@EIAercle I'd love for them to get more recognition for their hard work and skill :D. The more people listening to bands like M&A, the better. If they became 'the mainstream' (whatever the fuck that actually means) I personally think that'd be awesome. But hey, maybe I'm not hip enough haha
@ckaledin I see that you guys come very strong on this subject. Well know matter how many paragraphs you type im not going to care of what you have to say. I guess my first comment was to broad please don't sell out and make shitty music like as other bands have done. I have seen them live and tell people about them anytime I can but I guess this stuff really matter to you guys. So have fun caring about me and not the music ; )
thoroughly impressed with how tight these guys are. listening to the studio recordings, i couldn't imagine a group pulling off such complicated rhythms in one go, but there it is. glorious.
couldn't agree more. there are so many great bands out there that don't get the recognition they deserve, and conversely many who do get praise that shouldn't.
I love this band so much. I've seen them live 3 times met them all twice and just happened to run into Dave their singer in Chicago they are so talented and extremely nice people I hope they go far. I'm sure they won't ever be HUGE but a modest mouse kind of success I can easily see eventually.
These guys are soooo fucking great live... I'm into a wide variety of music, and I've seen metal bands, folk, jazz, indie, you name it. They played a free show in downtown cincinatti in june and they executed their music flawlessly. The vocals were spot on- what you hear on their CDs is what you get live. One of the best bands around, of any genre of music.
The drummer is off the charts-amazing! I only wish they would incoprorate a more recognizable melody in what is essentially a display of technical talent. To be able to craft a more catchy tune out of those chords and beats... that would have been true song-writing talent. Still interesting though.
@upanishaderna oh wow, thank you for your informed review of the song. if this was just a "display of technical talent" he wouldn't be fucking singing. maybe the band wanted the listener to repeat the sung melody in his or her head over the song. of course you undoubtedly would never have the imagination to fathom that intention. To be able to have imagination when listening to these chords and beats... that would have made you look like less of an ignoranus. go back to listening to the radio.
Just saw this band last night with Circa Survive and States. Definitely one of the best bands ive seen live. Their performance is INCREDIBLE, and they are such talented musicians. This is one of those bands where you cant pick out ONE person that is more talented/more famous than the other because they are all so phenominal.
@gibkid haha yeah I saw them last month in chicago and the same thing happened. I'm going to see them again in a few weeks when they come to my home town and I'm sure a lot of the same will be happening haha
I remember when I saw these guys and the drummer tried to get the crowd to clap along to a polyrhythmic section. They playing a support slot, so the crowd just got confused. They were brilliant though.
This is amazing. Every part of this band is so unique. The vocals, the way they play the guitars, the time signature changes, the drumming. It's fantastic. It blows my mind.
@tokiesulu20 Not entirely sure what he's playing here but I spy a P90 pickup... I saw them here in Birmingham, AL a few months ago and he was using a Harmony H77.
Just recently saw them live....no words can describe how I felt....amazing..being a drummer myself i had my eyes glued to CHris and couldnt believe what i was watching....Awesome
