I'm not sure I understand what "Diagram" are you talking about. Breath holding can be trained by actually holding it. I'm doing several times with 2 min breaks. Just normal breathing, do not hyperventilate. And relax,..relax.. :)

@ShintaRurouni93 no it is not easier. I would say the opposite as in the pool you are more relaxed. The difference is that in the sea you have probably swam for a while, you have made a few dives, so your body is already warm and ready for breath holding

@ShintaRurouni93 if the water is colder than 70 degrees it causes a diving reflex which allows you to stay underwater longer. so yeah if the pool water is colder than 70 you could do it there too

If the water is colder than your face it causes the diving reflex to kick in. It is the difference that is important. You can get a more effective dive reflex by doing max breath holds 3 times a day under 2 weeks to prepair your self for freediving. It is not necessary to do your breath hold under water it works just as good to hold your breath in bed (and it is much safer ;))

Yes the dive doesn't last very long, you should be able to achieve 1:30 - 2:00 with decent breathing excercise prior to the dive. Also fit aswell which Felicite clearly is. :) Nice stuff. Where's the dive take place? Love the swimsuit too.

There are breathing excercises for out of the water based on Pranayama Yoga that help expand your lungs to hold more air. Then in the water you spend up to 5 minutes doing special deep-breathing cycles whilst remaining completely still so as to no burn oxygen. Then one last deep breath, and down you glide (use minimum effort, to conserve oxygen). I did a freediving course on Koh Tao in thailand. They got us down to 20 metres on day 2 of the course.
