  • When 98% of the expert agree that climate change is real , i find it hard to believe that Abbot would claim that "its far from settled".

  • Frankly sir, not believing in climate change is a load of fritatas

  • @frolly1000 Show me a documented example of one case, thanks

  • @frolly1000 links to original papers etc please, or I am calling bullshit

  • Yes yes Tony, we understand, it's got nothing to do with reducing carbon, (not that that would matter) it's everything to do with sneaking in a new tax.

  • I cant believe this guy will be our next prime minister... he is so far from liberal its disgusting, even suggesting a new tax is anti liberal, he shoulder adopt some Ron Paul policy and I might vote for him. Oh and the whole anti carbon tax thing, haha he is such a joke, sure if you dont believe in man made global warming (like me) why suggest bringing in a tax for it? Its beyond logical...

  • @bushpigification I think we should invite Ron Paul to run as our Prime Minister. He seems to be one of the few making sense atm.

  • @bushpigification The Liberal party is traditional supposed to be based on converitive small government principles..

I guess you and me should start the Libertarian Party Eh? How about it, You can be my deputy PM and well blow the other two parties away :D

  • I don't quite understand the whole Carbon Tax Debate. I know the climate Deniers like to cry about a tax solving a "non existant problem", but a lot of climate change accepters (aka smart people) also don't like the tax. I am here with an open mind, enlighten me.

  • @Plausiblesarge The whole issue has been subverted by those who want to profit from it like war bonds.

Example is Howards climate change tax incentives. Monoculture tree farms are planted, people invest, get a tax incentive, then the trees die from lack of water, rince & repeat. Another would be Australia subsidising Indonesia to cut down rainforests to plant palms for bio-fuel.

They take the public concern and turn it into a cash machine for their buddies, win-win for politicians

  • This right here is why, despite being a liberal, I will NEVER vote for this man. Bring back Turnbull.

  • Tony is a liar and the best at it because his himself does not know when his lieing and when his saying the truth -- australian are fools for voting for tony abbott just like they were for giving john howard 12 years in offices we laughed as the US for voting George W Bush jr and now we will be the laughing stock of the world with Abbott as PM

  • He is like a 2 yr old.

    NO

    NO

    NO

    WAAHHHHHHHH

  • Tony Abbott and the Coalition like to denounce anything the government tries to do yet offer no suggestions of their own. Labor has a tough time ahead with their minority government, but they are trying to make it work. If the Coalition had any love and compassion for this great country they'd help labor do what needs to be done rather than blocking them at every trun. It looks, to me, that the Coalition and their corporate buddies are more concerend with power than the Australian people.

  • Abbott's own advisers support a price on carbon pollution.

Abbott is going to get advice from 3 clean energy organizations for his "Direct Action" plan to fight global warming.

    - The Clean Energy Council

    - Green Buildings Council

    - Energy Efficiency Council

Ironically, all 3 organizations advising Abbott strongly SUPPORT a price on carbon …

  • The bloke-is-a-joke. DON'T TRUST HIM!

  • I love the gesture he does when he says 'science'. I think a quote apty describes what is going through his head there:

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic (to Tony Abbott)." -- Arthur C. Clarke

  • Comment removed

  • Oh the "skeptical" scientist funded by the corrupt UN who is set to make billions from percentages off governments carbon taxes. Tony doesnt believe this shit hes just playing the political game knowing he would be politically ostricised if he denied this hoax. Funny how the IPCC was specifically set up to only look at man made climate change with no other factors taken into account, the review process corrupted and their so called scientists being computer modellers. Go to galileomovement com

  • Who can trust Tony Abbott? This was said when Rudd was trying the ETS. "No, do it with a tax" now he says no to a tax. Make up your mind Tony.

This is why we cannot have TA as PM.

  • Tony Abbott at 0:32 – "I also think that if you want to put a price on carbon, why not just do it with a simple tax".

  • What about John Howard when he said there will be no GST when the lying Liberal put an 10% Taxed on every thing.

Tony Abbott will be no different.

  • How can it possible, that such a duplicitous, ignorant, chameleon like Tony Abbott, be in a position to lead us all. My God...........

  • he doesn't understand GW at all does he.?

  • @michaelbailes Do you ?

  • What does the guy actually believe?

  • @DeafFret

    > What does the guy actually believe?

I don't know what he believes in, other than do what it takes!

I took my time whether to believe in GW, and now I do believe it to credible. For one, the ad companies the deniners have turned to are the same that wanted to tell us that smoking wasn't bad for you. The other was the realisation that it is required for one side to be 100% correct and all the other side has to do is raise DOUBT!

If humans gets this wrong... ask GOD to help!

  • Run the complete Sky / Speers i/v, you con artist Cook

  • @MedusaKnows how is it a con if the description of this clip contains a pointer to the full interview?

  • @philipmach It's a trend among denialists. Anything that can effectively refute their claims they declare "crap/con/lies/etc...."

  • according to the madmonk the devil created mankind not GOD according to the right wing goons only the rich are worth saving in armagedon mr workchoices madmonk will lick petrol fumes to be prime minister will say any bullshit and scare the stupid people out there to be pm I cannot believe that there are so many idiotd out there that love this man a man that tried to destroy workers rights with his anti union anti blue collar workers wake up from lazarus coma and workchoices

  • Don't throw stones in glass..........

  • Asked what Labor would do if boatpeople arrived in Australian waters, he replied "You'd turn them back(the boats)" - Kevin Rudd 1 Day before the 2007 Federal election

"There will be no carbon tax under the government I lead" - Julia Gillard 1 Day before the 2010 Federal Election

  • ROFL bye bye Phony

  • 'Mad as a cut snake'

  • Our opposition leader can't even pronounce "more"... DETHRONE HIM!

  • "The fact that we've had, ah, if anything, cooling global temperatures over the last decade not withstanding continued dramatic increases in carbon-dioxide emissions, ah, suggests that, ah, the role of CO2 is not nearly as clear as the climate catastrophists would suggest"

    Unconventional use :

    catastrophism | noun

Geology the theory that changes in the earth's crust during geological history have resulted chiefly from sudden violent and unusual events. Often contrasted with uniformitarianism.

  • He cares about being in government and says whatever he thinks will help - regardless of logic, facts or anything else.

  • @srnau123 Agree with you, in the case of both parties its choosing the lesser of two evils.. Both are pathetic. both leaders sound like scripted robots who lie and say anything to get elected..

But I have to vote Lib next election.. I just don't agree with how much money Labour is spending/borrowing and redirecting to pay for there deficit and cash handouts..

  • Yeah unfortunately it's a game, all politics is a serious game for power whatever ones noble intentions might be (or not be incase of Abbott he just hates anyone outside his elite coterie of conservatives).

And abbott will game the political system as much as he thinks (assuming he thinks) he can get away with. Certainly he has friends in the media helping him into the game.

  • Is this all just a game to Tony, or does he really care about governing?
