  • Best tutorial EVER for create backlight verycheap on the FUTABA 7C , THANKS DUDE!

  • @gloomy69120 Thank you. You're very kind.

  • hi,,sorry my question but some people dont remove the silver film from the screm!!!do you tink if i dont remove the silver film work fine?????tanks ,,nice video

  • Hi,

I just ordered one after watching your video.

Did you say I can install the EL Panel from the backside, rather than the FRONT side.?

    Thanks...

  • @Spyro333777 No. You need to access the front side in order to detach the LCD and place the EL panel on the back of it. You also need to access the backside of the radio so that you can place all the wires and connect the inverter.

  • @Juary70

Thanks for making it clear on how to do it.

  • @Spyro333777 What i meant was that you don't really needed to remove the big main board on the back of the radio. Just free the LCD strip and remove it in order to work on it. After your done just slip the strip through the hole and connect it again. You can the solder the wires without having to displace the Main PCB. My mistake. Failed to explain myself properly.

  • The way to see if it came out ok is to put the EL panel on the back of it and light it on. If the polarized layer came out you won't be able to see the lettering very well. If it's still there and the lettering is clear then you have a job well done. In case the polarizes layer comes out, it can be placed on the screen again. Just a matter of separating it from the other sticker. Hope this was helpful. Cheers.

  • my screen still looks polarized hmmmmm

  • second layer is a polarized one.

can the polarized one if pulled off be put back on or do i have to buy a new screen ?

    mines came off

  • Thanks

  • @ritchiebarber You're welcome. Here's a very important issue. When removing the silver sticker you should be very careful just to take out the white and silver one. It has 2 layers. You need to remove the first layer only. The second layer is a polarized one. Without it you wont be able to see the lettering on the screen.

  • @Juary70 Good to know. I nearly went for the 7c but have just won a 9c from ebay. Hopefully it will be more or less the same job. Does the white and silver sticker remove fairly easily, i intend to be careful :)

  • @ritchiebarber It does come out easily but some times, and I've seen it happen, it pulls the polarized layer also so thats why you need to be careful. Other than that it's a easy job to perform. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any question about all of the process. Hope it turns out well for you. Cheers.
