  • My favorite of the the Badmotorfinger CD. Gets me every time, even after 20 years.

  • Great lyrics, and it helps to know the story behind them:)

  • If you've suffered from depression in the past, and are still struggling with it, put this on your list of songs to listen to when you're down. This song's the truth.

  • candles burning "yesterday....", somebody's best friend died......

    ....bleeding from my soul

these are some of the best lyrics i have ever....& i write for a living!

so young one...read between the lines

  • Lucked outta the Jeep commercial. 'BadMotorFinger' is one of the best albums ever written. 'Mind Riot' is a classic. This is one of the most underrated bands of the grunge era. Blows Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam (the U2 of our generation) straight outta the water. Chris Cornell might not be God, but he DOES have HIS e-mail address.

  • @ehodakowski Nice one its totally true :)

  • 2 dislikers share 1 brain

  • Lyrics kinda suck to be honest, but this here is music.

  • @LoveoneAn I was slipping through the cracks Of a stolen jewel

I was tightrope Walking in two ton shoes...... how does that suck??? its fucking awesome man.

  • Fucking love it. \m/

  • My best friend just died...R.I.P. S.M.D.

  • viva el grunge joder!

  • hush ~ this is jam ! dammit ~ :o)

  • Lyrics are just unreal. "Im Lucks last struck match in a pouring down wind" - scary great!

  • I cant fucking stand every god damn youtube video having ironic comments about how many dislikes the video has.

  • @Petalumian 1 person is a hater

  • M I N D R I OT yes i was caught in one too.

  • Two people don't know what 'THIRD WORLD WAR' really

    means

  • eh.. Not that great :/

  • temazo...pero soundgarden nos debe una visita a Chile!!

  • Come on people, grow a brain and stop comparing vocalists saying who is better. Its a matter of choice, liking one more than the other is not sufficient grounds to deem them "better". Unfortunately these arguments will be around as long as youtube, people just don't seem to possess the common sense to look at it logically. Patton, Staley and Cornell all great vocalists of their own respective styles.

  • @travdogger But that's no fun! ;D

  • I saw these live in 92 with Faith no more and Guns n Roses, apart from being shit faced for the whole day i will remember Soundgarden forever.

    BMF i owe you one.

  • ONE M00:00RE TIME!!!!!!!!

  • @TheStilson

Well, if you say so :)

  • I sharpened my wits on a dead man's skull

  • fuck your wing wednesday!

  • Matt Cameron's charleston on the verse. Simple, great, simply great.

  • CRIS IS THE BEST VOICE OF ALL THE WORLD!!!

  • @TheStilson Agreed. Chris Cornell's voice can never be beat. He will forever be one of my musical idols.

  • @amandacounter what about Mike Patton and Layne Staley? Both of whom DESTROY cornell live. (dont hate me! i LOVE soundgarden)

  • @AwesomeSauceLimited Thats such bullshit. There are so many excellent bootlegs from soundgarden, especially before 1996 where Chris sounds draw droppingly good. In most I prefer him live. I like Staley but even on his best night he didn't get close to Cornell.

  • @artisthespoonman The Cornell performances I've heard live are really weak, whereas Layne was always consistent, can you link me to one of the Bootlegs you were talking about?

  • @AwesomeSauceLimited:

    /watch?v=hTr8BNLqrOM

    /watch?v=v4ygBladNLo

    /watch?v=uh6j0OIWVgU

    /watch?v=dGgHjKfydy0

  • @AwesomeSauceLimited in all honesty, Cornell was, is, and allways will be a studio singer. His studio recordings are AMAZING, but live he's not consistant. For example, go search for Motorvision performances (that was right after Badmotorfinger came out, amazing performances), he sounds really good, but after Superunknown (he strained his vocal chords sadly) his live singing was usually not AS good, but still pretty good.

  • @Lawldudz yeah I noted that as well...

  • i was hoping they'd play this the other day... but i can't complain they played hunted down, ugly truth, and beyond the wheel and i was not expecting those AT ALL

  • Not even 50000 views?!

Fuck the world we live in :P

I wish we all got caught in a mind riot once in a while...

  • One of my favorite Soundgarden songs. Can't wait to see them in concert tonight!!!

