Yeah, I started playing saxophone after listening to David Sanborn's Backstreet Album. What a great album! Dave has come such a long way and I appreciate his growth and inspiration.
Hey anyone know where you could get the sheet music for this song? I tried looking in the internet, but it has failed me! AAAHHH. idc if its free or not. im willing to buy the transcription =)
Here we go again, Sanborn and gang really are making us all drunk with good ol' down south American jazz! Always here, but never gone! Gxyz222 hollaing down here from North Cacolaki!
David-take this band on tour (if you haven't already) and bring them to Dallas! I'm a huge Hank Crawford fan myself and your band here is probably as close as I'll get to hearing something like Hank's band from the '60s in a live situation. Love the record, too.
David was best during 70's-80's. I liked his songs like 'promise me the moon', and I just love his solo in young american by david bowie. But then in the 90's he turned soft Jazz which wasn't too impressive. Sanborn should have stayed with rock n roll.
Yes, he knows that too. But rock n roll is not so much appreciated at this point, thats why he changed to soft. I too loved those days. What a party every live concert was. ... Im waiting for him to come to portugal! PLEASE...
I have listened to Sanborn since the early 80's. He is the man!!

Don't know about exact music, but it's basically "The Preacher" in Bb with a couple of substitutions.

Actually, I take that back. It's more like Sonny Rollins' "Doxy."

I found out that it's called "Please send me someone to love"

he will always be the benchmark for all alto players - at least in my listening lifetime...
......but I do miss his "I told you so" and "Chicago" type tunes...

i agree but i think he got tired of having his sound lumped into the kenny g (ugh..) type of genre when clearly he is much much better than that.
