I do miss some of the guitar but they should be able to manange that...I would love to see Raine range his voice more again, and use it like an instrument like he used and like he did in this song
I could care-less about what lohello567 or anyone else says, I think Our Lady Peace is great even if they change over the years... Some of these comments shouldn't even be on here if all you guys think OLP is not good enough to satisfy you.
Come back Mike. After touring with Crash Karma you CAN return and be our favourite band's lead guitarist once more! They really need you and Raine...you really need Mike.
Yes......I think everyone does......I also think Raine Maida is realising what stupid decision it was to change the bands sound in the long run anyway, it has cause them alot of trouble with record sales and fans.
Hopefully there will be a new album out this year with a return to their old sound........and who knows, perhaps Mike Turner might have some free time on his hands.........????????Does Steve Mazur know how to tune for rythum guitar??
every band has their peak, and i guess they supposedly did at SM, but that doesn't mean their new stuff is shit....in some ways it is crafted better than many of their old songs...quit living in the past like the rest of you losers and learn to appreciate change
Oh stop being such a "all gooder".......I don't understand why you think I think the new stuff is'nt very good......its just no way near as good as it used to be.
And Our Lady Peace take too long to release records these days,,,,,,,,with usually very similiar results.
Bob Rock should not of produced this band and Mike Turner was everything that was good about it.
@nevmiles Yes, I know......but with a single like "All you did was save my life" and that video......its just the same old stuff is'nt it.
How the heak does a band go from writing tunes like One Man Army and Is Anybody Home to taking four years to record a 10 track album like Burn Burn, and its obvious, they made all the wrong decisions and I can't beleive they expected Mike Turner to leave - I cannot, beleive it!!
@lohello567 i found the band's sound plunged after Turner left. i think his distorted bizzare way of playing is what gave OLP their original flare. Now they sound like U2 wannabes. Totally boring and uninspired :( It doesn't help that Bob Rock altered their sound and Raine stopped using his high pitched voice....fucking Bob Rock. who will he ruin next...
@lohello567 As time goes on things change, OLP couldnt have possibly kept the same sound, especially Raine, as he got older his voice changed and he lost his falsetto for the most part. A real OLP fan would be able to accept the change. OLP needed a break, they needed to take time to deal with issues within the band. Then they needed time to produce their albulm, something that they wanted to do together as a band, they wanted to produce a quality record that could show OLP fans that OLP is back
@faced12 "A real OLP fan would be able to accept the change" That's like saying because your friend has now become stupid you should also jump off the cliff with them because they are doing it. I think you need to get over the fact that OLP completely sucks now, Steve Mazur sucks, and they've succumbed to today's pathetic mainstream audience. It's a real shame how such a good band could go so far downhill. At least we have the old and good music to look back to.
@rcmaster1029 I totally agree that their old stuff was better, but i disagree that they completely suck. It's not at all like following your friend off the cliff. I'm just saying that their music has changed and thats something you have to accept, you cant call yourself a fan and tell everybody that they suck at the same time. They havn't "succumbed to todays mainstream audience" at all, this is something I have heard time and time again but nobody is able to back it up.
@faced12 No one needs to back that statement up. If you are living and have heard the music today, you would understand how OLP's sound is so mainstream and boring. It used to be unique. But not anymore.
@rcmaster1029 depends on what you consider to be mainstream, but way to jump on the bandwagon with the rest of the idiots in the world who think they know everything about music. Also, Steve Mazur is far better than you'll ever be at anything in your pathetic life
@faced12 Ha, putting down someone else because you are so hurt about someone not liking the same music as you. I'm so sorry for you. Steve Mazur may technically be a better guitar player than I am, and he may appeal to the idiots who listen to the crap on the radio and think it's the greatest, but he certainly doesn't play guitar with any emotion and it certainly doesn't sound good. I would never want to be making the music he's making.
Oh, and way to jump on the liking crappy music bandwagon.
@lohello567 They took their time and produced what they wanted, who cares if you dont like it, nobody gives a shit about you. You have gotta stop thinking you know whats best for this band, you have no idea. Also, Mike Turner is gone, so stop bitchin about that. Steve is an amazing guitarist, and he honours his commitment to stick with OLP through thick and thin, which is more than I can say about Mike Turner.
there old stuffed rocked. and there new stuff continues to rock.