  • 2:00 "I've been caught in a mind riot!", god, that part always gives me goosebumps! ... Always been my favorite tune from BMF.

  • @davedorger Whats a pecker???I got a hog leg bro..And I dont think you know Mr. Cornell like that to remind him of that...Whats up with all the dick's in your mouth crap???Bro it's O.K to come out the closet..lol...People are accepting nowadays!!! Come swallow some of his cock with the rest of us since you know so much...Really pecker and mouth???? It's just music and people have opinions just like you have..Why the harshness??? I dont get it??? It's just music Bro!!! Let the hate go...

  • @davedorger yet they never could do what SoundGarden was doing at the time..lol...Love both bands but really love the early Soundgarden shit!!! UltraMega, and all that came before BMF...But where are Alice in Chains??/Fucking DEAD!!!Never will get to see what they could have done and Staley didnt do to much without Jerry..Garden couldnt do it without Chris and Kim and some very good qaulity guitar and innovative licks...Get your shit straight!!!

  • Ostrich tuning!

  • I was tightrope walkin in two ton shoes

  • cornell is a poet

  • Who the hell tunes their guitar all E's? "Ostrich" tuning? More like "ass" tuning, amirite, or amirite?

  • @edthewave hmmm idk.... maybe guitarists looking to innovate and sound wildly different from others?

  • @edthewave ordinary people.... fag

  • @acdcpjsp 1.) I highly doubt ordinary guitarists tune their guitars all one note;

2.) Do you realise I'm being a "troll"? Alas, my humor is lost to those whose mouth or ass is full with Chris Cornell's dick. You guys take things SOOOOO seriously...Laugh a little, even your musical heroes are fallible. Some of y'all are worse than Cliff Burton or Rush fans...jeez!

  • @edthewave 1. who comments in numerical order?

    2. i dont even like chris cornell lol. i know what you mean about the fans though, they ruin some songs for me. its like i can see how one appriciates music but if u really like it why are you letting ur emotions drain out on youtube its just annoying. and i call every one fag on youtube btw

  • @acdcpjsp quite a few people comment in numerical order on youtube when they have multiple points to prove

  • is there nothing that is safe from advertisements? Great music, lose the commercials.

  • Love this song. A-Tonal FTW here.

  • 2:34

  • Chris Cornell is undoubtedely the mosttalented artist ofthe past2decades!!He is also, qtpsibly, the finst vclist/sngwtr/cmpsr that rock hasever kwn.'tween Sndgrdn,Tmpl ofthe Dg,Adioslv,&his solowork;he has compiled a timeless compilation of wk thtwill be4ever appreciated&admired by all. Those ofus whm havehad the previledge to bare witness to the raw,God given, unrelenting talent of this man;we are truely, the lucky1s.

  • @kayesanders1976 hey... ur gay.... fag

  • III BEEN CAUGHT IN A MIIIIIND RIIIIOOT

  • Damn this band had some major league talent. A magical mix of lyrics, musicianship and just outright badassness!

  • band's music still holds up to this day

  • so heavy!!

  • Crying from my eye teeth and bleeding from my soul ,., Love their old stuff.,., His lyrics are always obscure yet personal Cd brings me back to fucking 95 when I first heard it ,., great playlist !!!!

  • FUCK YOU SPRITE COMMERCIAL!

  • holy fucking shit

  • one of my favorites from soundgarden.

  • Gotta watch a god damn fucking Jeep commercial to listen to Soundgarden. Fuck the man.

  • @nectarguru Or you can help the band and purchase the album... it's also commercial free.

  • @HandPeopleHandPeople This album's been in my car for the last month.

  • @nectarguru Buy the record.

  • @nectarguru or you could, y'know, listen to soundgarden on the internet. or the radio.

  • If you like this song you should check out my video of Chris doing it solo in Houston last Saturday night 4/2/11!

  • to whoever disliked this song m/\m

  • 1 Person has no clue about music :)

  • @carlitobenito I wish I could hate you to death

  • @Omgdonut297 That makes no sense. Explain your hate.

  • @carlitobenito One person like blowing dust out his arse

  • @LoveoneAn That doesn't make any sense, explain yourself.

