  • lol @ 1:05 xD

  • Just like Fabian Cancellera

  • Electric Bikes??...c'mon...he's better off with a Moped.

  • <--- roadie, but also has electric modified bikes. Ebikes make commuting possible. Who wants to show up at work/store/friend's all sweaty or having to change out of bike clothes. Different machines for different purposes, don't be so close minded. I do commute places on the roadie in spandex, but such trips don't involve me leaving my bike. Also, a motor will keep you safer in traffic as you can go ~10mph faster (if designed correctly). Doubling your speed uphills means less exhaust/passing cars

  • there is just so much that is unholy about the electric, electric assist, and any type of assist bicycle

  • the guy on the noah looked like he had a 42 handlebar....needs a 44.seatpost waaay too high. probably gets hurt when the hammer drops.

  • Zeppelin called it - scooter, bike, don't even try to pass this yuppie bullshit toy off as anything of real value. By the way, the dude with the $3000 racer doesn't know how to ride, as revealed by the fact that his saddle is way too low to allow for optimum range of motion. On the downstroke the leg should be almost, but not quite, fully extended. In otherwords, don't lock the knee. I hate yuppies.

  • you can get much better ev bikes now

  • Great video, Dave and friend... I owned an EV Global a few years ago and I loved it. The EVG had a lever throttle, so you could sit back and ride w/o pedaling. I had the lowest factory gear replaced with an even lower gear and I loved the bike. It was stolen. Electrics are great, but how large a lock do you need to have on a bike? Electric bikes dramatize just how much effort is expended re-starting the bike at stop signs and traffic lights... Lots. Great post. Thanks, guys.

  • on a fixed gear my friends and i climb hills preaty fast with out trouble but hey ppl always looking to enhance performance so cnat say thats stupid

  • Attack!! Attack!! Attack!!!

  • HAH! Pedal power all the way! Dude, you can buy a bike & tailor it to be a hill climbing bike if hills give you that much trouble.

Average bike weight is around 28 pounds where your bike is close to twice as much as that. Really the assist is negating the extra weight when you come to a hill. That's it.

Look into the Giant Seek series.

  • The cyclist on the real bike, looked clumsy and awkward in, and out of, the saddle.

  • I Really want that wall street journal jersey! =]

  • the OHM is just a readymade Bionx .The wattage is good enough, but gearing like they said is key. Comfort bikes geometry is not ideal for sprinting or steep climbs. cheap fix: lower bars and stem, raise the seat. Right now most e-bikes have generic geometry. In a few years we will see (hoping) more off the rack e-bike setups for more speed. like this watch?v=WsbOD09doRI :D

  • Interesting video, but i think if you want a bike you should buy a bike and if you want a scooter you should probably buy a scooter. my experience with things that claim to be multiple things is that the item does neither well, the only exception being a swiss army knife. ti83 plus or cell phone calc? also you are comparing a cruiser to a racing bike, CRUISER VS. RACING. just wanted you to get the key words. check out the new NOAH they are amazing.

  • nice^^

you should try the same with armstrong

    lol xD

  • Pretty cool bike.

  • the model tested here is the lowest power of the OHM product line, testing the XS750 would have been more papropriate, but looking at the cost, it is not even worth considering, it cost $3900, Come on !! bring the price down OHM :-(

  • Thanks for airing this. I've been looking into electric bicycles, but settled for a gas powered friction drive that runs on the rear tire. Electric bikes are expensive, and I don't think all the bugs are worked out of them yet. I was interested in the Schwinn electric bike, but they already discontinued it due to problems.

  • I got an ezip for 300ish, has a 450 watt motor and a 24v SLA battery. The bike weighs a ton but with the power assist I can get vastly farther range than on my lightest leg powered bike.
