 Action News in Atlanta shone the media spotlight on the Humane Society of the United States — and the organization didnt fare so well when they didnt control the message or the cameras direction.
Reporter Amanda Rosseter traced for viewers where the organizations vast donations go, explaining that little of the millions of dollars given to HSUS each year end up at local animal shelters. (The HSUS 2007 annual report indicates $120 million in revenue.)
Yet, HSUS is adept at generating media attention for animal rescues.
Story sources indicated that the organization is very successful at using misleading tactics to raise funds. Meanwhile, that same annual report shows $112 million in expenses — money Rosseters sources say is spent on lobbyists for animal-rights bills, salaries and benefits.
haha i think you are sorry that they werent there for new orleans but i mean my dog came from a puppy mill and who bust the puppy mill and rescued them and did the vet care of hsus so why dont you get your facts straight
Actually, HSUS does do the raids on the puppy mills, mostly for the publicity. However, once those dogs are rescued they are then turned over to local humane societies to care for them and adopt them out. Ask your local humane society, where you actually got your puppy, how much money they received from HSUS for that puppy's care. Yet all thos people that saw the raid on tv donated to HSUS to help the puppies. Hmmmmmm
well your being ignorant in some aspect maybe they dont fund shelters and what not but dont you think th money people donate go to gas costs i mean some of these people travel from pretty far to rescue the dogs to pay the vets they have on hand the cages and blankets they bring with for the animals the food the water etc i mean you make it seem like they sit at a desk and collect peoples money for no reason
and actually i know where my dog is fro mshe was rescued by HSUS from an ohio puppy mill which THEN an animal rescue group in hamilton adopted her and then i adpted her she was never given over to a shelter, get a llife.
Most of the people that contribute to HSUS believe that their money goes directly to the care of animals. It's good that you were able to adopt your puppy.Vets and other volunteers often give freely of their time and gas. These raids help them raise a lot of money. HSUS raises the money to use for political purposes. People that don't contribute to political campaigns will contribute to "save the animals". We aren't misleading you, they are.
That is what HSUS wants you to believe but owning an animal is so wrong in thier eyes even if it was a rescue. They want to end ownship of animals. Puppy Mill is a very loose and bad term. That term is so used incorrectly is it not even funny. If you have a few dogs now a days and one is dirty due to not feeling well you could get charge with animal abuse and the dog taken away. This is due to what HSUS is doing behind closed doors. I thought the same thing you did till I educated myself!
NO, NO, NO, NO!!! The HSUS does NOT do the raids, it is the local Humane Society or shelter that does the raids. You have incorrect facts. And most local humane societies have NOTHING to do with the HSUS. The HSUS wants no pets at all as they push mandatory s\n laws. The pres of HSUS has even stated so.
Actually if you look up some things that HSUS says they don't want us to ever have cats or dog in our lives at all. They take the money to fund the mandatory spay and neuter laws to end anyone having animals in our lives again. There are many who say that having an animal, whether dog, cat, bird, or other, is slavery.
Ah HSUS, one of the big names that are said to help animals. One of the big names that supports vivisection.
Want proof of that look at their site and they are very quiet about it. They admit nothing about it being a fraud. They, like the others, are run by some of the vivisectionists who stay quiet about certain facts.
And PETA probably does have something to hide as they are as bad but can be hard to point out with AR folks because they used ALF to gain credibility.
Remember HSUS is not part of any animal shelter in the united states. how about looking up the video of hsus member draging a bloody harp seal back into camera shot for there fundrasing video.or them holding tapes for 4 months on a slaughterhouse befor releasing them. HSUS they love animal abuse its there best sourse of income.
Death threats and kidnapping threats coming from another HSUS campaign!?!? HSUS and Wayne Pacelle show us YET AGAIN they are a domestic terrorist group! How dare they put the life of HUMAN BEINGS in jeopardy to raise MORE millions for their own personal use! They will be held accountable for the criminal actions by the US government. They are criminals! You are not going to sleaze you way out of this one Wayne. I am absolutely repulsed by the HSUS terrorist machine!!! Supporting HSUS = Violence
"fuck you leave my animal!" couldnt have said it any better! :D I´d never leave my kids, which are my two, 2 & 4yr old, cats. They were in such bad shape when I got them, and now that they fully trust me Id rather DIE than betray their love! :( also my friend once told me, that no matter if there´d be an asteroid on it´s way and going to hit the earth, she´d stay by her mare till the end at their stable!
Fortunately, many are aware that there is no substitute for actual hands on work by volunteers. It takes too much time for the big organizations to get cranked up sometimes. Thanks for the video.
I hadn't seen the horse on the porch video. There were so many local ppl doing rescue in boats, asking for addresses to help save caged/abandoned animals, none were affiliated with big groups.

