  • I would love for people to stop pretending that our people are "primarily" from Sierra Leone, simply because of a bukra-produced documentary. It makes no sense. We know that our people were primarily Bantu by the late 1700's throughout the South, and we know that our own language is primarily Kongo-based. The problem is that Bakongo is separated by language (they speak French, primarily), so people don't look there to research because of the language barrier would require that they learn French.

  • @MeAndHubbyToo I am quite sure that that area did not speak French before colonialism.

  • You do not hate that our african people may have to move or sale the property this is just another dam act of gentrification, I am so sure that african sister is conscious, and knows that behind the scenes this has jim crow written all over it.

  • I was in Charleston for work today and I was talking to a oouple of women who I assumed were haitian or jamaican. It wasnt till later that a friend explained it to me. This is not uncommon in the world, I had a girlfriend who was a black costa rican of uroba descent that had the same accent of these women, made the same okra soup and had alot of mixed african cultural practices...but it was just interesting to see it here. I really hope the government doesnt allow the uprooting. thanks.
