@Jagethemage onstage Roger wasn't 'spaced out', he had to play bass and keep time in front of a large crowd, requiring a lot of concentration.. not what I would call 'spaced out'.. although it may be an 'easy' thing to say for some
I love this sound quality-makes it more avant garde like lennon & ono "Two Virgins", but I still love this. they tried to perform this in concert a small number of times before they dropped it!!! AWESOME!!!!
they had about 3 gigs in yorkshire in december 1970 that they were bored of doing the same set they had been for the last 11 months so they thought they'd throw this in for a little spice (no pun intended)
this is ripped straight from a vinyl lp that my friends dad owns, the lp package is called alan's psychadelic breakfast with the 2 track alans psychadelic breakfast and careful with that axe eugene, he bought it in a record shop in the USA many years ago so whether this bootleg is the holy grail or a long forgotten tape i do not know but i like it and listening to a bootleg on vinyl is that bit more satisfying
I was at the concerts at Wembley in '74 and the speeded up voice they used wan't John Peel but Jimmy Young as he'd been slagging them off.I think he said they were a load of rubbish-what a gimp.
I should also say your uploads are absolutely fantastic,I have a lot of live stuff but not so much as far as film goes-if it wasn't for You Tube we wouldn't see any of it !
thanks i stopped uploading for a while then branched into other bootlegs but im back on floyd now since i found the two 1977 bootlegs i craved for months and then just kept downloading ive got more bootlegs than i have space for now though, i have them saved over 3 computers and keep losing track of them!!!
Yes you're right-at the concerts at full volume he sounded even more bonkers than on the radio.I reckon this is the best period between 70-71.They also changed the set list each night far more than in later years.
is this from Sheffield 12-22-1970

whoops my mistake I think: Alans Psychedelic Mastertape Live at City Hall, Sheffield, England, 22 december 1970
Liberated bootleg Ayanami 227. Disc 1 has Disc1.
1. Alans psychedelic breakfast
2. The Embryo
3. Fat old sun
60.33 min
RIGHT?

@johngolby i think that inspired the song "One Of These Days"
Jimmy Young and I think some rants were in the early versions of the song (which I have) on bootleg.
