  • his jeet kune do would be excellent if his style wasn't assuming that absolutely no one on the streets knows how to fight and puts his arms out wing chun style (who is stupid enough to beg for beating like this, putting your arms out like that can't be anything else than a deathwish) so please explain to me were was the real fighting skill in this demo he just hit this guy like he was a wooden dummy and i guess he used his poor student cause he didn't want to hurt himself with the hard dummy

  • che velocità! Sifu' Luca Marinello io non che me ne intenda molto, ma sei davvero bravissimo!

  • how else do you practice to get faster?

  • I love JKD!

  • One thing puzzlez me here. Everytime I see a JKD competition where guys actualy fight , fist combat turns into a brawl , and all that elegancy is lost :)

  • Thank you my friends

  • Jun Fan Kung Fu is the martial art JKD is the freedom to explore what is good for you and the way your mind and body works as one.

  • A legszebb harcművészeti ág, amivel valaha találkoztam. Remélem nyártól már javában gyakorolhatok a mesterekkel, ahol én szeretném.

    Éljen a JKD! :-)

  • i think jeet kune do is the most useful kungfu

  • The guy gets ass kicked so hard.

  • this guy sucks, not skilled

  • This guy is awesome. i think his Jeet KuneDo is excellent !

  • thank you very much my friend.

  • CHoregraphed dancers... sloppy fighters

  • No disrespect intended but it would be great to see his partner resist and actually try to counter rather than just be a training dummy.

    Respect.

  • he's not resisting because if he did he'd get his legs broke

  • Be nice to see people that actually know that this is only one part of their training and not the whole thing, which includes full contact sparring. Bruce Lee invented full contact sparring gear, intended for Asian martial arts. These guys are legit...

  • Wasn't questioning if they are legit or not. Just making an observation. There are many ways to train. When doing so I like to remember what Bruce used to say.

"If you want to learn to swim, you need to get in the water."

If you want to learn how to fight you have to make it as close to a fighting situation as possible. I would just like to see it look more "alive" like he used to say. That's all. If this is merely one part of the training then I don't have any problems with that.

  • You have to learn the theorys and techniques of fighting before you can just fight. Anyone can fling their arms at people and call it fighting. But what makes martial arts different from fighting is the knowledge behind the strikes or blocks. Yes, to swim you must get in the water, but does your swimming teacher throw you into the middle of the ocean on the first day? These are drills to strengthen feeling and hand eye cordination, which have their place in a fight. Just a drill man...

  • anybody want a round with him.

  • Not impressive? I think not, Pqnguyen this is lethal when practiced as practice is the only way to be good at this as I wouldn't even know how to counter this.

  • all of this is easy to counter...

butt ok dont forgot its a vid..

the have to show every thing clear and good to see afocrse..

    srry bad english

  • 這樣一只給人家打~真的學的道東西嗎...

  • This is not impressive.

  • What I think you mean is to say, is that for some one who has never done martial arts or any trapping/energy drills, this may look impressive.

  • Then please, demonstrate your skill by posting your own video on youtube. This way, we can appreciate your skill and post positive comments about how awesome you are.

  • You must be as stupid as your screen name. Since any idiot can post on youtube, like the douchebags above, what does doing so prove?

If you post something stupid and useless, then don't be surprised when people call it such.

  • I was merely suggesting a means of legitmizing your "constructive" criticism. If anything is stupid and useless, its assholes like you who put down other peoples efforts rather than try to develop your own.

P.S. ooooo, calling me stupid because of my screenname. lol. you're on a roll. you must be a fucking rocket scientist. Based on your comments, you must be a winner.

  • woow! hollywood wanted a reality? this!

  • yooooooo

  • chi sau much? wish i had their skills, so fast.

  • Wow.. I see a lot of elements of Wing Chung in Jeet Kune Do.. They take out the initiating grapple though..

  • JKD the BEST style out there

  • its not a style.

  • The heart of JKD is timing in both reaction, form/technique and decision

  • Jeet Kune Do the father of MMA... by the moment I explore Sambo and Systema, I think they have nice weapons and tactics.

What do you think?? This is the real escence of JKD: Martial Grow up.

  • I think mma is the grow up version of martial arts. Real fighting vs practicing techniques is what seperates the men from the boys.

  • The heart of JKD is Western Boxing...

  • no... your wrong, the heart of bruce's personal choice of JKD is western boxing.

  • dilly85 means Jun Fan, don't be anal

  • You mean Bruce Lee the Wing Chun fighter?

  • modified wing chun was once the core of bruces martial art till he threw it away.

  • Jeet Kune Do It's the heart of Wing Chun.... I learning this I know you go to ask Grandmaster Bruce Lee He must tell u like I said....

  • no man the core(heart) of jkd is wing tsun(wing chun ving tsun)i am learning wing tsun like u i reed bruce lees book reed it then u will now all it is wery good wery dificult to reed thery is 100ts of punches explained but its great

  • Not that I was there to see but Bruce Lee was using less and less wing chun in his later years. He wouldnt allow the person to get into grappling range, if they did then it was more boxing footwork than anything resembling wing chun.

  • What are you talking about? I think you're a little confused.

  • excellent Trapping Drill/Exercise.