  • fuck this is a good tune,

ive been caught in a mind riot

  • Satan oscillate my metallic sonatas

  • I'm from the Northwest and I hate the word "Grunge" but in my opinion Soundgarden was and is the best band to come from that scene.

  • Soundgarden, PJ and AiC invented music!

  • Comment removed

  • i was tight rope walkin in two ton shoes.

  • Satan's calling me back.

  • ya i was about to learn this then i thought, fuck im lazy and left

  • @Sgtsquirrel

Pearl Jam is shit. Grunge? More like country mixed with bad guitar tone mixed again with a bad singer. Probably the worst band of the 90's.

  • well thats lovely but this isnt pearl jam. also you have bad taste:) @Carthsgtr

  • well thats lovely but this isnt pearl jam. also you have bad taste:)@Carthsgtr

  • @Carthsgtr Pearl Jam is the shit. Nirvana is the worst band of the 90's over rated whiny little bitch that Cobang was. I have all the fans in the word all the money and freedom in the studio to do what ever I want and I am still sad boo fucking who, Dave is the only good thing that came from them and Dave is so good he would have made it any way. At least Vedder, Cornell and Staley could sing there ass off, hell even Corgan was better.

  • Comment removed

  • @potzahasee01 Cobang your head against a wall.

  • @zebrahstudios its Kobain.

  • @FloydfanMega *golf clap*

  • Im lucks last match struck, in the pouring down wind

  • the best band of grunge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've Been Caught In A Mind Riiiiioooootttttt

  • I'm luck's last match struck... in the pouuuuring dooooown wiiiiinndddddd

  • The first time I heard this it was 89/90 and I was very, very stoned. And I mistook the vocalist for Michael Hutchence. Im talking about the "candles burning yesterday" bridge. I just had to put it out there.

  • WELCOME to another dimension

  • Possibly my favorite SG song ever. Possibly my fav band ever. Just perfect.

  • Music for the soul.

This is what Pearl Jam wish they could do

  • @TechFiend44 they can when they're on both soundgarden does it more often.

  • @TechFiend44 Agreed!

  • @TechFiend44 nothing wrong with Pearl Jam. Hear Backspacer?

  • Comment removed

  • GREAT!!!!

  • No more waiting sir he's back from the dead.....Soundgarden lives again!!!!!!!!

  • I love it, I love it, I love it, I could listen to it all the day..

  • Yasss!!!! what an amazing song! listen to this on acid.... completely fucked!

  • What a wonderful song!! I love it!!!!!!!

  • This song from what I heard of is about him dealing with the death of Andrew Wood. He and Chris were roommates at one time and while Wood was alive, they were best friends. Anyone who likes Seattle grunge bands that hasn't listened to Mother Love Bone should give it a try, I did and I didn't look back. Good stuff from both bands.

  • had a dream of this song....i dunno why....but its good

  • probably because its a way out there tuning, and maybe because the title of the song, but you are right, good song anywayeeeeee, I saw them in town and cornell played this sitting on a chair by himself with the guitar and it was the hilight....

  • love this album

  • i've been caught in a mind riot

  • How can someone transition so much???? I can see why kurt left..

  • finally people are realising what i knew since louder than love, that soundgarden are the best fucking band EVER!!!

  • The musical prequel to Like Suicide from Superunknown. At leas to me...

  • From the very beginning you can hear this song was not composed for any other purpose than for the band members to find something real, something organic, and something that defied the cliches of their genre. I am continually impressed by what Soundgarden achieved in their time together. You rarely see a "hard rock" or "metal" band of note today really reaching for something new. And this song, pretty much everything about it, still sounds fresh more than a decade after its conception.

  • One of the best Grunge rock songs ever...

  • after ripping the cds from the disk to my hard drive i broke the disk over my dick and it grew 5 more inches FUCK!!!!!!!

  • Amazingly tuneful song with remarkable use of a unique tuning pattern. I imagien it could be used to even greater effect on acoustic music, though the electric guitar does benefit equally from the deliberate anti-dissonance created.

I usually intensely dislike music this heavy, but "Mind Riot" is so densely melodic that I cannot help but liking it.

  • @guodade This is MUSIC,man...true music...and it's not sad...it's a masterpiece of pure rock...grunge rock is the greatest rock genre of all...

