look forget google this is nas scarlett that was in the unsigned hype voice dont even match up smh. yu see thats the difference with every other rapper and nasir the creative poet family. years later u still wondering if scarlett is nas or not i know what you saying right now..... dam this shit is genius yea EXACTLY! lmao!
LOL what's with all the guesses on who the girl is. It is Scarlett. They had a unsigned hype article of her back in the day when this song released. She was supposed to be the shit, but it didn't work out for her. If you don't believe me, just Google the shit
If ur a hip-hop head u would know that the womans voice at the end is NAS had a aurgrement wit my homie bcuz he swears it was new chick about ta attack the game lmao smdh
He was probably misled by a hip hop mag. I remember when this album came out they had an interview with Scarlett in either XXL or Source and it actually mentioned her work on this album. I'm not sure what to believe anymore lol
This is a underrated album, I could never understand why nobody liked it. I loved it. I think it's his 3rd best album behind Illmatic and It Was Written.
i wud wife u if i kud wtfuzz? da thingz "scarlett" sayz makez it seem azz tho she iz her own person? y doez nas do thiz? thanks peepz 4 da luv n suport
@backLASH537 yo. i never thought about it, but you're right. that's definitely a nas flow. and i've never heard of scarlett before or after this track. it probably is nas with a high pitch voice.
if biggie nas and tupac all say the same thing they mean something completely different. Thats hip-hop, if you use someone elses words, and it means something more powerful when you say it, its respectable, not biting... biting is when a shitty rapper attempts to look legit by using a bigger rappers words. The difference between biting and vibing is that biting doesnt work, its bullshit, and vibing adds to the genre.
"Big told me Rae was stealin mah slang, nd out in Shaolin Rae would do the same thing, but I borrowed from both dem niggas, Nas, Last Real Nigga Alive"
its Nas All tha way threw the song with the recording program he workin with, he change his voice up to sound like a girl, for his verse of much meaning ... for me its straight versitlie
honest to god the person who sed sumthin about videos, imagine nas stories acted out by professionals wit ill ass directors not no rap video shit. sum life movie shit like NIGGER TOO that shit is dope. NAS woulda been the illest and KNOWN FOR IT. so i respect that comment.
Nah. The thing that makes hip hop stories so unique(or particularly Nas' stories)is how he paints the perfect picuture in your head with his words. So you yourself as the listener can form a movie in your mind with your imagination as the director and you mind as a camera. It would just take away from the impact and presentation of the story if you see it on screen. Picture "Rewind" told on camera. It would look cool, but part of the brilliance of that track was picturing it in your head.
I heard that Nas is doing the voice of Scarlett, with studio enhancements of course. Do you know if that's true? If so, that the most creative shit that has happened in hip-hop for a while; but of course with today's hip-hop climate, it wouldn't be appreciated.
Yung Joc (unfortunately, it had to be him) does it on the song Pak Man, Big Boi does it all the time, and Cassidy battle-raps himself on his last album, and so does TI on the song "TI vs. TIP" off Trap Musik. Someone else did this with a screw voice but I can't remember who it was right now and it's killing me!!
def one of the most underrated albums ever. i had to defend this album to people many times. i knew they were the crazy ones, not me.

why does ever rap/pop/hip hop or whatever music pop now sound like completely annoying and like shit?
Its almost like they are TRYING to make it sound horrible and awful and as putting off as it can possibly be.
There used to be so many great sounds and melodies coming from those genres and now there are none.
mongoose100989 2 years ago
Scarlett is Nas. In an interview, he stated that the voice was altered to fit the purpose of the song.

It's not "bitting" it's called "paying respect" or "shouting out inderectly" you really think Nas "needs" to steal lyrics..
Jay has also done the same thing with lines from Big and Eminem.
