Hehe--I love Jose and Placido giggling at seeing Pava bouncing around! I think Jose is actually trying to calm Pava down before the song begins, then Domingo, after Pava actually ha, ha, ha's while the other two are singing their ha's, Placido points to Pava to show Jose--"Oh well--there he goes!"--priceless!
@Hollywood1914 I would think he would have to be to survive those three mischievous boys! Mehta, from what Ive read, commanded a million dollars per performance, unheard of for a conductor at that time,---not bad for a crazy guy!--lol
@Hollywood1914 No problem--you may be seeing something I am not. I see his big smile, his bouncing to the beat. Mehta was and is a very physical, animated conductor. He is a show all unto himself!--lol
Those guys were so relaxed when singing these medleys together. Wish the 'Brasil' number could have been a little longer so we might have enjoyed a little more of Luciano's dancing. Wow! Could that man swing it! What a wonderful personality the Maestro had. In the 'Singing in the Rain' number where the three sing 'I'm ready for love', you feel that he really means it. Oh, how we miss him!. Sad to think it can never be the same again! (Pavlova 1959)

It's not because I am Brazilian, but this is one of the most beautiful songs ever an Ary Barroso was the most talented song writer.

Did anyone notice that the maestro is a little bit crazy?

Well, actually, I was talking about his manners. He looked so... agitated.
Just my opinion, of course.
