  • Interesting Concept but I think that the main drawback is that the extra set of sails probably isnt doing much. Would'nt surprise me if it actually creates nothing but turbulent air. Have you built a model or prototype to test the sail performance?

  • I'm a little new to this YouTube... didn't find your commment till tonight.  Did you happen to see the link reference? Goes into a little detail about the engineering behind the concept.

    On a reach its at a disadvantage. Its main strength is to present the maximum amount of surface area for down wind and up wind. It "theoretically" can carrry as much sail area as a Gunboat 48, yet is only about half the running weight.
