I was also thinking about building a wind turbine to do a bit more to save the planet. I was think a vertical axis turbine would be good because they look so cool and are supposed to be more efficient.
yes, vertical axis turbines are more effective simply because there is no requirement for a 2nd axis. just imagine what would happen if you had a horizontal-axis turbine: each time that wind changes direction, you would have worst angle of the wind hitting the turbine - thats what makes it less efficient. a solution would be to add a vertical axis so it could rotate freely according to the wind direction, but that what you get with a sinmple vertical axis turbine :D
The Urban Heat Island effect is caused by humans, created by humans. So, the Urban Heat Island effect is part of AGW. And it's not only part of it but the lion's share of it.

Also, to add on, more ways is have all our power and electricity come from wind power and solar power. Both of those combined could easily power the entire planet and thus, no more need for power plants which are not sustainable. Also, to save water, regulate water usage by corporations by 1/2 and the agricultural business by 1/2. Out of private homes, the usage of water is only around 10%. And, for oil, use trash! Our trash can be used for something useful!!

Maybe, though I feel that is doubtful. We act in the way nature as perscribed for us and have done things far more amazing than any other animal. I think humanity may even outlive this world, in time.

The earth is already saved! Stop wasting your energy. The earth will be just fine. Your real concern is saving the humans. Humans are the endangered species not the planet earth. The best thing for the planet will be when humans are no more. Save the planet hahaha. Peace on the journey....

media is as usually not accurate or drawing the whole picture but if anyone denies our huge and hugely negative impact on our environment than think again and study and link together effects of our inventions and habits over the last couple of decades!
nobody should just believe what any video or paper or guy says but at least some initial attention is created. thats why i would always support algorish campaigns while adding my own twist to the story told when talking to the people i can reach!

Man made GW is a farce. Ice cores always prove that CO'2S always follows tempetures. proving al gore is speaking BS. Without co2's there would be no life. Sunspots causes earth tempetures to rise and lack of sunspots in the sun cools the earth like it has for almost a decade. Global Warrming alamists is just finding ways to screw the taxpayers out of their hard earned money. 31,000 scientists disagree on Al Gores assumptions of global warming. So If you believe co2's are bad, Stop Breathing Now.

thats just one topic media has finally put some attention to but actually for example methane (hugely from all our landfills which are getting filled quicker every day since we live in a throw-away-and-don't-think-about-it-because-i-can-buy-cheap-new-shit-tomorrow culture) is as bad but has a much shorter life so cut down in that would have a positive effect on earth within 10-15 years!

but as for me , ive been doing all that stuff for a while now , espcialy the lights , im allways turing those off and unpluging shit (exept for the last one too , i dont make hot drinks , and as for laundry , right now i have 2 sets of cloeths i were , which last me more than a week , so id say im good with that part)

i want to apologize for underlining a fact that is so easy to understand by anyone with common sense and i did not point to other more importand sides of emitting CO2 in the atmosphere. i choosed to do so simply because some ppl can not (or do not want) to understand the effects of those gases to global warming

just a small answer to all those ignorant ppl who still do not admitt (or accept) the simple fact that burning fossil fuels is responsible for global warming: the most importand characteristic of fossil fuels is their heating value, which means that fuel X will release a certain amount of heat when burned. its actually the same like when you set the fire on a fireplace to warm your house, the only difference is that earth gets warmed alot slower than a usual house

i'm already doing the first four and don't drink hot drinks so never use kettle so you could say i am doing more to save the wold than the video thinks i should.
I was also thinking about building a wind turbine to do a bit more to save the planet. I was think a vertical axis turbine would be good because they look so cool and are supposed to be more efficient.
Sorry about the comment about Americans.

yes, vertical axis turbines are more effective simply because there is no requirement for a 2nd axis. just imagine what would happen if you had a horizontal-axis turbine: each time that wind changes direction, you would have worst angle of the wind hitting the turbine - thats what makes it less efficient. a solution would be to add a vertical axis so it could rotate freely according to the wind direction, but that what you get with a sinmple vertical axis turbine :D

W - warming
anthropogenic def. - caused by humans
The Urban Heat Island effect is caused by humans, created by humans. So, the Urban Heat Island effect is part of AGW. And it's not only part of it but the lion's share of it.
The rest of AGW is a very small, minuscule warming from co2.
The rest of the warming on the earth has been natural variations that have nothing to do with human activities.
Climate Change--NONE of that is anthropogenic
