Naruto originally already had the nine tails yang chakra that mixed with his own. Because the yang Chakra is physical Chakra. Meaning naruto had more chakra because of the nine tails naturally. Since naruto was taking control of the yin chakra He would take in the foxes hate with it. If Naruto did use all 9 tails then he would have had the full red body. 8-tails was the body we saw coming out of the sphere (the muscle looking one), I rewatched that episode today, just thought I'd clear that up lol
