olipathetik, Citizen Cope does that with a few of his songs--changes the lyrics, but retains the chord progression, bass-line, and beat. On the CD's the transition seamless. I hope that answered your question... keep listening to great music like this.

Oh, I forgot to mention he keeps the BGV refrain; I only make a point of that because it is key to the overall feel of the tracks and Cope's sound in general... it is a part of his signature fluid sound.
