Obama just signed the NDAA into law which has a controversial part which says..."The law affords the military an option to detain U.S. citizens indefinitely without access to legal counsel..." I'd hope that you don't agree that the military should be able to detain citizens for as long as they want without even giving us a lawyer, trial, etc.

That is a really eye opening statement for me. I've always thought get us out of this war and out of the Middle East/Iraq ASAP. However, the President makes a very good point. If we look at past history it is our staying in these foreign areas to help create peace and move towards more stable economies in which America and neighboring "superpowers" can invest that have made us all successful to some degree. I know it's easier said than done and many other cultural issues come into play but...
