Did , mean that the water had gone up by 30 degress or was 30 degrees? Thanks for uploading this, I need to boil water in 30 mins for school : ) Any Advice ?
@MsCooloreo Take a flat cookie sheet, place a parabolic mirror under it, get the best focal distance for a fine beam. Get it really hot, should take about 10 minutes at most depending on metal thickness, pour droplets on it, they will boil instantly and everyone will see, If you want something like this to boil water, I suggest using a bigger mirror with this, at least 1 foot. Pyrex will get hotter faster. lightly block the output end or hold water inside pipes, it will boil faster in this,

@jeffmcguire2003 It was a guess.. It felt like the temperature of a hot shower. Sorry I don't take showers much hotter than 30 degrees, what planet are you from? I'm from Earth
@FlipOliveira You can make one very easy. You go to hardware store buy chrome film tape (bronze may work too) Then you get a used satellite dish or anything of that shape and place the tape on it properly. You can make a somewhat "U" shape with different materials to make a trough mirror. Trough mirrors have the advantage of longer beams.
Efficiency is the most important word here.. I have seen some figures around the 20-30% mark in theory but still haven't seen it put to the test.. I am waiting to see someone who has the resources to put together a larger improved sterling engine that can handle higher temps, more torque and higher rpms.. This means more electricity. Steam turbine electricity is also something very good with solar but sterling has more advantages for its size and expense. I like Tecs/Tegs,but never have I seen..
... Them have efficiencies "above" 7%.. Though it is in the works for 10.. I think A higher standard must be met for tegs, and Sterling technology needs to become further produced and affordable to the public. Sterling efficiency can be improved also so I think this is the way to go. They are way over-priced though. That is one thing that makes tecs good which is unfortunate.
Been concentrating on direct to heat applications myself (Have breadbox water heater, and soda can space heater projects going.) My place is all electric... So any load I can reduce is = generation I don't have to do. Also putting in a mini photovoltaic setup, for emergency lighting.

If you take a 55 gal. drum and paint it black, place it in the sun at noon. You can slow boil an egg after two hours.