What does that say about HSUS?
maxbassin 6 months ago

Also (it appears you didn't know) - "Humane" Watch supports crush videos as "free speech".
tellitlikeitis2 9 months ago

NEVER. NEVER EVER. HSUS does NOTHING to help even one single animal in one single shelter.
scarletsmith 1 year ago 5
While I can appreciate what smaller groups are doing for animals, I wonder that in order to get laws passed to protect animals from abuse such as puppy mills, dog fighting, etc., perhaps HSUS has more clout in getting laws passed, whereas, the smaller groups don't have that influence.
I can appreciate what you say and I will do further research into HSUS.
judyrusso 1 year ago
@judyrusso What legislation has the HSUS had a hand in that is so effective at protecting animals from puppy mills, dog fighting, etc.? I would love to be educated on this topic, but I'm fairly certain that any money given to the HSUS or PETA has been a complete waste. (Hint: the crush video ban makes for great banner waving and feel-good-about-yourself-for-donatingness but it was ineffective, affects very, very few people and/or animals to begin with and ultimately doesn't do squat)
GriffGruff78 10 months ago
Bottom line is that animals need to be protected to the furthest extent of the law. Sometimes it takes tough measures to achieve that goal.
judyrusso 1 year ago

Kay7271 1 year ago
They have both introduced and supported KEY legislation and victories for my animal friends. It seems to me as long as we fight amongst ourselves, we are far weaker than if we recognized a common cause with different ways of going about it. I don't know or claim to know what happened down there, and I have had some frustrations with HSUS as I have with PeTA, and others, but it should not cause us to not look towards the common cause - the truth is they have done a lot for animal welfare.
Kay7271 1 year ago
I also don't know about the '50% on donations' thing. If I spent 50% and always got a certain return rate (making it worthwhile to perpetuate my goals), wouldn't that be the scale we should measure them by? Longevity & the ability to 'hang in there' for animals. Didn't mean to go on a tangient, & again, I am not making comments directly about Hurrican Katrina, 'cause I don't know what happened, but I am sad to see our groups breaking into smaller and less powerful fragments.

go to hsussucks . com and read the article The Mob , HSUS, and The Black Egg. Read how nearly all legislation via Animal Rights orgs are part of a racketeering scheme and artifice. Rogue Humane Societies raid both breeders and rescue to steal their product. HSUS intends to get a pieceof the action from this new "industry"& to control Ag in order to get "a piece of the action" via "protectionism racket" aka Humanely Raised labels... you are missing the point.

@indianredhead @indianredhead and the reason why they picked the dessert is because it has alot of rooms FOR the animals to play around with, and another reason why i love best friend more is because the staff actually care about the animals, they don't go around putting animals to sleep because it's "unwanted" like peta do, nor do they do false advertsing like hsus does, get your facts straight , best friend is the best when it comes to animal rescues!!

@MrZacharythomas If I was taking in 30 million dollars a year I would have quite a few rescue shelters and would donate substantial sums of money to other rescue agencies.

If you'd like to learn how very much we've been failed by the alphabet soup of rescue (HSUS, ASPCA and PETA), please read Nathan Winograd's book, "Redemption." We're better than this. Spread the word, people.

