@raysputin I could say the same about your statement about Reagan. Yes he didn't have the long military career that the others had. He did enlist and subsequently get commissioned serving in both Cavalry units and the AAF (mostly making training films and promoting war bonds), but not as illustrious as the others. But like the others his dedication to protecting and perserving the American ideal (via political means) are in my opinion is almost (or just as) laudable. But that's my opinion.

@raysputin I could say the same about your statement about Reagan. Yes he didn't have the long military career that the others had. He did enlist and subsequently get commissioned serving in both Cavalry units and the AAF (mostly making training films and promoting war bonds), but not as illustrious as the others. But like the others his dedication to protecting and perserving the American ideal (via political means) are in my opinion is almost (or just as) laudable. But that's my opinion.

I once read a poem he wrote. It discussed his belief in reincarnation, and depicted all his past lives being soldiers in war. That's how sick this guy was, the he needed to believe he existed in past lives and, of course, waged war.

don't worry about the economy. the liberals will fix it again. It's funny how the Democrats always bail out the Republicans fiscal disasters by balancing the books rather than spending money we don't have. rebates are bullshit when the nation is 3 trillion in the hole to foreign governments. Clinton saved the economy after Reagan and Bush spent like drunken sailors then GW tanked his inherited surplus. It'll take another liberal to cut down the elephant sized spending habits.

Patton never won a single battle unless he fielded superior numbers, with unlimited supply, against an enemy. That George C. Scott movie was great cinema- but piss poor history.Moreover, it's absurd to compare a legally declared war with the current military operations in Iraq.Those that have a problem with civilian control of the US military would do well to read the Constitution- the ONLY authority that any commissioned officer in the US military is sworn to preserve, protect and defend.

In WWII, we fought butchers who committed genocide and illegaly invaded foreign soil. We're doing the same here(Even though Nazi Germany never committed an act of aggression against us until war was already declared)
The tactics of war were far worse in WWII: massive bombings that killed thousands upon thousands of civilians. In Iraq, we're going out of our way to avoid civilian casualties. Prisoner abuses were far worse as well.

When do Bush supporters think it'll be okay to leave Iraq? What will be the resounding note that says it's alright to leave? If we pull out in 5 years, Republicans will say, "if only we would've stayed in for 6 years." If we pull out in 20 years, Republicans are going to say, "if only we'd stayed in for 22 years." Every 6 months the Bush administration pushes back the pull-out date by another 6 months. How do we get to 100 years in Iraq? Six months at a time.

you made a mistake with mccain 100 year speech he said that we will be in iraq for 100 years with NO combat role. like we have been in germany since the end of ww2 with no combat role.
as a bush support on this issue i say we should pull out when the iraqi army/security force is ready to fill our role. and not one second before that job is finish

I wonder if Harry reid is so sure the war is lost now. the Marines have cleared Al-Anbar Provence of Terrorists & turned the cities over to Civilian control. Schools have been rebuilt & supplied so children can learn to read & write. & the markets are open for business. the war is won, we can only lose by leaving too soon. Veitnam was won, but the politicians lost it by pulling support for the veitnamease Government. If we leave Innocent people will be slaughtered, just like after we left Nam.