  • one of the great choruses written in rock...those EEEEEE'd telecasters/guilds are as clever and inventive as it gets.

  • Great tune.. can see how the guitar intro may well have rubbed off on Yield era Pearl Jam

  • THis is such a good song

  • this is a fantastic song from a great album

  • The tuning for this song is EEEEEE. seriously.

  • a guitar tuned to like this with any note sounds deadly as hell, Lou Reed knew what he was at when he recorded with DDDDDD

  • @diabeticmonkey yes, good old soundgarden and their love of odd and open tunings a trend that would be on almost all their songs thereafter.

  • @dropd26 I love it.

  • @diabeticmonkey

    It's called "Ostrich Tuning"

  • @diabeticmonkey damn straight ! the ostrich tuning invented by lou reed of velvet underground :)

  • @diabeticmonkey i know...

  • @diabeticmonkey Ostrich guitar

  • @diabeticmonkey ive done DDDDDD before and i thought, "yeah, no ones thought of this yet!" but then i remembered SG, and i knew that somewhere at some point they'd gone and done a song in a similar tuning. Here it is!

  • @webpunker the velvet underground used dddddd on a couple songs

  • @diabeticmonkey i think they were going for a sitar sound reminds me of 60's stuff.

  • @diabeticmonkey i know, its weird, they do alot of weird tunings,in burden in my hand the g string is tuned to b

  • @diabeticmonkey love the tuning. so fun to play dude

  • @diabeticmonkey I know. I was gonna learn it, and then it was like 'The fuck? I'm too lazy to tune that shit.' Still kinda wanna learn it, though.

  • @diabeticmonkey your right! i searched up soundgarden mind riot tab on google and your right! crazy tuning....

  • why the hell would we care if you like ac/dc? lawl

  • hendrix was born there after all

  • this song is truly amazing and captures the spirit of the cascade range.

  • I agree grunge is hardly a coherent style, but you can't call Nirvana or Pearl Jam heavy metal. It's a very different feel. Watch the "Dani California" video from the RHCP if you doubt that.

  • cause the red hot chili peppers know everything? if they knew everything they'd know how to make good music, and, well... they dont

  • @notchjohnson1 They sure CAN.

  • I was so blown away by how good this album was when I first heard it,I still think it's the best of that genre in that era which is saying alot, some of the best music of the 90's & beyond came from that Seattle scene between '90 & '92.

"Badmotorfinger",Ten" by Pearl Jam"Nevermind"by Nirvana & "Dirt" by Alice In Chains gotta be in my top ten for sure maybe top five of that decade, they all had to be played beginning to end, flawless & timeless.

  • wonderful song!

    amazing!

    i definitely love soundgraden!!!

  • Sooo, I can NOT even believe there is a reunion in the works. You bet my ass will be the first one to get a ticket to be on the floor, watching Cornell wail, and hopefully Cameron poundin drums. This band changed music forever, and It's great that Kim and Cornell finally came to their senses! Fucking Love Soundgarden, and this Album!

  • One of my favorite SG songs. I love this band so much :).

  • finaly a soundgarden reunion!

  • Incredible song from an album that pissed on Nevermind and anything else any other "grunge" band made - all Pearl Jam stuff included (and I'm a massive PJ fan).

  • ...What about Alice In Chains? Mother Love Bone? Mad Season? Temple of the Dog? Can you honestly say Soundgarden "pissed" on them?

  • pinche rolota

  • why cant these guys get back 2gether? they r so badass. soundgarden/sepultura world tour

  • E-E-E-E-E-e tuning!!! Sneaky bastards, you... xD Try and solo with that tuning, see where that gets ya haha.

    Great song. Soundgarden ftw.

  • this is my favourite song from badmotorfinger

  • The lyrics are poetry. Its like a dream.

  • soundgarden lyrics always do seem a cut above the rest. Probably cornell

  • The tuning is all-E

    hahaha!!

Gives it kind of a melodic, jangley sound

  • ey, i was 31 a minute ago now im 17? wtf is going on?

  • Haha nice. I became 11 LOL.

  • Thanks a lot for putting this up this song is great its one of my favorites.