HSUS and PETA care about animals. All these snakes that are being caught. They are being killed, skinned, and their skins are going to make boots, purses and whatever else. So where are they on that? How is that right? They care about animals. Sure they do, they care about money and what benefits them.Same with the senator's
SDReptiles 2 years ago
HSUS and PETA both suck ass in my book. Im all for saving animals and all that. I keep some animals, and would fight to the death to keep them all. HSUS is trying to take away peoples rights to keep some reptiles. IF we let them get away with that. What will they go after next. That have to be stopped, we have to show them they cant just do whatever they want. Just because they have the money.
SDReptiles 2 years ago
Maybe because some reptiles shouldn't be owned at pets?
Just like some cats shouldn't be owned as pets? (ex: tigers)
chibichibi7554 2 years ago
Ok if some reptiles shouldn't be owned. Then why are they just going after the big snakes? What about all the venomous out there. All you need is a permit. If you have this permit, then you are responsible enough to own these snakes that can kill you in hours from one little bite. So make a better permit system for these big snakes, don't ban them. What happens when the gov decides they want to take something away from you, just because they can. Or a special interest group goes afteryourhobby
SDReptiles 2 years ago
I think your idea is an interesting one. Maybe you should go out there promote it? There may be a reason why they aren't taking that path but I don't know what it is. The HSUS tries really hard to do the right thing for animals. I think trying to "stop them before they go to far" is completely unnecessary. They won't "go to far" because after all, they do need a lot of support. They can't do whatever they want. If they actually do have the support then maybe its something that should be done.
chibichibi7554 2 years ago
I know there is a problem in Florida, I agree with what they are trying to do. But they are going about it the wrong way. They need to update the permit system in Florida, and put in place in other states where theses animals could live. The same type of permit system. Their study they are basing this one. is total crap. Half the places they claim these animals could live in the wild. is just not true. If temps drops below 50 for any period of time, these animals are dead.
SDReptiles 2 years ago
SO why ban them in the northern states?
SDReptiles 2 years ago
The reason is simple. banning is easy and free, but regulations and liscenses cost money to manage. HSUS is lobbying the Feds to ban things that they feel shouldn't be pets. The feds love it, because if it's illegal, then they dont' have to spend money to manage it...yet, they dont' ban dogs or cats...even though they hurt more people, and destroy more wildlife than any other non native species in the US. HSUS is full of malarcky.
zx7trev 2 years ago
Its all on the owners. If they are responsible, bad things dont happen. Its that simple. I dont keep any big snakes. All my snakes cages have locks, I dont show my snakes off to just anyone. They want to ban these big snakes nation wide. If I have an 8 foot burm up here in Wisconsin, If it were to get loose It would not make it through the winter. So why ban them in the northern states? Its stupid. If they had some scientific facts, that state why they should be banned nation wide. I would agree
SDReptiles 2 years ago
But they dont, The senator's and other suporters of this bill. are being lied to. They are getting a check from the special interest groups, Its all about the money. The fact is if this passes this will kill a 4 billion dollar a year industry, nation wide. Senator nelson gets a check to his campaign, but thats all good even if they bankrupt thousands of family businesses. As long as he gets his check. How is that right.
SDReptiles 2 years ago
The HSUS is a scam organization. They use the front of a humane society to earn money and use it to influence politicians. They are tricking you all and lying to you. They will take your money and try to ban you from keeping the very pets you think you are helping. They are currently trying to ban pythons from being kept by responsible people. They are stealing money from Americans push their own political agendas. They are a politically driven scam organization.

This video is extremely misleading.
chibichibi7554 2 years ago
chibi - I see you are finding the truth about HSUS, but still you say they do good.

Want to see just one place that really loves animals? Check out Rolling Dog Ranch Animal Sanctuary. Want another? There's millions of them who really need money, who really do something for the animals but who most people have never even heard of. Just because someone has 501, doesn't make them good people.

The HSUS completed its animal-rights transformation during the 1990s, changing its personnel in the process. HSUS assimilated dozens of staffers from PETA and other animal-rights groups, even employing John J.P. Goodwin, a former Animal Liberation Front member and spokesman with a lengthy arrest record and a history of promoting arson to accomplish animal liberation.
b1ankuberalles 2 years ago
The animal-rights newspaper Animal People News profiled Goodwin in 2000, noting that he gleefully announced a string of Animal Liberation Front mink releases and arsons against furriers and fur farms while a "spokesman for the underground terrorist group.

do a google search on "nathan winograd" and also "boycott the humane society" and see the website of the same name with org at the end.

If I can't take my pets, then I die with my pets. I will not leave my children behind to die. I will gladly die with them. Beside them.

Yea
The HSUS was created by PETA
Thats why a board member of PETA spoke out against it.....

HSUS is an even bigger scam than PETA, yes.

Remember most people didn't believe what PETA was doing until they looked into it.

honestly i dont care what anyone says really. show me and proof and maybe something. hsus rescued both my dogs and their both alive today
666barbie 2 years ago
WOW! I had absolutely no idea HSUS Or PETA where like this. I honestly thought they cared about the animals not money.
sweetinnosence 2 years ago
HSUS was created by PETA.....that should show people that HSUS is only in it for the money.
ironman711 2 years ago
HSUS is adept at generating media attention for animal rescues ... WHAT???? Do you have ANY idea of the number of animals that are rescued on a DAILY basis? Hundreds of thousands animals are rescued in this country. The HSUS, SPCA, PETA, media and public have ABSOLUTELY NO idea. 'cowman1970": Don't be an idiot.
The message of this video is important even if it is being told by some of the wrong people ... the board member of PETA (give me a break).

