Amazing kid! This is the best way to show how social injustice/ resentments get echoed through generations. Hunking horns, injustice, represent a society coming to conflict with its tradtional values. Mom s the victim. So wish the child was not exposed to this psychosis. So wish I wasnt exposed to this madness............
the convo sounds like its coming from a bitter husband and wife instead of a mother and son. it's really hard to take a side because 1,i have no idea how life can be for an Iranian woman who divorced and remarried, 2, the kid obviously has abandonment issues and resentment towards his mother, 3, it's very possible that everything coming out of this child's mouth, as bright as he may be, is just an echo from his father's mouth.
Im in two minds about this boy. On the one hand I like him, on the other hand I dont like him. He is very intelligent and articulate, and is not afraid to speak up to make his points heard. however I didnt like the fact that he was talking to his Mum like that. It was the context of what he was saying that was wrong. He made a good point, were his mother said, you belong yourself only, and he said I am too young to belong to myself, I must attain an age before I can belong to myself.
@emirates247 i agree with you. There's a line between voicing ones opinion and being outrightly disrespectful. He is an intelligent boy, but i worry about his choice of words and words. Its a little scary to hear a boy talk to his mother like that. However, he did make some excellent points!
@emirates247 Your looking at the way in which the kid is talking to his mother all wrong. Yes, that would be very disrespectful for a child to speak with his mother, or anyone for that matter, in that way. However the kid is really just being used here as a representation of men in Iranian society, and their view on divorce and women's rights.

i would prefer to watch paint dry than this film.
