WOW,great viewing angle too,i was at this one ,yes security were a bunch of tossers there back in the day.still good gig if i remember, well they always were ..
Wow, can't believe I found this. The blonde girl, desperate to get her hands on Morrissey is me! I was 19. The security was really, really strict and they only let the 4 of us up for a 'stage invasion'. The girl looking really peed off in the front row was with us and really annoyed that she didn't get up there.
Is it just me or is there something weird about the crowd. I've never been to a gig where people at the front give each other room to dance! Were you there - can you explain?
I was 20 years old when I saw them live in Brixton. I was hammered, and had never heard of the Smiths, even though I had already been living in England for almost 2 years. I listened to this song on a walkman cassette on the tube, and liked it. I have to admit that between the alcohol and the hash, I don't remember much. What I do remember was a great sound, and that they really interacted with the crowd well. Bought a couple of Smiths albums afterward, and now I realize what I missed. Damn hash
The guy in the red is so thick in the head - he doesn't even show any emotion to the fact the he is on the stage with Morrissey! I would have given anything to be helped onto the stage by Morrissey! Infact, I would have went crazy!
This is why I loved The Smiths! What an incredible peformance. The singing, the playing, the crowd. It is what pop music can and should be! I'm happy Moz is still making music, but I'll always miss The Smiths.
wow that was amazing- mozzer is in great form- l've been to few smiths gigs and this reminds me how lucky l was to witness one of the truly best bands to ever walk the planet..
you are so lucky, yes! I was unfortunately not born at the right decade and can only enjoy them on youtube! Amazing performance! it makes me love moz even more !
Ah well you're blessed with good taste and youth! It's exciting when you see all those youthful people screaming their heads off- growing up can be painful at times- Morrissey connected all that angst through the music of the Smiths- his poetry struck a chord with many- he still sings today- I still follow...
watching with a smile on my face....the Smiths really were something very special....good to see such intimacy with the crowd too. Thanks for uploading.
Marr is the greatest player ever, no question. And how decent he is, he thanked the crowd at the end of this vid, just before jumping in the air. I like when Craig Gannon played the second guitar, so they sounded more powerful. What a GREAT GREAT gig.
i was kinda bummbed because it was the backview but i ended up watching the whole thing anyways and now i realize that this has been the best version ive seen! those girls on stage probably had the best days of their lives..
this is great footage. To think they split a year later, looking at this it doesnt make sense. At their peak they were!! Mind you marr's suits were a but dodge, maybe that was the reason. Fantastic stuff, really captures, The Smiths and Crowd reaction.
This started out kind of slow but just BLEW ME AWAY from the middle to the end! Has to be one of my favorite concert clips I've seen yet! AWESOME!!!!!!
Nice video, you have a great channell. Morrissey is amazing! Seen him nottingham, off to see him in Camden in early 2008! My girlfriend will love me when I show here this video. Where was it shot? Rock City?
what an amazing song and concert. How many times to you bands invite people on stage. (without violence). Marr was in rare form. Those who attended that concert are fortunate. we will never see the likes of a band close to the smiths perform like that again.
The smithss !!!!!
