I love fighting him one on one. Makes it seem more realistic of Ryu. He's pretty manly so I always assume he'd take him one on one.

tough fight with just ryu but it can be done. God this was my favorite game ever I never got so attached to one game still my all time fav. and yeah that island with the giant mobs was nice place to lvl...man we beat the shit out that game

Ok, first. If your going to use rand to tank the boss, Fuse him with the earth and water shaman, it gives him more HP, ATK and DEF. Second I don't understand why you didn't use G Dragon at all, it makes the fight much easier.  Third I would have taken a fused Katt over Spar anyday, I know spar has high HP and Def X but Bow also has Def X and with Rand and Katt attacking the Atk up doesn't make much of a difference. Fourth, why didn't you fuse anyone :S

I had no problem beating him with just Ryu alone...all you need to do is have wisebelts and if you get the carpenter that cooks items, the game is a walk in the park.

I had the exact same team, just higher leveled.

Main Character Lvl 47

Bow (fused) Lvl. 51

Rand (fused) Lvl. 45

Spar (Water Fuse) Lvl. 40

I didn't use Spar until the very end because he sucked when you first got him.

the hardest boss in the game IF you attempt to defeat it with only Ryu. I defeated him with only Ryu at my first try with almost all items used up. With full members its not that hard...

I remember when I had this game I fought this guy with Ryu himself but before leveling any further I remember I trained all my characters to level 99 and the boss fights were still hard. I had Ryu, Katt fused with some dark shaman, grand and Nina unfused. I trained them at a small island where there was a giant fly, a giant slime, about 4 golden slimes and I don't remmber what else was there but it was a pretty damn good place to level up.

He's near the very end of Infinity. In a room that's pitch black and has no background music.

One on One he has 4000 HP. With a full party he has 5000. So it might be better with a full party.

Yeah, even at level 80 in a solo battle, i still have trouble with this guy. It is significantly easier to use your whole party.

I can't blame Ryu for being afraid of this thing when he was younger. It still scares the living heck out me.

id much rather fight barubary wit only ryu. u get healed to full health...i think. havent played game in a long time

you want a better strategy? cook up wiseBL's if you picked the carpenter with a cooking wife. i think it's one f. spice from guntz and two tunas. then use the stamina you just made with two tunas again then you get a wiseBL. if you have alot of em you can take barubary on with just ryu, which is what i did

This is a challenge game. I'm not allowed to cook. And using G.dragon to beat Barubary is just plain cheap. A better way is to duke it out with attack and guts.

For this challenge I had to heal almost every turn. Witch requires tons of wfruits. If you've got a better strategy let us know.