  • JKD has gone so downhill. Everytime I see these videos I feel so bad. Too slow movements, not relaxation, they seems more boxer than everything else. Not to talk about the fact that many so called JKD instructors neither know how to kick effectly, they only are able with hands.

These two are so slow that make me sad for them, practice or not: I will understand if one was an instructor and the other a student, but what's the point of it elsewere?

  • Hi Amioran,

Don't feel too sad about JKD this suff ISN'T JKD AT ALL! As with so much junk out there masquerading as JKD all this clip is full of is a bastardised Kali. Trust me JKD is alive and well with those who truely know what it is, and they are few.

  • the left guy is acting defence. So much time he is 'waiting' for attract.

  • agreed.

  • blonde guy looks a little ^^ stressed

  • Say what you will about what this guy is doing but I think it is a realistic way to train. I refer to it as a modified Chi Sao. It trains sensetivity at a realistic distance. Good flow bro.

  • Can someone explain how trapping factors critical distance into it's equation. A boxer might hit and retreat, a grappler would move forward into a takedown. What's the trappers response?

  • You dont look to trap, if you do you will get your head taken off most of the time. Any instance your arms collide its possible to trap, just dont make a plan of it.

  • good question. if a person is not well rounded he would be in trouble if the grappler gets the trapper in a position he doesnt want to be in. thats why my art i named junari is a well rounded art i will be producing some demonstration videos to explain my art. probably this weekend, if u are interested join my channel for future video's dates.

  • seriously who is going to stand there while someone plays patty cake with em imma take my damn foot and kick you in the balls

  • If he does it correctly, his front leg is going to be checking your front leg (See the book Bruce Lee's Fighting Method Volume 3).

  • Tapi Tapi? looks like Lop Dar to me

  • these are possible applications and principles of the JKD. thanks to all friends and not friends

  • @yadomaster really enjoyed that vid. Sounds a crazy question but what do you consider principals of JKD? I met Skip Ellsworth in Philippines 2007 and he was the 3rd student of Bruce Lee. He told me that to him it meant focusing on your weaknesses. If you were say 80% efficient using your hands and 20% on your ground work..you would focus more on the ground work.Identifying your weaknesses basically.

  • I can say for certain that Ted Wong certainly doesn't like this sorta training. He'd equate it to an attempt to dilute JKD with FMA. Just in case there would be others who'd mistake the drill as Chi Sao, I wish to make clear that the drill is actually Filipino in origin. It's loosely referred to as tapi-tapi. aka tapping in Western martial parlance.

  • this will come in handy if im fighting a guy underwater but on land we move much much faster.

  • goofy, throw them into the ufc ring...they get clowned.

  • Put a UFc in a fight with three guys and he gets clowned. UFC is just a competition man.

  • what u guys learn is from the books that bruce lee wrote whats pathetic is that u dont always follow him u take stuff from ure own and put it in ure forgetting the meaning of kung fu wheres the flow in all this bruce lee was the founder of jeet kune do and u guys are messing it up saying this is what he did would be an insult to him

  • Dude, learn to use some punctuation. Also, bruce lee's concept was "the art of no art" meaning that you should incorporate all the different arts in to your style and make it as effective as possible. That guy on the right is good.

  • That's because he's the instructor.

  • I don't consider my comment negative. I just said the way they are trapping is too passive to me. My opinion. No doubt that these guys have attained a good level of skill. :-)

  • People on the internet are so odd, why leave negative comments? I like this video, I appreciate the amount of effort the student and teacher have put into their training. It is refreshing to see. Bravo. This is what martial arts is all about, whatever you want to call it, this is real.

  • sorry for be an ashole! but there are no other styles (or way of fighting) that have so many selfappointed masters as the JKD! Dan Inosanto is the only one who has a bit knowledge of it! Bruce him self would never accept this kind of behavior! The intercepting fist died with Bruce Lee THAT'S IT! Like Bruce Lee, the JKD died too young! He never got enough time to learn many people his own point of it. JKD will always be another name for fight like bruce lee instead of fight like your self!

  • thats the point! jkd never dies

  • The trapping is too passive. If you want to see good JKD trapping or good JKD period, watch Sifu Lamar Davis in action!

  • this is a true thing that happens! its not a chain letter! its kinda scary at first but it really works!! paste this message into 3 comments and press ALT F4 and your crushes name will appear on the screen!!! its soo wierd!

  • hey that guy is pretty quick too.

  • Cool combinations of sao

  • looks like wing tsun to me...

  • FMA buddy.

  • Wuts dis patty cake-patty cake bullsh*t? I'm just kidding=), that's good training exercise. He shudn't get 2 rehearsed into it, otherwise he might mistake that conditioning 4 da real thing.Wut that trainin is 4 is for something that only occurrs in a split second during fighting,so he wud do it like lightning instinct, after 1-2 seconds tho the knees and feet are already into play

  • Superb :)

  • This is incorrect. Not JKD. Way too passive.

  • The guy on the left looked drugged half the time

  • dude if you were getting slap in the face that much, you would look drugged half the time too

  • w00t first comment ! this is nicely done =P Good use of elbows and knees by man on right. Elbows and knees are widely under-used, but are the most effective attack / block points on a body . (punch someone in the elbow, and it'll hurt your fist more then it hurts their elbow)