Excellent video exposing them for what they really are!!!

(The HSUS 2007 annual report indicates $120 million in revenue.)
cowman1970 2 years ago
wasnt that GREAT? haha... H$U$ kept trying to pull the videos down from here too...
bynxa 2 years ago 3
Yet, HSUS is adept at generating media attention for animal rescues.
Story sources indicated that the organization is very successful at using misleading tactics to raise funds. Meanwhile, that same annual report shows $112 million in expenses — money Rosseters sources say is spent on lobbyists for animal-rights bills, salaries and benefits.

PETA and HSUS can both go to hell in a rocket ship.
If you have spare cash. Donate to your local shelter or rescue. Keep in mind PETA kills more animals than they place.

HSUS is just another corporation that will do whatever it takes to justify its own existence. I would never support such a corporation.
LardFeatures 2 years ago
so your say hsus hasnt done one thing to help the animals? i dont believ that
666barbie 2 years ago
You are out of your mind.
DobermansRock 2 years ago
haha i think you are sorry that they werent there for new orleans but i mean my dog came from a puppy mill and who bust the puppy mill and rescued them and did the vet care of hsus so why dont you get your facts straight
666barbie 2 years ago
Actually, HSUS does do the raids on the puppy mills, mostly for the publicity. However, once those dogs are rescued they are then turned over to local humane societies to care for them and adopt them out. Ask your local humane society, where you actually got your puppy, how much money they received from HSUS for that puppy's care. Yet all thos people that saw the raid on tv donated to HSUS to help the puppies. Hmmmmmm
bjwbird 2 years ago 2
well your being ignorant in some aspect maybe they dont fund shelters and what not but dont you think th money people donate go to gas costs i mean some of these people travel from pretty far to rescue the dogs to pay the vets they have on hand the cages and blankets they bring with for the animals the food the water etc i mean you make it seem like they sit at a desk and collect peoples money for no reason
666barbie 2 years ago
and actually i know where my dog is fro mshe was rescued by HSUS from an ohio puppy mill which THEN an animal rescue group in hamilton adopted her and then i adpted her she was never given over to a shelter, get a llife.
666barbie 2 years ago
Most of the people that contribute to HSUS believe that their money goes directly to the care of animals. It's good that you were able to adopt your puppy.Vets and other volunteers often give freely of their time and gas. These raids help them raise a lot of money. HSUS raises the money to use for political purposes. People that don't contribute to political campaigns will contribute to "save the animals". We aren't misleading you, they are.
bjwbird 2 years ago 2
I doubt you even own a dog.
ajbellis89 2 years ago
hahaha i actually own three but thanks for making yourself look stupid
666barbie 2 years ago
That is what HSUS wants you to believe but owning an animal is so wrong in thier eyes even if it was a rescue. They want to end ownship of animals. Puppy Mill is a very loose and bad term. That term is so used incorrectly is it not even funny. If you have a few dogs now a days and one is dirty due to not feeling well you could get charge with animal abuse and the dog taken away. This is due to what HSUS is doing behind closed doors. I thought the same thing you did till I educated myself!
foxfrosta 2 years ago
Sorry, you should ask the animal rescue group in Hamilton how much money HSUS gave them for their work and expenses in the rescue of the puppies.
bjwbird 2 years ago 2
I would bet a lot of money that the rescue group got absolutely nothing from the HSUS (and I don't gamble).
ajbellis89 2 years ago
yeah actually all thevet care was paid for by hsus are you people still hating on hsus get lives haha

Give me the proof~!
rmemazz 2 years ago
NO, NO, NO, NO!!! The HSUS does NOT do the raids, it is the local Humane Society or shelter that does the raids. You have incorrect facts. And most local humane societies have NOTHING to do with the HSUS. The HSUS wants no pets at all as they push mandatory s\n laws. The pres of HSUS has even stated so.
ajrawson 2 years ago 2
Actually if you look up some things that HSUS says they don't want us to ever have cats or dog in our lives at all. They take the money to fund the mandatory spay and neuter laws to end anyone having animals in our lives again. There are many who say that having an animal, whether dog, cat, bird, or other, is slavery.
foxfrosta 2 years ago
Thank God, the HSUS is finally being exposed. They are on a huge power trip and won't stop until we lose our animal rights. They are an abomination.
wwest1964 2 years ago

I hadn't seen the horse on the porch video. There were so many local ppl doing rescue in boats, asking for addresses to help save caged/abandoned animals, none were affiliated with big groups.
