The weight of a 6 speed is quite heavy compaired to the gear set. Iam looking at getting a ppg helical cut with syncro, they cost 4800 for the gears and then install and other mods that need to be done to fit roughly 7k all up.
Those are still pretty noisy but the straight cuts are FAR louder. And really if you are using your WRX as a daily driver going with helicals and sycros would be best. Unless you are going to a pure drag car you don't need a dog box. You can wear the dogs out in daily driving and slow shifting which gets expensive. My friend has a PPG dog box in his daily driver and he doesn't like it.

What would drive me bonkers. What's the cost to buy and have PPG helical gears installed vs buying a 6-speed STi?
