  • Derek Thanks for the info update ...

  • I never noticed the person hitching a ride on the last shot lol

  • I can really see how you like the BC Rail so much. Awesome engines, grades, and scenery. You did a great job with this video.

  • This is like something out of a Pentrex video! Love it!

  • beautiful shots & you have to hate mergers

  • Awesome work, and I too like those K5Hs!

  • you should really get a job with BC Rail!

    p.s. trains are awesome

  • They've only got the 2 Dash 9's? No wonder the train is short, 28-30 cars is all 2 dash nines can pull up the hills to Birken and Mons.

  • Hey COOL, this is filmed up by Birken, right near Birken Lakeside Resort!! (in the trees around 1:00) good spot to drank a few brews by the lake and watch the trains roll by. Blrproperties. net

  • This is an awesome video!

  • I love this video. The landscape is very beautiful. Good variety in this video.

  • ugly

  • @raffmac12 to you maybe

  • Beautiful job on the video.

  • Is this line still open, if so how many trains use it now?

  • 2 daily. 1 Northbound, 1 Southbound.

  • @patchmeadow2

The line sees anywhere from 2 to 4 trains a day.

  • @patchmeadow2 it is still used there is a daily north bound and south bound and passenger excurrsions

  • f***

  • I live on bowen island across from lions bay and its 3-4 km from the mainland across howe sound, but you can hear the horns really clearly from my house.

  • Man I never got to see a BC Rail Freight in my life.

It's a shame that CN bought it.

  • wat i rly want to do is fit a horn like this to my old caddilac lol

  • geez some of these tracks are awfully close to the water

  • man they have massive horns

  • Love the horn! Beautiful scenery too!!!

  • That was wonderful to watch! You must love living in such a beautiful place. :)

  • I am a non train person, but this video is GREAT! A beautifully done and exciting train vid

  • where is BC rail

  • British Columbia, Canada (just north of Washington State)

  • In the last angle why is some dude on the back of the train? He looks like an employee but would he need to do that theres nothing inbetween lion's bay and N.V, its crazy?

  • Good eye! Ya that's actually the conductor. The train was so short that day that he just waited until it passed by so that he could restore north siding switch Brunswick to its normal position.

  • Ahhh....the memories.....

  • haha yes indeed!

  • The scenery in Canada is awesome!!

  • haha yes it is! :D I think it's time you paid a visit ;)

  • Oh I will when I can get some vacation time..I need at least a week to take it all in!!...lol...

  • haha yes AT LEAST

  • Nice video. It's great to see BC Rail from so many different vantage points.

I don't understand why their passenger service went to Rocky Mountaineer instead of Via. Rocky Mountaineer's prices and schedules are way out of line with the needs and wants of the average Canadian or tourist.

  • Thanks!

That is very true. It is called the "Whistler Mountaineer" so I'm assuming they're target marketing those wealthy people who stay at the 5 star resorts in Whistler. I wish the Cariboo Prospector was still in operation - I'd be hitting that up all the time when I want to go skiing!

  • I love the horn!!

  • nothing sounds any better! :D

  • i didnt kno Cn took over BC rail :S

  • CN has been running the ex-BCR since 2004.

  • really wow i didnt even kno the BCR existed until a couple of months ago

  • ahhh too bad you've missed out!

  • BC Rail Lives Forever!!!!!

  • Thanks everyone!

  • Very Nice! I always loved the canadian cord. Get tired of the A Major 7th lol and even worse the K5HL's!!!!

  • Yes exactly! It's a shame they can't bring them back. I always love to hear the classic K5 on an NS or CSX unit too! (though becoming more and more rare)

  • Awsome job! You should try and make a DVD out of these clips one day. I Would deffinatly buy a copy.

  • Thank you! That's quite the endorsement! :) I might have to do just that some day ;)

  • Even though BCR is now under CN, is this route still used? It's another awesome video!

  • service may end next year - we will know in 2009.

  • really?! that's really a shame. If I get enough money I'm going to have to bring BCR back to life and just run trains just for the heck of it :P

  • better start getting the money -lol

  • I've been hearing from some of the guys in Lillooet that it'll be a sub-lease to a shortline operator like RailAmerica or Omnitrax.

  • replying to my own reply. If it is RailAmerica, hopefully they don't screw things up like they did with the E&N.

  • really? I haven't heard anything yet about a sub-lease... Ya Vancouver Island has had its railways reduced enough!

  • end of an era - the company was going down due to government debt.

  • I now know where that MSTS Horn is from!

    Good job Buddy!

  • Nice job!
